Being a baby is so dang exciting. There are so many new things babies get to experience and every time they experience them for the first time, they are beside themselves. It is so pure and adorable.
There’s a baby’s first word, first steps, and first holiday celebration. But perhaps what is one of the most exciting firsts is a baby’s first snow day! The vision of snow is overwhelmingly amazing if you are not used to it, and along with it come so many fun activities like building snowmen, having snowball fights, and building tiny igloos.
In 2013, this little girl said hello to her very first snow day and her reaction was priceless. Luckily for her (and us too, duh), the whole thing was captured on video, too. So we can watch it whenever we are in need of some happy vibes.
At the beginning of the video, the little girl is being led outside by an adult. She is all bundled up in the cutest snow gear — it’s very puffy and head-to-toe pink. She’s also wearing the cutest pink hat.
As soon as she steps outside, she goes wild. “Woah, woah, woah!” She screams, pointing at the snow. Clearly she had no idea what to expect because this was blowing her mind.
She lets go of the adult’s hand and power walks over to the snow outside. She is still making noises and looks down as she gently kicks the snow with her feet. She gets a good hard look at it too — as if she really cannot believe what her eyes are seeing.
Pure magic!
To this child, the snow was pure magic. She looked at it like it was an alien that had fallen from the sky — a really big, wet, and cold alien.
After a quick pause, the little girl runs deeper into the snow. You can tell that she is really feeling each and every footstep as she makes footprints with her big snow boots. She is excited but she also takes her time to let all of the sensations settle in.
The toddler takes a few more steps forward to get deeper into the snow and then pauses again. Now that she is outside and fully committed to the snow, she looks up and appears to be taking it all in. It is so pure and precious.
At one point, she turns around to the adults almost looking like she’s saying, “Are you seeing this?” Not only was she so excited, but she wanted to make sure everyone else was in on the magic as well.
The rest of the world thought it was precious too. While the clip is short, it has half a million views with tons of lovely comments encouraging the child’s sweet curiosity.
If anything, this cute little video is a friendly reminder to never take life for granted. Appreciate the small moments and remember that life is actually pretty amazing! Have the enthusiasm of this little gal!
