The Voice is one of the most popular TV shows in the US, and, over the years, many singers’ stars have shone.

Like Koryn Hawthorne, who has been nominated twice for Grammys, Nicolle Galyon, who also has two Grammy nominations, or Cassadee Pope, who has found success in country music after winning season 3 in Blake Shelton’s team.

In fact, eight of Shelton’s team members have won first place in the contest over the twelve years of the show.

Since 2011 when The Voice first appeared on TV, Shelton has been there every single season, while others left the show for good or left for a while and returned later, like Kelly Clarkson.

The “Since You’ve Been Gone” singer, who appeared on the show from season 14 to season 21, said at the time that she wanted to spend more time with her family.

“It was really important, I think, to show my kids that, yes, Mommy loves work and I love to do what I do, but family is first,” Clarkson told People at the time. “So, when we need a moment to step back and we need to be together, that’s when you take the time when it is necessary.”

And, while Clarkson is returning to the popular show for season 23, Shelton has just announced that this will be his last season on The Voice.

The famous country singer and Gwen Stefani’s husband since 2021 announced that season 23 will be his last on the show only last week.

“I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after season 23,” the 46-year-old country star shared in an Instagram post.

Shelton went on to thank all the other coaches that have sat next to him over the last twelve years, all the singers that did their best hoping to get a chance to become the next music star, and all the people who work behind the cameras.

“It takes a lot of work, passion, and adult beverages (Ha!) to pull off a live show twice a week,” he explained.

He especially thanked the singers who decided to be on his team, hoping to win the contest.

And, last but not least, he didn’t forget to thank the people who have been watching the show all these years.

“Lastly, it’s about y’all, the fans, who watch and support these artists, us coaches and everyone at ‘The Voice’ chasing their dreams. It wouldn’t happen without you!” he concluded.

The Voice is now still in season 22, but soon season 23 will start, although the date has not been revealed yet.

This will be a special one, since Clarkson is back and it’s Shelton’s last one. We can definitely look forward to lots of surprises.

Along with them, Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan will make their debut as coaches, and we really can’t wait to see them all in action.
