The 28-year old singer Brian Justin Crum has made quite a buzz on the popular talent show America’s Got Talent, as he mesmerized the judges and audience every single time he took the microphone in his hands.
Brian’s audition alone stole the hearts of millions when he performed a brilliant rendition of Queen’s “Somebody to Love”. While it was very clear that the audience adored him with a massive standing ovation, the four judges – including Simon – didn’t stay seated long as well. The four couldn’t believe their ears when Brian started to sing.
Brian’s backstory also touched the hearts of many. The man works for a car service in San Diego and was bullied in his school days because he was overweight and homosexual.
“I just begged (my mother) to let me live with my aunt and uncle in Oregon to have a fresh start and she let me go,” the singer explains in an interview.
Here is an overview of some of his most notable performances.
Somebody To Love – Queen
With four yesses from the judges for his Somebody to Love performance, Brian already prepared a new song to blow people away – and if you ask us, he definitely succeeded.
Creep – Radiohead
During the part of the show where all the acts that have passed must go through the so-called ‘judge cuts’, Brian performed a sublime cover of Creep by Radiohead. Once again, all four judges gave him a standing ovation sending him directly to the quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent.
“There’s good, where everyone claps and cheers during the performance. And then there’s exceptional, where everyone is so stunned and captivated that they sit in complete silence to listen. This… this was exceptional,” one viewer commented on YouTube.
Man in The Mirror – Michael Jackson
The 28-year-old impressed once again in the quarter and semifinals with great performances of “In The Air Tonight” and “Everybody Wants To Rule the World”. In the finals, Brian made a lasting impression with his take on Michael Jackson’s “Man in The Mirror” and once again, his own take on Creep by Radiohead.
Although Brian Justin Crum finished on a notable fourth place, the singer is now wildly popular thanks to his unique mesmerizing voice and likable personality. The talented singer already released a cover of “Show Me Love”, has worked together with America’s Got Talent crew after the finals and has been performing live across the entire United States ever since his appearance on the show.
