When was the last time you witnessed a spelling bee?
They’re pretty cool, and even the audience tend to spell the given words in their head to see if they are in fact smarter than those smart kids on stage.
And the words can be pretty mind boggling, challenging even the parents present out there. We’re talking words we’ve never heard. Words that seem to come out of a Roald Dahl book.
And yes a lot of words given in spelling bees do sound funny.
This kid certainly didn’t hold back when he heard the word he was to spell. He didn’t bother holding back, giggling and stepping away from the microphone to relish the moment.
Sardoodledom.
That’s not a word you’ll hear just anywhere. Merriam-Webster defines Sardoodledom as, “mechanically contrived plot structure and stereotyped or unrealistic characterization in drama.”
Young Kennyi Aouad’s laugh proved to be contagious as the entire audience including the pronouncer laughed along with him.
“Considering the stress kids feel at competing at a national level and all the hard work it took to get there, it’s really nice to see a kid just being a kid laughing at a silly word.” says a viewer.
When was the last time you laughed at a silly sounding word?
Surely these kids experience jitters standing in front of a crowd all while having to think and spell a big word. Kennyi’s laughter though was anything but nervous.
It may even have helped him relax a bit.
He asks if it’s “like kingdom” but the MC doesn’t give him any clues so Kennyi goes ahead with the word saying he’ll give it a shot.
Sardoodledom… S-A-R-D-O-O-D-L-E-D-O-M.
He did it!

Kennyi gets a huge round of applause as he gets it right and that proud smile on his bright face makes this moment so awesome.
Even his fellow competitors couldn’t help but laugh at the incident. Now you have to wonder who, why, and how they came up with that word. It is a bit of a mouthful!
Here’s another thought. When was the last time you smiled like Kennyi in front of so many faces?
He was confronted with a situation he didn’t exactly know how to handle. So like a real man, Kennyi stood his ground, smiled and laughed at the situation before bravely proceeding to answer.
Sardoodledom, indeed.
Don’t take life too seriously. Find fun in any situation and laugh.
Kudos to the people who had to come up with the words for this spelling bee. They inadvertently provided the internet with entertainment and humor with just one word.
So remember when life throws you lemons, just think Sardoodledom, and laugh like this brilliant kid.
