Not to mention the number of cheerleading films that invaded the 90s and early 2000s – you know, the ones that you just can’t help but love. But you’ve also probably wished you were part of something as fresh as this number.

One school in particular has a different take on pep rallies and boosting school spirit.

This fun “battle of the sexes” dance off had the entire student body pumped!

Heritage High School’s Hip Hop Dance Crew came up with a creative routine that consisted of the catchiest beats and incredible dance moves inspired by today’s top artists like Rihanna, BeyoncĂ©, and Bruno Mars.

The girls decided to start off the performance with bold and edgy steps to Rihanna’s “Rude Boy“.

Not even three minutes into the dance and the entire gymnasium was already cheering.

Sporting pink, long-sleeved tops with blue jackets tied around their waist, paired with leggings and sneakers, the girls showed off their rhythm and served the perfect intro to the crowd-pleasing number.

Choreographed by Hailey Publico, they definitely took Rihanna’s hit and added their own spice to it as they danced in the middle of a packed gymnasium.

You had to have amazing moves to have the crowd roaring like that!

It only got better as the boys took their place and waited for their turn. Dressed in black from head to toe, complete with sunglasses, the boys decided the best answer to the girls’ first number was a fresh take on “Earned It” by The Weeknd. With choreography courtesy of Zhill Olonan, the male members of the dance crew moved with confidence.

Their guys had the crowd screaming and clapping as they danced.

The audience couldn’t wait to see what the girls had in store for them next.

And the girls definitely did not disappoint.

This time, it was a different set of steps set to 7/11 by Beyoncé.

To which the guys answered by showing off their moves to Missy Elliott’s “Get Ur Freak On“, choreographed by Isaiah Aumua.

As the beat picked up, so did the cheering, the screams, and the applause from the crowd.

The playful trade off left the audience anticipating what the dance crew would pull off next. And since every intro needs an epic ending, the dancers made sure they concluded their number with a bang. They couldn’t have picked a more perfect track to dance to, either.

Uptown Funk” by Mark Robson featuring Bruno Mars came on and the dancers once more prepared to take their places, this time with both male and female members.

The whole crowd went wild as the dancers sauntered to the middle of the gymnasium.

Not only did the members of the dance crew look like they were just having fun, but they showed incredible team work, too!

The final number, choreographed by Maggie Winding and Allister Magalued, was the cherry on top of a fun and fresh dance performance. It’s not easy to come up with different choreography for five songs, tie them together, and rehearse.

Heritage High School’s Hip Hop Dance Crew definitely killed it with this one – watch below!
