Kids just donโ€™t appreciate naps. And by the time people feel like they really need them, theyโ€™re older and too busy to actually take one!

Of course, babies need shut-eye during the day unless you want to deal with some serious crankiness (which is no fun for anyone).

Although a nap is a healthy activity for a baby or toddler, it doesnโ€™t mean theyโ€™re always going to like it.

Can you really blame them though? When there are toys to be played with and cartoons to watch โ€“ going to sleep might not be top priority.

One mom captured the most adorable footage after discovering her baby wasnโ€™t napping like she was supposed to be. But instead of the sweetheart laying back down, she decided to amplify the cuteness.

Kids are known for trying to be sneaky. However, little do they know parents have eyes like hawks, ears like dogs, and a heck of a lot more life experience.

The mom in the video below knows her one-year-old daughter is still awake in her playpen. It should be the girlโ€™s naptime, so she decides to walk back into the room.

Sure enough, the baby is sitting up in the corner of her crib. Gotcha!

Older children might close their eyes quickly and break out the old โ€œfake snoringโ€ act if a parent were to catch them still awake. Babies, of course, donโ€™t know that trick yet.

Mom asks her daughter,

โ€œUmmmโ€ฆwhereโ€™s sleeping? What are you doing?โ€

The girlโ€™s got an empty bottle and is playing with her stuffed animal. When mom approaches she excitedly hops right up. But instead of focusing on the โ€œsleep questionโ€ the baby asks, โ€œWhereโ€™d Daddy go?โ€ Oh, I see what youโ€™re trying to do, kidโ€ฆ

Okay, letโ€™s get back to the question.

Mom tries again and asks, โ€œArenโ€™t you supposed to be sleeping?โ€ This time there was no skirting around it and the baby happily agrees, โ€œYeah!โ€

But letโ€™s face it, itโ€™s pretty clear no sleeping is going on in this room right now.

Since mom has her admitting to it, she wants some action. She sweetly says, โ€œLetโ€™s see it,โ€ only to have her daughter realize whatโ€™s going onโ€ฆ

The baby responds, โ€œOhโ€ฆ.โ€ then so perfectly exclaims, โ€œI did it!โ€ Now, maybe it was a really fast cat nap, but something tells me that just isnโ€™t the truth. Nice try, cutie pie!

When all else fails, just act adorable and pretend like you have no idea what someoneโ€™s talking about.

In the video, mom brings up โ€œsleepingโ€ again and the girl starts out by acting shocked. However, she has no excuse, so she takes the silent road instead.

The woman then asks, โ€œDid you forget?โ€ Happy as a clam the girl exclaims โ€œYeah!โ€ and claps her hands. Likely sheโ€™s thinking, โ€œThanks for the excuse, Mom โ€“ I had run out of ideas.โ€

Okay, now itโ€™s really time for you to take a nap.

After mom mentions the whole โ€œsleep topicโ€ again, the baby asks again, โ€œWhereโ€™d Daddy go?โ€ What, weโ€™re back to square one of changing topics?

The girl is so precious and sweet that itโ€™s no wonder you could hear laughter in momโ€™s voice during their interaction. Eventually, the baby lays her head on the top of the playpen for her nap (uh, that doesnโ€™t count).

For being just a wee-little one, sheโ€™s sure a smart cookie whoโ€™s good at trying to avoid naptime!
