Buying clothes online is always a risk. We’ve all had many shopping experiences where it’s only after trying on a shirt or a dress that we realize how ill-fitting and unflattering it is.
The big problem with online shopping is that you can only determine how something looks on a model, who happens to be a lot taller and slimmer than you are.
Even worse, the clothes you see on the model aren’t always the clothes you receive in the post, which can create even bigger (and, admittedly, funnier) issues.
We’ve all seen photos of people who have received something completely different from what they ordered, and Deux Aubrey thought she was one of them.
The bride-to-be had ordered the below wedding dress online, knowing that she was taking a risk, but hoping it’d pay off.
Unfortunately, when the dress arrived, it looked nothing like the picture. The material was shiny and saggy, and didn’t cling to her body like it should have done.
Nobody could argue that this dress looked good, and Deux wasted no time in contacting the seller.
It was here that she realized she’d made a hilarious mistake, which she shared on a now-viral Facebook post.
The post begins:
“Two weeks ago my wedding dress came in. I was really upset about the looks of it and sent an angry email to the company wanting to return it.”
Aubrey explained that she took pictures of me in the dress telling the seller that it looked nothing like the dress she had ordered.
Here’s what she received.
She continued:
“Well, today I received this response from the company “you put the dress on inside out, please put it on the right way.””
That’s right – the reason that Deux’s dress looked so awful was because she’d put it on inside out!
Deux wrote:
“Who knew that they shipped wedding dresses inside out? 🤣 …the dress actually turned out beautiful. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how much school we put behind us….we’re still going to lack common sense , like how to put clothes on properly . 🙄”
She added that she knew the seller wouldn’t appreciate her angry email, and this Facebook post was the best apology she could make to them.
Hoping that her story would give everyone else a laugh, she wrote that she’d decided to share it with the world.
She finished:
“I hope you take comfort in the fact I was not on your presidential ballot….nor will I ever be running for any office….I’ll help save your life but seriously- please don’t call me to dress you, apparently I have trouble doing that for myself. 🤦♀️”
Deux’s post quickly caught the attention of thousands of internet users, and it was shared across Facebook by strangers who thought her slip-up was too funny for words.
She had to respond to hundreds of questions and comments about her story, explaining that no, it wasn’t a joke – she wasn’t “that creative”.
Lots of people asked Deux how her mistake had happened, and for that, she blamed lack of sleep and being in a rush.
Deux also admitted that she was skeptical about buying online in the first place, and her husband had laced her up. As she had “no idea” about fashion in the first place, the inside-out dress had seemed legitimate enough to her.
Finally, when asked if she was a natural blonde, Deux claimed that she wasn’t – but she definitely fits the bill here!
If you need a laugh, it’s well worth checking out Deux’s full post on Facebook – it’ll have you giggling in no time.
