Just like every school year, 400 Philidelphia teachers gathered for their orientation to the upcoming school year. They sat waiting for their first lesson without students, but were surprised when instead of a speaker, music started playing. The group was not ready for some of the staff from the charter school to put together a whole flash mob performance to the tune of “Anything Can Happen” from the famous Mary Poppins movie.

String Theory Schools, or the Philidelphia Performing Arts Charter High School, is a school dedicated to students with interests in instrumental or vocal music, ballet, theater, digital communication, and also science and technology. The students not only get a diverse curriculum but fieldwork opportunities as well. With four campuses spanning kindergarten through high school, they are offering a lot of students a lot of opportunities that may be disappearing from other traditional schools. With a staff that cares about each other as much as they care about their students, it’s no doubt that they will have a successful school year- every year.
