Who doesn’t like music?
As Bob Marley once said, “When it hits you, you feel no pain.” No doubt about it, music has been soothing humans throughout all time, no matter how old they are. Many of us can probably name plenty of our favorite songs and favorite bands, but sometimes music is more meaningful when it comes directly from the people we love.
At least that was the case in this adorable story.
A video of two sisters has recently gone immensely viral.
The two girls are nine-year-old Allie and her baby sister Ashlyn. Because Ashlyn is only seven weeks old, she needs plenty of attention and comfort, especially when she needs to settle down for sleep. To help out, Allie decided to sing to Ashlyn to help her calm down.
Ashlyn’s reaction is the cutest thing ever.
As Ashlyn recognizes her sister’s voice, she cracks a little smile.
The song Allie is singing is actually Circle of Life from the Lion King, which is perhaps a fitting choice since the clip shows her being a protective older sister. Still, as soon as Allie sees her baby sister smiling, she loses her composure. After a quick, “aww,” she has to hide her face.
In just a moment, Allie is moved to tears.
But the video keeps rolling.
As Allie tears up, her parents ask her off camera why she’s crying. “Is it because you love her that much?” her mom asks. After a moment, Allie replies: “Because she smiled at my sweet singing!” After that, she gets her composure back and keeps singing to Ashlyn. Still, the emotions aren’t over yet.
After seeing the exchange, her mother starts crying off camera as well!
This story is clearly striking a chord with viewers (pun intended).
After all, who can’t relate to the innocence between Allie and Ashlyn? Everyone loves music, even from a very young age—especially when it’s being sung by someone who loves us and who we love in return. Needless to say, this was a very special moment captured between these two sisters. Still, it has to be watched to be fully experienced. Fortunately, mom was there was a video camera to capture the whole thing!
