Weddings are wonderful days filled with wonderful memories.
Two people fall in love and have all of their friends and family gather in one beautiful place, all under the same roof (metaphorical roof if it’s an outdoor wedding!). The wife-to-be gets to wear her personally-chosen dream dress and then she gets to have her best friends support her through the whole process. The husband-to-be gets all of his best mates together too.
Then they get to exchange vows and tell each other how much they love each other. Then there is a massive party that usually has loads of good food, drink, gorgeous flowers and stunning decorations. Of course, there is great music too, as well as cake and fun wedding photos. It’s pretty much a perfect evening filled with love.
…But what’s wrong with a little bit of competition on the big day?
A few years ago, a man and woman named Asser and Habiba got married at the Fairmount Four Seasons Nile Plaza in Egypt.
It seemed to be a beautiful wedding, as the bride was dressed in a breathtaking Cinderella-esque gown and there was a whole army of friends and family there.
However, there was a little bit of a “feud” that went down… Not like you would expect, though.
Turns out that midway through the wedding, there was a dance-off between the bests bridesmaids and the best groomsmen, and it is totally epic.
The dance-off starts with the groomsmen, who choose to dance to “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars — also known as a classic pick-me-up song for anyone who’s looking for a mood-booster.
They form a line and all take turns dancing, clearly they are having the time of their lives from the very start. There is even a camera man getting the whole thing on tape so that they can relive this glorious moment for the rest of their lives. (And pretty much everyone is filming on their phones, so there’s that.)
They perform for the bride, who is up in the front watching. And clearly some of it was rehearsed because at certain parts, they all know when to form a line and go to their spots. It’s hilarious!
The groomsmen nail it, and then it’s time for the bridesmaids.
All of the bridesmaids are dressed in dark blue dresses and match the excited energy that the men brought in their performance. This time, they perform to a mash-up of classic pop songs including “Crazy In Love” by Beyonce,” “Wannabe” by Spice Girls, and “Wop” by J Dash.
The bride is front-and-center as she should be, and all of her lovely bridesmaids are gathered around. First they get in a line across the room and do a little chest bump, before they break out into full-on “wopping.”
So yeah, in this case, there ain’t nothing wrong with a little competition on the big wedding day! This looked like so much fun, we almost felt like we were there.
