Having loving grandparents is truly a blessing for any child.
Grandparents have a unique way of showering their grandchildren with affection.
They offer warm hugs, sweet treats, and endless kindness.
For parents, this involvement is invaluable, as it provides a sense of support and community.
Not only do grandparents help shape the character of their grandchildren, but they also provide much-needed assistance, like babysitting, which is a huge relief for busy moms and dads.
Stephanie Waterhouse and her husband are well aware of this blessing.
They feel incredibly fortunate to have a wonderful grandpa in their family.
He is more than willing to babysit their young son, Ty. So,
when the couple decided to go on a trip, they knew that baby Ty would be in great hands with his “Pawpaw.”
However, what they didn’t anticipate were the hilarious texts and photos they would receive while away, courtesy of Pawpaw’s antics.
After they started getting the texts, Stephanie couldn’t resist sharing them online.
Before long, the internet was laughing along with them.
The Waterhouses are a military family, so they are used to a certain level of discipline.
But as it turns out, they’re far from the strict, no-nonsense type.
Their sense of humor shines through, especially when it comes to family moments like these, revealing a fun-loving side that they cherish deeply.
The fun began when Stephanie asked her dad, David, if he could stay with their eight-month-old son while they were out of town.
David, affectionately known as “Pawpaw,” didn’t hesitate to accept the babysitting job.
He even flew in from Dallas, Texas, to spend time with his grandson.
What the Waterhouses didn’t realize was that David had planned a little surprise to keep them entertained during their trip, showing just how creative he could be.
Despite not being particularly tech-savvy, David still found a way to keep the laughs coming.
He uses an old-school flip phone without internet access.
Yet, he decided to create a series of funny photos featuring baby Ty lying next to humorous messages printed on pieces of paper, making his very own “memes.”
Each note was a playful message from Ty, cleverly composed by Pawpaw himself, demonstrating his knack for humor and his love for his grandson.
One photo they received showed baby Ty next to a sign that read, “Dad and Mom – I met a girl.
Grandpa said that Godfather Danny would be proud. Love, Ty.”
It was clear David had put a lot of effort into making these memes both unique and funny.
Knowing he might struggle with the family printer, he prepared all the messages beforehand on his home computer.
His dedication to making his daughter and son-in-law laugh is truly heartwarming.
David didn’t stop at just one joke.
Another picture showed a note saying, “Dad and Mom – We looked at Jeeps today. Can I get a license early? I liked the red one. Love, Ty.”
The humor and creativity in these messages brought joy to everyone who saw them.
Clearly, even baby Ty had developed a taste for adventure, perhaps influenced by the family’s military background, and Pawpaw’s light-hearted take on babysitting duties.
But David didn’t keep Ty cooped up at home.
He took his grandson on a little adventure, even stopping to snap a photo in front of the Jeep that Ty supposedly liked.
These spontaneous and humorous moments demonstrated that, despite his self-proclaimed lack of tech skills, David knows how to create a good laugh and unforgettable memories.
With a dad who’s always been a bit of a joker, Stephanie and her husband weren’t entirely surprised by the funny photos.
They knew that with Pawpaw around, their son was in good hands, allowing them to enjoy their vacation worry-free.
