The pandemic changed the lives of people all around the world in 2020. We have a lot of heroes to be grateful for that stepped up during the scary time โ especially those part of the health industry.
In the United Kingdom, they discovered a way to show appreciation to the National Health Service (NHS) through a movement called โClap For Our Carers.โ It involved a nationwide round of applause that occurred at the same time each week for a couple of months.

One young man found a special way to show his appreciation.
Cole Lam, a 13-year-old with an overflow of talent took to his front yard during a โClap For Our Carersโ event. With a wealth of videos online of his incredible skills on piano and keyboard, itโs no shock that he would be known as a local talent in his little neighborhood.
Now, he gets to use his power for great good, in supporting the nurses and paramedics living around him.

Neighbors came out of their houses to enjoy the โmini-concert.โ
Armed with only a keyboard, an amplifier, and his bucket load of talent, rather than simply standing outside and clapping to show support for the NHS, they get a real show too! And the choice of song is every bit as British as youโd expectโฆ

It was a classic hit by the rock band Queen!
Cole plays one of Queenโs most up-beat and rockinโ songs, โDonโt Stop Me Nowโ. Itโs one of those awesome rock ballads with highs and lows, alternating between big rock nโ roll swells, and soft piano intros and outros.
Thereโs no way to NOT have a great time listening to it, and represents the tenacity of the hard-working NHS in this trying time.

So all the neighbors gather and watch on in admiration.
Iโm guessing Coleโs talent is no secret to his neighbors, and it seems that they delight hugely in his little show. He wrote on YouTube:
โWe have a paramedic and a nurse as our neighbours, and itโs great that they can be here to see the appreciation, as sometimes they are working during the event. Thank you all carers, medical and support staff as well as all keyworkers for keeping the country and us going!โ

Even a cop shows up at the mini-concert.
Donโt worry, heโs not in any trouble! In fact, itโs quite the opposite. A police officer watches on proudly, offering the razzle-dazzle of his lights, and a few boops of the siren when Cole finishes. How cool is that?!

Something tells me even Freddie would be proud of this kidโs performance.
As the song reaches its natural swell, Cole rises to the occasionโฆliterally! Standing up and hammering down on his poor unsuspecting keyboard, Cole gets his neighbors rocking out. He even does that cool sweeping down the keys thing youโd expect to see in some trendy jazz and blues bar.

At the end of the performance, Coleโs neighbors give him a huge round of applause.
He definitely deserves it too! While heโs there to show his appreciation โ they wanted to show their gratitude in return for the entertaining performance. Frankly, if this kid lived in my neighborhood, Iโd probably request a nightly performance!
