The humble bread clip is good for a lot more than just sealing those loaves. If your household eats a lot of bread, then chances are you’ve accumulated quite a lot of these thin, plastic things.

Don’t just throw those bread clips away, because they’ve got a lot of utilities if you think outside the box.

“But what kind of utilities?” you ask? Well, ever mixed up your keys? Do you happen to have two very similar-looking keys for different rooms, and can’t quite remember which one is for the front door and which one is for the bedroom?

Just take one of those old bread clips, label it, and and hang it off the keys.

Problem solved! Sure, they won’t look as pretty as store-bought key labels, but your guests aren’t going to judge the way you label your keys, are they?

Besides, while you might worry about your guests judging your method of labeling keys, at least you don’t have to worry about mixing up the keys anymore.

And it doesn’t stop there. Ever had frustrations trying to find the end of a roll of tape?

It sucks when you need to tape up something, but can’t find where the end of it is.

Just take a humble plastic bread clip and stick it on the end of the tape roll. Voila, you don’t need to worry about that anymore.

See how simple that is?

It works wonders for tangled cords and storing rubber bands too.

Keep those cords from getting tangled up by just placing a bread clip to hold the coiled-up cords in place.

It’ll sure make it easier when you need your earphones to listen to music.

And those rubber bands now have a place to store as well. You can keep them in a dry place so that the rubber keeps its elasticity.

The same, simple, plastic device can label your plants too. Just clip one around the stem and label accordingly.

By now, you might be starting to guess what other things you could use this for. Basically anything that could benefit from being held together is worth trying it on.

Like, say, a pair of socks.

If you want to make sure your socks don’t get mixed up in the drawers, the bread clip can save the day once again.

What can’t this thing do?

It’s pretty fitting that the last application I mentioned involved footwear, because that’s what we’re going to end this article on.

For those of us who live in warm places, don’t you hate it when the toe thong of your flip flops just gets yanked through the hole?

It’s such a pain to get it back in, and it’s not something you want happening if you wear flip flops a lot.

Well, a simple bread clip placed on the end of the toe thong can stop that from happening.

It plus it all up and keeps your flip flops together.
