We can have a lot of fun with babies. We know, we know — that sounds like a strange thing to say. But what we mean is that we can play peek-a-boo, dance around, and play all kinds of fun games that we wouldn’t really be able to play with, well, a regular-sized person.
This is partly because babies find nearly everything to be fascinating. Everything is new to them, of course, so it is not hard for them to be intrigued and excited when you do something that might seem normal to you.
Sometimes, they react in ways you wouldn’t expect and it turns out to be super cute and funny.
In June 2018, a clip was uploaded of a mother and her baby and it earned hundreds of thousands of views because it was exactly that: Charming and funny.
At the beginning of the video, the mother begins to sing “Never Enough” by Loren Allred from the hit musical, The Greatest Showman (the original song actually went platinum). And to be clear, she isn’t just singing. She is putting on an entire show complete with dramatic backing music and all.
The mother actually proves to be an incredible singer right off the bat too — like on a professional level.
As the sweet mother sings with all her might — with all of the theatricality and drama — she is gently holding her baby and lifting her up. She looks into her eyes and sings with so much love it warms our hearts.
At first, the baby doesn’t seem to think much of it. She looks relaxed in her mother’s arms as she simply watches her sing. Maybe she is a little bit confused, but she is watching and definitely intrigued by what is happening.
After a couple of seconds of watching her mom sing, the baby switches gears and starts to look like she is really happy. She tilts her head back slightly and makes a noise. It sounds like she is happy — and then she even cracks a little smile.
It almost looks as if the baby is trying to sing along! And she is clearly so relaxed and happy to be there as her mom continues to sing.
Every few seconds, the baby cracks a smile and it is the purest, cutest thing of all time.
You can really feel the connection between the mother and her child as they look at each other and smile from cheek to cheek. It is a beautiful spark of love.
“She sounds like a Disney princess,” one person commented on the video. Which, they are not wrong — she totally does.
“I assume this woman is a professional singer. Her voice is way beyond ‘good,'” another person wrote. “I did not expect to hear a voice like that,” another person commented in astonishment.
Maybe if the mother continues to keep singing to her baby, the young child will learn and be inspired and also grow up to become a magnificent singer. We have complete faith!
