Those that have an appreciation for Ballet will recognize the name Igor Moseyev. He is highly recognized for his choreographic brilliance when it comes to character dance.
The Igor Moseyev Dance Troup
This group of dancers was getting ready for their concert program.
As with any dancers or performers, it means several practice sessions and rehearsals. This is where mistakes are made and corrected. To the point where the rehearsal is done over and over again until it is perfect.
No Mistakes Made
During one particular rehearsal that was caught on video, it was so flawless that it looked like the performance itself.
Dance Rehearsal Process
The dance performance had a theme to it. As such each section of the dance had to be rehearsed.
The Rehearsal Segments
The concert was made up of several different types of dances, and each of them had to be rehearsed individually.
Azerbaijani dance “Shepherds”
The dancers here used poles as props that would assist them with their moves. As the pole ends hit the floor in sync with the music it created an amazing impression. The dancers relied on the sticks for their flips that were absolutely amazing.
Russian dance “Summer”
This pair of dancers went through their dance routine like they had been doing it their entire lives. The looks on their faces clearly shows how much they enjoy it. The bright red shoes that the lady dancer is wearing immediately draws attention to her feet, so everyone can appreciate her talent.
Romanian dance “Bryul”
The pair of dancers become encircled with the rest of the dancers and this makes the transition into the Bryul.
Argentine dance “Malambo”
This starts off as very slow and while it looks nice observers may think that it is nothing impressive. However, as the speed of the music increases and the long chain of dancers speed up in unison to it it creates a spectacular moment.

This is highlighted by four of the dancers. Their footwork is dazzling and even their body positions are so lined up that they appear as one.
The Entourage
This is a large entourage of dancers that are in the rehearsal. One would think that when they were not doing their part that there would be chatter as they stood by the sidelines. This is not so, as each dancer is laser-focused on when they are to enter into the routine. It is this level of concentration and focus that turned this rehearsal into a performance.
Subtle Instructions
Throughout the routine someone could be heard giving directions. This was being done in such a way that it did not cause any distraction to the other dancers at all.
Out of all these dancers not one of them looked as if they did not want to be there. Many of their moves were complex and difficult. Yet, nobody faltered. There was no having to stop and start because of corrections.
If you are not able to see the actual performance you will not be disappointed watching the rehearsal.
