Have you ever seen a horse that looked like a mythical beast or a a moth as big as an eagle? These animals will both frighten you and warm your heart. Some are as tiny as an ant while others wouldn’t fit in a horse trailer.
1) Meet Petra
This little mouse’s name is Petra. She is only 11 days old and is as cute as she’s ever going to be. She drinks from the end of a paintbrush and is no bigger than your pinky finger. Still afraid of mice?
2) This Is What Half-Wolf Looks Like
Supposedly this dog is half wolf. But you know, that’s all the info we have on him. I’m not sure if the other half is bear or if the wolf is a dire wolf because that boy is a big one. Imagine this as a guard dog.
3) Try Treating This Guy
The new vet assistants are extra careful when they come across a dog like this. But everyone else knows that he’s a sweetheart. Some call him a mammoth, others call him a bear, but inside, he’s just a puppy.
4) With My Best Friend
You may be seeing double, but right here we have a dog and a pony. The two are good friends and in this case, the dog is walking the pony. Do you think they take turns or is the dog the boss here?
5) The Real Leatherbacks
This sea turtle is known a the Leatherback Sea Turtle, or even the luth, lute turtle. It would be pretty crazy to see one up close but it reminds us that those giant sea turtles in anime are indeed real.
6) Why Hello, Pascal
This chameleon looks exactly like Pascal from Tangled and looks like he has the same personality. However, this one is just a little guy who can fit on your fingertip. He sure would be a fun buddy to have around.
7) Ever Seen An Anteater?
This baby anteater is cuter than I could have imagined. In books and stories, anteaters never shine. But in real life they are as cute and cuddly as a baby sloth. And we all know how popular sloths are these days.
8) Twinkle Twinkle Patrick Star
While some starfish are as big as your hand, other’s are as tiny as a fingernail. At first glance, these two look like bugs of some sort, but the starfish is actually from the same family as sea urchins and sea cucumbers.
9) Who Doesn’t Love Owls?
Who? Who? Everyone loves owls these days but that doesn’t make this owl any less surprisingly adorable. He just took a bath and has bright eyes staring at you. Owls are one of the most majestic creatures still living.
10) Sphynx For Everything
He really appreciates the help during birth. This is what a baby sphynx cat looks like and it makes me want one and I’m not even a cat person. It’s like a feline naked mole rat and we all know naked mole rats are amazing.
11) Runt And Paxie
So, here we have a Flemish Giant rabbit taking his afternoon nap beside his Shetland Sheepdog friend. The two are inseparable, and it’s a good thing they are different colors or they’d make a rug!
12) Six More Weeks Of Cuddles
Nope, he’s not a groundhog, he’s a beaver whose mom found her way to a rehab center before he was born. He is doing amazing so far and is now two years old and likely released back into the wild.
13) World’s Biggest Frog . . . or not?
Turns out this is the world’s biggest frog. It looks like he weight a ton. Since the Goliath Frog only reaches about a foot in length, many are calling this photoshopped. But you know, let us dream.
14) Who Wouldn’t Want To Cuddle That?
This twenty pound rabbit is named Sluffy. Her name was derived from the names Fluffy amd Snuffalupagus. That is a perfect name and will now make us all dream of cuddling giant bunnies.
15) Afraid Of Bugs?
If you’re afraid of bugs, this probably makes you quite nervous. Kinda cute, kinda horrible. It’s called an Elephant Beetle and it’s relatively harmless. But that doesn’t make it any less scary, now does it?
16) Sumo Jelly
This guy is known as the Nomura’s Jellyfish from Japan. He’s almost seven feet tall and almost 500 pounds. Some call him the Sumo Jelly because of his size and origin. I wouldn’t want to meet him in the ocean.
17) Sloths Are The Bomb
Sloths are definitely one of the cutest, most relatable animals in existence. Look at this cute little guy just bigger than this man’s hand. It would be a blessing to hold one of these docile beings.
18) Not Just A Little Colt
You’ve seen big horses, now look at this little angel. His name is Tank and he’s from Texas. Yes, he’s full grown and not a pony nor a colt. He’s actually full-grown and this is what he’ll always look like.
19) I Feel Safe
This lady is happy because she has a giant, loyal dog who would do anything to protect her. Look at his sweet face. It’s amazing how large creatures like this are so calm and yet could do so much damage if they wanted to.
20) They Are Fierce
Hedgehogs are amazing. Not only are they the inspiration for some of the coolest characters but they scare away sankes and have soft prickles. They make pretty good pets actually and are nicer than hamsters.
21) Don’t Open That Can
Again, worms are harmless but they do creep a lot of people out. I wouldn’t blame anyone for being frigthened of this guy. I bet he’d catch a shark if your hook was strong enough. Otherwise, he’s just a strange pet.
22) Finger Friends
Have you ever heard of the popular kids’ toy Fingerlings? Well, this is what they were inspired by. These tiny monkeys fit on your finger and love to hug it tight. Makes them think of their mama.
23) Steve Irwin Would Be Proud
This giant manta ray is rather scary. They are endangered and can grow to over 1000 pounds. That is not a stingray you want to mess with, but it looks like this guy needed a little but of help.
24) Those Some Good Hugs
Have you ever seen one of these? It looks like a giant mudpuppy or salamander, but in truth, I have no idea what it is. But then again, I’d rather not meet one in person, even though they look friendly.
26) Dun Dun Dun
Have you ever wondered why the ants submitted to the grasshoppers on A Bug’s Life? Well, imagine a grashopper that’s bigger than you. One that could eat your arm like this one is eating that carrot.
26) He Broke A Record
His name is Big Jake and he’s the world’s tallest horse. Imagine a horse that is twice as tall as you are. That may feel like riding a warhorse but it’s nothing to joke about. Let’s hope Big Jake is friendly.
27) Another Nightmare
Why must so many of these large creatures be nightmare fuel? Why not more big bunnies or pretty birds? But nope. We get centipedes and probably snakes before too long. No thanks!
28) One, Two, Three
Count Von Count would love this guy but I think I’d like to pass. Meet the largest bat on earth, the Pemba Flying Fox with an average wingspan of six feet. Now that’s quite a bat if you ask me.
29) I’ll Take It
Although eagles can be scary, they are cool enough that it doesn’t matter, especially compared to our other entries. This harpy eagle is one of the largest in the world and it looks like he has a buddy.
30) Achatina?
These look like giant achatinas but they are actually just a large snail. They are slimey and grotesque but in a way, they are kind of amazing too. Just try not to imagine one sliding down your back.
31) Feeding Time
He may be derpy but he’s intimidating enough that it doesn’t matter. This guy is so cute and funny looking that he’ll be a meme before we know it. And to think he chooses to eat small fish.
32) Not Just A Chameleon
This chameleon is known as the brookesia, native to Madagascar. It is known as the world’s smallest chameleon and one of the smallest reptiles as well. Look at your finger and imagine he’s no longer than your fingernail.
33) Not Even An Irwin
No one would want to face this crocodile. He’s bigger than any human in existence and could break you in two with one chomp. Yet these people are baiting him so they can take pictures.
34) Crabs Anyone?
These crabs are known as Coconut Crabs. They aren’t extremely dangerous but I wouldn’t want to challenge one. They can’t swim but can climb trees and get coconuts. That’s what their pincers are for. Cracking coconuts.
35) I Think Not
I love riding horses but riding this behemoth might be too much for me. He is nineteen hands or 6’4″ at the shoulder. That is a tall horse with such a lean body. No, those people are not short either.
36) That’s Quite The Ante
This little bunny’s head is almost bigger than its body. It might just be the cutest little thing in the world and I would pay money to hold it in my hands. It’s so fluffy and fits on a playing card.
37) Let’s Call Her Ruby
This is a tiny Ruby-Throated Hummingbird. Have you ever held such a tiny bird in your hand? Imagine it’s tiny beating heart against your them and it’s wiggling feathers, ready for flight.
38) The Other Side Of Starfish
You’ve seen tiny starfish, and now you’ve seen giant starfish. Beleive it or not, this isn’t even the biggest one ever caught. The biggest sea star ever recorded was 40 inches long! Imagine the surprise.
39) That A Baby Ferret?
This may look like a baby ferret but it’s actually another picture of Petra, the most adorable baby mouse that you’ve ever seen. Rodents aren’t so bad, they’re intelligent, sweet, and look adorable as babies.
40) Ataccus Atlas
That is his name, which makes him even cooler. I’d name my kid Ataccus Atlas. This guy can have a surface area of over 60 square inches. He lives in Southeast Asia and is no doubt the coolest moth that ever lived.
