It’s funny how well we tend to remember the ‘first times’ in life. Whether it’s a first kiss, a first flight, or a first taste of our favorite foods, these special moments stand out in our minds and memories forever more.
For babies, pretty much everything is a first, and one adorable little munchkin has captured the hearts of people around the world after getting her first ever taste of everyone’s favorite frosty treat: ice cream.
The beautiful baby girl is already addicted to the good stuff, and thanks to her parents filming the moment and sharing it on Instagram, we can all share in her pure, unfiltered happiness.
California mom Brittani Jernigan and her husband Derek enjoy sharing little moments from their two daughters’ lives on social media for the world to enjoy, but little did they know when they stepped into a local Baskin Robbins ice cream parlor that they were about to capture one of the most precious moments of all.
They brought their baby girl, Blakely, along for the trip. Blakely is 9 months old and, like many other babies out there, she’s very curious and inquisitive, always eager to see new things and learn more about the world around her.
So, it was only natural that when she saw a colorful ice cream cone being held right in front of her face, she just had to reach out her teeny tiny tongue and give it a try.

She seems a little surprised, probably due to the frosty temperature of this sweet treat, but suddenly, her eyes widen with delight as the sweet flavors hit her and she heads back for more.
The funniest part of the whole thing is what Brittani does next.
She actually raises her little arms and grabs onto the ice cream with both hands.
The cold doesn’t seem to bother her as she digs into the scoop and claims it for her own, even as her dad starts to yell out “Let go! Let go!”
Instead of letting go, Blakely wrestles the ice cream closer to her mouth and dives in for another big bite. She just can’t get enough of that yummy taste, and now that she’s had her first ever experience of ice cream, we’re sure she’s going to need more and more in the weeks, months, and years to come.
Brittani and Derek thought they were taking an innocent little trip to a local ice cream shop. Instead, they gave their adorable little daughter the first of many mouthfuls of ice cream and turned her into an online celebrity too.
