Whether or not you vaccinate your children is one of the most controversial topics being discussed right now in the public forum. It seems like everyone is weighing in and everyone most certainly has a strong opinion on the issue.
Doctors have started joining in on social media to share their feelings about vaccinations and let’s just say – they’re all about shutting down the anti-vax movement.
More and more research has been shown that vaccinations are, in fact, safe. With the rise of measles in the U.S. and other diseases that could potentially rear their ugly heads – we might want to listen to these professionals.
Continue reading to get a piece of these doctor’s minds when it comes to vaxxing your children.

1) This pediatrician’s t-shirt
This woman is a pediatrician and a parent of one of her patients snapped a photo of her shirt. Taking a more lighthearted and funny route when it comes to making a statement, she’s basically letting people know that if we want to have a long, healthy life – we need to vaccinate.
2) Ouch
This sign hangs in the hallway of a medical building and, one thing is for sure, it’s blunt. Trying the guilt tactic might just be enough to change people’s minds, but you never know.
3) Breaking it down
This doctor has just about had it with hearing all of the “reasons” parents aren’t vaccinating their children. To set the record straight, he took to Twitter to make a few points. Once again, no one seems to be mincing words here.
4) Not the ‘ha ha’ kind of funny
Dr. Gorski is breaking out some statistics to try and make his point but, somehow, people out there don’t like to believe real facts. To prove this, he shows the difference of risk when it comes to measles and vaccine side effects.
5) It’s a different time
The Doc Bastard Twitter account is at it again. Hoping to make a comparison to show people how silly it is not to vaccinate your kids, this doc pokes fun at the new “hippie” movement that’s into veganism, crystals, and other “untraditional” beliefs.
6) Endangering others
Here’s a doctor explaining to people that his baby son is too young for vaccinations, therefore he’s at risk for being exposed. Dr. Clom wants anti-vaxxers to know that they’re endangering other children because of their uneducated decisions.
7) Very contradictory
Here’s a doctor trying to point out the hypocrisies that some anti-vaccination parents have. Cures and medicines to treat illnesses are okay but for some reason the medicine to prevent it in the first place is not? Very confusing.
8) Could you imagine?
Kids these days have all sorts of codes, abbreviations, and acronyms for communicating. Imagine a future where teens are messaging back and forth with these new codes. Yikes.
9) Explain this
Dr. Jon Hislop has a blunt and honest question for those that don’t believe in vaccinations. Is this poor woman who contracted measles and now in a coma faking it? I think we can all agree that, yes, measles are dangerous.
10) Men should definitely care about mumps
Here’s a doctor that wants to show why every single man should be interested in a vaccination for mumps. And to make his point – he encourages you to Google the term orchitis. Trust him – you’ll care.
11) Where’s the study on apples?!
Dr. Hislop has another Tweet to share with any anti-vaxxers out there. Using the excuse of “fully informed consent” is pretty ridiculous when you think about it. But, hey – cherry picking is fun!
12) Not cool
An anti-vax media personality showed up at a rally and used the Holocaust to describe his feelings toward doctors and pro-vaxxers. We’d have to stay this was going a bit too far, don’t ya think?
13) Taking a hard stance
This doctor is not even considering having a patient that isn’t vaccinated. He takes the time to write a long post describing his very understandable reasons. As a doctor – we might want to listen.
14) He could get in trouble
Dr. Pescatore wants to let everyone in on a little secret at his practice. Turns out, those lollipops? Yep, chock full of sugar and chemicals. But somehow those are okay, right?
15) Essential oils?
Just so parents know, essential oils are not going to protect your child from measles. They just won’t. So, you might want to take this guy’s advice and try fermented Swedish herring.
16) This pediatrician is laying down the rules
A pediatrician’s office posted this sign in the window of their practice. They decided not to put their patients’ health in jeopardy because of another person’s misinformed choice.
17) Typical
In a world of fake news and tons of misinformation out on the internet, people seem to be unable to decipher fact from fiction. Somehow, people have become totally fine with believing anything anyone says – as long as it fits their beliefs.
18) What do they know?
Even though nearly all medical experts agree that vaccinations are completely safe and, of course, WORK, there are people out there that seem to think a personal blog post is more credible. Sharon likes to live with her head in the sand.
19) Oh, it’s way worse
Refusing to vaccinate your children is not like smoking around a child. In fact, it’s way worse. This person came up with this haunting example.
20) Shaking our heads
It seems like the Western civilized world has gotten a little too comfortable these days. It seems they’ve forgotten how hellish life is in other places of the world and how great they have it.
21) Too many?
For the billionth time – vaccines are not the enemy. Dr. Hislop compares the idea of having “too many vaccines” like having too many fruits and vegetables. It just doesn’t apply.
22) Smile!
Dear Anti-Vaxxers – here is yet another study. But, you know – you probably won’t read it. But, anyway – at least this doctor was nice enough to share a sweet picture.
23) Dr. Hislop taking on hip hop
After hearing that rappers are now adding anti-vaxx lyrics into their songs, Dr. Hislop clapped back with his own lyrics. Come on now, side effects? How about the fact that you don’t have polio or measles?
24) Wait…what’s wrong with the current one?
So, let’s get this straight. We wanted to get rid of measles, found out a way to do that, but now, that’s not good enough? This doctor is confused by this person’s odd tweet. Your pro-vaxx but not the current vaxx? Hmm.
25) That’s not how it worked though
The plague argument is always a nice one that some anti-vaccination people like to use. Except they seem to forget that the reason the plague ended is because nearly everyone died. No, really – millions and millions o people.
26) Who cares about facts though?
Why is it that people seem to think they know more than doctors these days? Thanks to Google and social media outlets, apparently everyone is now an expert. No medical school required.
27) Busted
If you’re going to lie about your education then you should probably do a better job at covering your tracks. This anti-vaxx parent claimed to have a very prestigious degree, but it looks like this simply just wasn’t the case.
28) Oh, really?
The confidence this person has is off the charts. Apparently, they are not only a medical professional, but they also have some sort of psychic ability too. But, you know…logic.
29) Wrong.
Yeah, this kind of logic just isn’t going to work in this example. Vaccines weren’t meant to be taken orally just as broccoli wasn’t meant to be taken intravenously. Come on, people.
30) Wrong again
If people actually did thorough research before hopping online to spread misinformation to the masses, things could be a little different these days. But, sadly, that’s not reality.
31) Do people really think they won’t be called out?
Ladies and gentleman, here’s another person that decided to pretend to be a doctor, only to be called out because they are, in fact, self-employed. You’ll seriously pretend to be a pediatrician simply to make yourself sound more credible?
32) Some medical advances are okay
Lots of anti-vaxxers like to cherry-pick their information. We, as humans, have figured out how to help degrading eyesight, which is awesome! But vaccines? Nope!
33) Not correlated
When you make a statement online for everyone to see, you’re bound to get other people’s opinions on it. For this person, their argument completely backfired.
34) Yes, yes he is
It turns out that this person wasn’t going to give any credit to a medically qualified journalist. But, hey? What would they know? They’re only nationally recognized and all.
35) Even George vaccinated
Even George Washington had his Continental Army vaccinated against smallpox. He’d probably be rolling over in his grave if he saw his face on an anti-vaccination banner.
36) Mom’s embarrassed now
This kid decided to post an anti-vaxx meme on his page but didn’t seem to realize that he was, in fact, vaccinated. Mom had to call him out and express her embarrassment. Sorry, mom.
37) People are laughing at us
An African lawyer and writer Tweeted a “joke” about us Americans and the fully preventable measles outbreaks that are happening across the country. Looks like we’re becoming quite the laughing stock.
38) They’d rather be autistic
Even though it’s been shown that there isn’t a link to autism when it comes to vaccinations, this person with autism had a sense of humor about the whole thing.
39) They died, Carol
Lots of people use the excuse that they want to go “all natural” and anti-vaccination because it’s not the natural state of life. Well, as it turns out, there’s a lot of scary viruses and bacteria out there and if it wasn’t for science? A lot of us would still be dropping dead.
40) Not a good theory
Someone had to poke a hole in this person’s theory because it just doesn’t stand up. A simpler, more “natural” time sounds nice and all, but – it just doesn’t work like that.
41) Spoiled fools
To all the anti-vaxxers out there, there are parents in third world countries that would risk all they have to just have a vaccination. And you’re opting out just because? Y’all have to start getting some priorities straightened out.
42) All true
This Internet user highlights the need to vaccines and other people came in with some other clever and true statements. All equally valid comparisons.
43) Shot down
This parent wanted to bring the consent argument into the mix and another person chimed in with the absolute perfect response. Where is this silly logic coming from?
44) You’re not a doctor
Unless you went to medical school for 8 years and know how vaccines actually work – you’re not a doctor. So, when a doctor tells you how beneficial they are, you might want to listen.
45) Seriously?
We don’t even know where to start with this one but the Reddit user’s comment below is just priceless. The bottom line here is – please vaccinate your children.
