Most people at the age of nine can barely manage to confidently hit even one note of a song (going purely off personal experience!), but some nine-year-olds however, are luckier than others. Some children are born with incredible talent, and some even have the opportunity to showcase it to the world at a very early age.
Amira Willighagen is one such person.
And she did a breathtaking rendition of โOh Holy Nightโ that is a must-see! Performing at The Hague in The Netherlands, she blew audiences away with her voice which shows her to be beyond her years!
Where does such a juggernaut of talent come from? Is she literally an angel?
She was only born in 2004, and in 2013 at the age of nine, she won the sixth season of Hollandโs Got Talent. A short while after this, she performed many times in both The Netherlands, and South Africa and has so far enjoyed a highly successful career for such a bright young talent.
Amira doesnโt only reap the benefits of fame and fortune however, she gives back too!
South Africa was once colonised in-part by dutch settlers, and because of this, one of the main languages, Afrikaans, is very similar to Dutch. This means that Amira can easily perform in South Africa where her native Dutch and the Afrikaans speakers can understand one another. While Amira does have family in South Africa and in 2018 moved there, this is not the main reason for her performing hereโฆ
Amira uses her performances to raise money to build playgrounds for poor South African townships.
This is part of a project called โGelukskindersโ, using half of the profits from her performances and album sales.
She is known for her involvement with South African schools and helping them to grow.
South Africa is a country that struggles with poverty. There are many areas where children do not have the food they need, nor the schools in place. It can be a hard place to grow up among crime, inequality and a low quality of life for those in the townships. Every little bit helps, and itโs clear that the children of these schools are grateful for their new playgrounds!

Her vocal control and poise are astounding. How can somebody so young present themselves with such elegance and perform to such a high standard?

Amira holds the notes that she hits with such deliberation and control, itโs hard to believe that Amira wasnโt born singingโฆMaybe she was! Normally during performances such as these, you hear the audience cheer and clap, but in this audience doesnโt make a soundโฆ
Theyโre all too captivated by Amiraโs otherworldly talent to make a sound.
Clearly this is what Amira was born to do. Itโs her calling, and her destiny. With great talent, she has the power to build a successful career as a performer, and it seems she has her heart in a good place too! Thereโs no doubt that this outstanding young singer will continue to make audiences cry, and bring good to the world.
