When Ilan stepped on to The Voice Kids Germany stage, he wanted to impress the judges and have at least one chair turn for him.
This 12-year-old singer from Berlin, Germany chose to sing Queen’s “Another One Bites The Dust.” TVK Germany Season 4 judges Sascha Schmitz, Lena Meyer-Landrut, and Mark Forster were ready to listen to Ilan’s performance.
From the first note, his performance was already full of energy and the judges were dancing in their chairs. If they could, they would be dancing on their feet. Ilan’s family, with presenter Thore Schölermann backstage, was cheering and dancing while they wait for the chairs to turn.
Even the audience was on their feet, rocking along with Ilan.
When the judges still wouldn’t push their button, his family kept gesturing with their hands to push the button. But of course, the judges couldn’t see them.
The judges, however, were too busy enjoying the moment and didn’t want to push the button just yet. When judges do this, they are usually waiting for a moment in their performance where the singer pushes themselves a little more.
And when they got that moment, two judges finally pushed their buttons. Ilan’s family couldn’t hide their joy and excitement when they did.
Ilan was also excited but had to compose himself enough to finish his performance. But he couldn’t resist pumping his fist in the air when the judges turned.
His family, though, kept jumping and screaming and cheering backstage.
Judge Sascha was so excited for Ilan that he couldn’t help but run to the stage and lift Ilan up in the air.
Ilan is an extraordinary child. He speaks five languages, including Russian, German, Hebrew, English, and French. He has been singing and playing the piano since he was four years old and he’s also part of a band called Kids Groove as their singer.
Ilan proceeded to the Battles round under coach Sascha Schmitz. He competed with two other 12-year-old boys, Felix, and Maxime, and they all sang “Auf Uns” by Andreas Bourani.
The three boys rocked it out and the judges and the audience enjoyed their rock performance. It’s hard to imagine that these boys were only 12 years old during this season. They really rocked it out and made it very difficult for their coach to choose a winner.
They rocked out in sync and kept everyone’s energy up. They wanted to deliver a great performance and they gave a spectacular one.
After much deliberation, coach Sascha chose to move forward with Felix.
The Voice Kids Germany Season 4 was eventually won by soul singer, Lukas Janisch, from team Mark Forster.
Currently, he is back in his hometown, enjoying his teenage years with his family and friends.
There’s no news yet on his next musical comeback.
