The grandest achievements come from togetherness…
Just like these Marines singing in harmony.
In the field, they have each other’s backs. At the end of the day, they’re best friends no matter the circumstances.
Every job, even the most intense endeavors, could use some wholesome comradery!
So take a break and join these Marines in some musical fun!
They’re obviously not opera singers, but pitch-perfect vocals aren’t necessary, anyway!
Have you heard Robin Mark’s classic “Days of Elijah”?
Well, these Marines certainly have!
In what appears to be a lecture hall, they begin to sing along in a giant jam session. The lyrics go a little something like this:
“These are the days of Elijah
Declaring the word of the Lord:
And these are the days of Your servant Moses
Righteousness being restored”
They’re brothers in arms, literally.
The Marines splay their hands and arms across each other’s shoulders, creating a heartwarming show of friendship and humanity.
The Christian anthem continues:
“And though these are days of great trial
Of famine and darkness and sword
Still, we are the voice in the desert crying
‘Prepare ye the way of the Lord!'”
The Marines gesture along to the music. Their playful choreography features waving and swaying along to the rhythm.
The wall to the left houses red columns akin to those found on the American flag.
It’s a perfect backdrop to the Marines’ soulful singing.
“Behold He comes riding on the clouds
Shining like the sun at the trumpet call;
Lift your voice, it’s the year of jubilee
And out of Zion’s hill salvation comes”
What’s the largest crowd you’ve sung with?
Everyone’s blurted out the national anthem at a football or basketball game, but this is on another level!
Did they practice beforehand? The standing choreography isn’t too shabby, all things considered.
“And these are the days of Ezekiel
The dry bones becoming as flesh;
And these are the days of Your servant David
Rebuilding a temple of praise”
The Marines point their hands to the sky in unison.
There are so many smiles in that room! That’s a lot of fun for one lecture hall!
I wonder how many Marines are in there?
Seriously, that’s a huge lecture hall. Even the professor seems okay with giant jam sesh. He actually seems to enjoy it!
Hundreds of voices continue along to “Days of Elijah.”
“And these are the days of the harvest
Oh, the fields are as white in Your world
And we are the labourers in Your vineyard
Declaring the word of the Lord!”
They even have the lyrics up on the big screen!
There’s nothing quite like spending quality time with some of your best friends.
2020’s been a strange, difficult year.
These Marines display the power of unity and togetherness amid a divisive social and political climate heading into November.
A divided Marine Corps simply can’t function. Neither can a divided America!
If you’re seeking the winds of change, make sure to get out and vote!
Make your voice heard!
Unfortunately, coronavirus cases are spiking yet again, including across the Midwest, so make sure to take the proper health and safety precautions!
Were you a member of the choir? If so, that’s awesome!
What do you think of these Marines’ soulful rendition of “Days of Elijah”? What they lack in technical mastery they make up for in comradery and fun!
