Child abuse is an issue that affects countless children every day.
Many of these kids feel helpless and oftentimes, the abuse takes place without anyone even knowing.
For one little girl, her abuse came at the hands of her stepfather.
Her name is Fa, and when she was only 10, she was the victim of severe abuse.
When her mother found out about what had happened, she kicked her husband out of the house immediately.
But the problem didn’t end there.
According to an article by Bored Daddy, “The poor girl was left traumatized and the whole thing affected her mental state. Fa couldn’t eat properly and had a hard time sleeping as she feared her stepfather would hurt her again. She refused to take her clothes off while showering and her mother felt helpless in helping her little girl.”
Finally, her mom found an organization that she thought could help.
The organization is known as BACA, which stands for Bikers Against Child Abuse.
This club of bikers offers protection and support for victims of child abuse and allows them to get back to their normal lives without having to deal with the crippling effects of fear.
Some bikers from BACA rode over to FA’s house and met with her.
They let her know that they would be guarding her house and would be available for her to call whenever she was scared or just needed someone to talk to.
They even gave her her own biker jacket and an awesome road name.
The club commits itself to do whatever it takes to protect these children.
The organization has one member who is 6’10” and goes by the road name, Tree.
Tree says that the kids feel super safe when he is around and he loves having that effect on them.
When the club goes to meet a child for the first time, they’ll bring in the entire chapter, sometimes up to 25 bikes, and ride over to the child’s house together.
As Pipes, one of the BACA members likes to say, “The neighborhood wakes up real quick.”
The goal is to show not only the child but also the surrounding community, that there are people here that are going to keep bad things from happening.
The kids are usually a bit shy when they first meet the bikers but after a few minutes, they warm up to everyone and start to feel like a part of the group.
Just like with Fa, the bikers then give the child their own road name and a jacket with a patch on it that signifies that they are now officially part of the BACA family.
The organization then assigns two club members to follow up with the children on a weekly basis.
They check-in and make sure everything is going okay, reminding the kids that they are still there for them and always available to help.
During one child-abuse case that went to court, the little girl was asked by the judge if she was afraid.
She told him no.
When the judge asked her why not, she told him that she wasn’t afraid because her friends from BACA are scarier than her abuser is.
