Most animals, particularly those that live in the wild, are quite comfortable living by themselves. They are perfectly fine with just being around animals of their kind.
On the other hand, there are animals that look for more affection. These animals are the ones that are likely to be unexpected visitors to people’s properties. They show up unannounced and leave as soon as they’re able to give their greetings.
From squirrels dropping by to cool off to raccoons looking for temporary shelter, the photos below show the cutest animals giving their humans their warmest greetings.
1. Unlikely Friends
Every morning, a friendly deer comes into the yard to greet its favorite cat. The two of them are best friends. They love playing together.
2. Doorbell Ditch
The doorbell at this house kept ringing, but every time they went to check to see who it was, there was no one at the door. It turns out, it was a little lizard ringing the bell. He just wanted some attention.
3. Neighborhood Cats
A few weeks ago, the family saw a stray kitten outside their home and decided to give it some food. It might have been a mistake. Every day now, more and more of them keep showing up.

Here is another raccoon who has made himself at home. The family walked out the front door to find him relaxing on one of their chairs. He wasn’t startled to see them at all.

Normally, wild animals are pretty skittish. However, not this raccoon. He has made himself right at home on the family’s porch and stops by all of the time now.
6. Accidental Adoption
What would you do if a random kitten showed up at your house one day unannounced? This family decided to adopt him. They didn’t know where he came from, but it didn’t matter. They instantly fell in love.
7. New Neighbors
The family moved into their new house and wouldn’t you know it, some of the neighbors came by to welcome them to the area. The two of them were checking out who the new occupants of the home were.
8. Cute Fox Cub
At this farm, there is a chicken pen out back. One day a baby fox snuck in to visit the birds. It didn’t harm any of them. It was just hanging out.
9. Seal Surprise
“This little guy jumped onto our boat strolled into the cabin and made himself at home on the couch,” explains the man. They were out on sailing around and the friendly seal simply hopped on board.
10. Unexpected Passengers
This person left their car door open for a minute while they went inside. When they came back out, there were two deer fawns hanging out in the front seat. They figured they could hitch a ride.
11. Ice Bath
It must be pretty hot outside. This squirrel laid down on top of the bowl of ice and completely passed out. It is finally getting some relief from the blazing hot weather.
12. Wise Little Owl
This man accidentally left the window open to his truck. When he went back in the next day, there was an owl waiting for him. It jumped onto his arm and used it as a perch.
13. Late Night Intruder
If you live in Arkansas, seeing raccoons is a pretty regular occurrence. If you turn on your porch light at night, don’t be surprised if you find one of them lounging around. They are not afraid of humans at all.
14. Lost Pup
It’s always sad when puppy’s get lost. This one showed up randomly at a home in the neighborhood looking for help. She was scared, dirty, and tired of being alone.
15. Peeping Snake
Check out who’s peaking through the window. It’s a small snake. They probably won’t invite it into the home anytime soon, but it is pretty cute.
16. Stealing The Dog Toy
It seems like foxes love having fun with tennis balls just as much as dogs do. The fox found the ball in the yard and was caught on the person’s security camera playing with it. Foxes are very spirited animals.
17. Hungry Rabbit
The baby rabbit was hanging out a lot around the woman’s work. She started feeding him carrots. Now, they say hello to each other every day.
18. Young Visitor
This little deer can’t be more than a few weeks old. It is so tiny and cute. It is still exploring the area and learning about how the world works.
19. New Pet
At this house, a big buck started coming to visit the dog and cat. The owners got him his own bed so all three of the animals could lay together on the porch and relax. They are one big happy family now.
20. Gentleman Toad
When the man noticed that a little toad kept hopping onto his porch, he decided to start making hats for the reptile. This is one of our favorites. The pink top hat and monocle look fantastic on the toad.
21. Cat Taxi
Some cats have no regard for the rules of regular society. This one jumped into the car and wouldn’t leave the driver alone. It wanted to go for a ride with him.
22. Post Lunch Nap
Squirrels love bird feeders. It’s an easy source of sustenance for them. This greedy little bugger ate so much that it put him to sleep.
23. Breakfast Buddies
Look who showed up expecting breakfast again. It’s a quokka. They are known as one of the world’s happiest species because they are always smiling.
24. Sudden Cat Ownership
This man didn’t own a cat or want a cat. However, the cat showed up at the door one day and the two of them bonded immediately. The cat latched on and wouldn’t let go.
25. Coming Home
Both of these cuties were born in the person’s yard in the spring. Now, several seasons later and they still come to visit their birthplace quite often. It was their first home.
26. Just Stopping In
Baby animals are some of the most common visitors to homes. They don’t yet have all of the inhibitions that the adult animals do. They are extra friendly.

When this person opened their door in the morning to head to work, there was a baby raccoon sitting on the ledge. It wanted some love. They picked him up and named him Bandito.

This individual came home to find a cat with a litter of kittens chilling at her house. She does not own a cat. She has no idea where it came from.

“Every morning my grandmother feeds this squirrel a peanut, so every morning it shows up at her door. This was him today,” the grandkid explains. The squirrel has become very accustomed to its daily treat.
30. Seal Kayaker
Imagine kayaking in the ocean and a seal jumps up to join you. That’s what happened to this paddler in New Zealand. The fun-loving seal loved riding on the floating boat.

A sea otter came up to greet this ocean kayaker. It was a pleasant surprise. The friendly animal just wanted to see what he was up to.

The man’s brother said he heard someone knocking at the door. They went to check who it was. A little owl was tapping its beak on the window.

Here we have another house that gets regular fox visits. The nosy animal shows up at the window all of the time. It is super curious about people.

One duck showing up on the deck is a fun surprise, but how about dozens of them. That’s what happened at this home after they fed one. The next day, all of the others arrived.

This barn owl sure knows how to camouflage itself. It blends in perfectly with the siding of the person’s porch. Although, anyone who is paying attention would definitely notice it.

In Australia, there are all kinds of interesting visitors that stop by. Every once and a while, a kangaroo might even invite itself into your living room. It’s pretty crazy to think about.

There is a swimming pool in this family’s backyard. One day, they found a little turtle swimming around in it. It was enjoying the beautiful summer weather.

This tiny chipmunk was discovered all alone in the grass. The mother was nowhere in sight. The man knew he had to rescue the little guy.

It’s not very often that a seal swings by to visit. However, when you live close to the beach anything is possible. That’s what this photo proves.

This random visitor showed up at man’s guest house one morning. She is adorable. If we ever got a visit from a cute kitten like this, it would make our day.
45. Growing Family
“This guy came to my house on Labor Day and the squatter won’t leave. Checked humane society and he’s a free agent. Our vet has done his thing. This was his look after his ‘procedure’. Welcome to the family Ranger,” writes the man. The family welcomed the pup with open arms.
46. Pet Me
The most adorable part about this cat is his heart-shaped black nose. He showed up in the parent’s garden one day and took everyone by surprise. He just wanted to be petted.

The family thought a burglar was trying to get into their house, but it was just a big snapping turtle. Its intentions were completely pure. However, we wouldn’t recommend putting your fingers near its mouth.

Here we have another hungry dog. The stray always shows up at the woman’s work looking for food. He is a big fan of handouts. Whatever, you can give him, he’ll gladly take.

The neighbor’s dog is on great terms with everyone on the block. It always runs around and visits people who are cooking. It’s hoping for a snack.

It was 4:45 AM in the morning when the man woke up to a meowing outside of his apartment. It was this little kitten trying to get in. It had come to the wrong door.
51. Bobcat Explorers
These two were found exploring the family’s porch. They might look like cute little house cats, but the truth is that they’re bobcats. Who knows what sort of mischief they’re up to.
52. Wild Parrot
This visitor showed up at a condo in Panama City Beach, Florida. It’s a little green parrot. It turns out, he enjoys bread and bananas very much.
53. Warm Couch
“There has been a stray cat outside of my house since summer. Today we decided to let him inside to stay warm and a few hours later we found him like this!” explains the man. The cat instantly made himself right at home.
54. Sleeping Baby
The baby fawn decided the back yard was a great place to take a nap. The owner of the house noticed it while he was out mowing the lawn. The fawn didn’t even try to run away.

It’s hard to get any work done when a hawk is staring at you through the window. The bird is really distracting. Hopefully, it doesn’t decide to hang out there on the regular.

What would you do if you walked into your garage and saw this crazy owl staring back at you? It’s a bit frightening. The owl looks a lot bigger when its wings are up in the air like that.

Even when you are working, animals might pop in to say hello. The Verizon employee was out doing his job and a cat jumped into the truck. It wanted the man to take a break.

When you’re staying in a cabin out in nature, there is no telling what you might see. This man had a fox come up to his doorstep. It wanted to come in.
59. Shower Greeting
In the middle of the night, a tiny possum snuck into this person’s house. It was discovered in the morning hanging off of the showerhead in their bathroom. It was just chilling.
60. Best Friends Forever
This man raised the little squirrel from the time it was a baby. Once it grew up, he released it into the wild. It still comes back to visit almost every day.
61. Where Did It Come From?
When the man went to sleep on the couch, there was no cat. He doesn’t own a cat. However, when he woke up, there was one sitting on his lap.
62. Chimney Entrance
“This morning, my parents were woken by the sound of this guy flying through their lounge after falling down the chimney,” the son explains. The crafty owl found its way into the home in the middle of the night.
63. Scarlet Tanager
It’s always a nice surprise when pretty birds fly over to hang out on the deck. This one is incredibly beautiful. We love the red and orange colors.

Horned lizards aren’t the cutest animals, but they sure are cool. It’s pretty rare to find one. It looks like they don’t even really mind being picked up either.

Houses aren’t the only places that attract cats. This one was found on a person’s boat. It was ready to go out to sea with the family.

This deer is not phased by people at all. It walked right up to the man while he was spending time at his cabin in the mountains. The curious deer wouldn’t leave him alone.

Not one but three puppies actually showed up on this woman’s porch. They were all different colors. It is just about the cutest gang that we have ever seen
68. Seizing The Opportunity
The man opened his window to have a smoke. When he turned around for a second, a cat started crawling in. It wanted to escape the cold weather.
69. The Great Chase
The family cat was sure excited when she saw this little red squirrel running around inside the home. She chased it into the bathroom and it hid behind the showerhead. It was a very eventful day.
70. Save Me Please
Look at the sad eyes on this stray kitten. He showed up at door one day asking for help. Of course, the family couldn’t resist bringing him inside.

Moose kept stealing the crab apples from the tree at this Canadian residence. Just look at the two smiling thieves. It is a very Canadian problem to have.

It’s not very often that a peacock shows up on the back porch. However, that’s exactly what happened at this home. The beautiful bird was parading around on the railing.

This garage got a visit from a whole family of cranes. They were exploring the area and looking for food. They are pretty common in Florida in the winter.
