Alabama Fire Crackers have been a familiar name but most of us haven’t really tried making them. The name of this snack can be fairly intimidating at first, especially for those who have a low tolerance for spicy foods but don’t let it scare you – they’re not really spicy!

These Alabama Fire Crackers are actually our all-time favorite saltines but with a kick! It has that little spice in them along with other savory flavors that make you want to eat more. It’s really the perfect match for a cold beer, or when you are watching a movie and the perfect on-the-go snack!

What exactly are these Alabama Fire Crackers? They are basically our beloved saltines but better! These already delicious saltines are coated with a blend of olive oil, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder and of course – crushed red pepper!

Okay, we know the excitement is building up so let’s get started!

Here’s what you will be needing:

INGREDIENTS

2 cups olive oil

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

2 (1 oz) packages ranch dressing mix

3 tablespoons crushed red pepper

1 (16 oz) package of saltine crackers

Here’s the process of making the Alabama Fire Crackers:

PREPARATION

  • To a gallon zip-top bag, add the olive oil, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, ranch dressing mix, and red pepper flake. Close bag and knead or shake to combine ingredients.

Wow! Can you just smell how good this combination is? Those crushed red peppers are sure to make your mouth water! Don’t be too scared about those 3 tablespoons of red chili flakes. It’s not too spicy, you are sure to love the right amount of spice that it will add to this recipe.

  • Place all the saltine crackers in the bag, seal and turn the bag over gently until crackers are coated with seasoning.

Pretty easy step, don’t you think? Actually, it’s pretty enjoyable too!

  • Let sit in the bag overnight.

Okay, go sleep tight and tomorrow they will be ready! This is what makes this recipe so addicting and good! Letting these saltines soak up the seasoned oil makes each cracker packed with taste!   • Preheat oven to 250°F and lay crackers out on a baking sheet. Bake until golden brown and oil has absorbed, about 15 minutes.

Almost done! Wait for 15 minutes until you hear the timer of the oven and there you go!

Plate these Alabama Fire Crackers and they are ready to serve!

Make sure to make lots of them because they’ll be gone in a few minutes.
