This 9-year-old genius and pianist is so talented he confused the judges.
At the young age of 9 years old, Adrian Romoff from Atlanta, Georgia, wowed, amazed, dazzled, and confused the judges during season 9 of “America’s Got Talent.” With talent, personality, and intelligence oozing from his body, judge Howard Stern felt so baffled by the performance he was unsure how much of the piano playing Adrian did and what was a soundtrack in the background.
Adrian responded to the judge’s confusion with delight and positivity as he offered to play a second piece. All of the judges quickly agreed.
After shrugging off the suggestion that he had a soundtrack playing some of the piece, he launched an encore with Chopin’s “Grande Valse Brillante” in E-flat major. His small fingers flew across the keyboard and his passion for music oozed from every inch of his body.
Following the encore performance, the judges noted Adrian was much more than a piano prodigy as everything about his performance and presence on the stage inviting the judges in.
“You are the future. You are absolutely brilliant, the way you play, you live that music, I see it coming through your body,” Howie exclaimed.
“You are so far beyond your years. You know what, England has Harry Potter, we have you!”
After receiving four yesses from the judges, Adrian moved to judgment week.
During judgment week, they sorted Adrian into the “Kid Variety” category. He performed George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” and wowed the judges enough to move on to the quarterfinals.
During the third week of the quarterfinals, Adrian performed Euphemia Allen’s “Chopsticks” and Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.” While he received a standing ovation from some of the judges – including Heidi – he did not receive the necessary votes to move to the semifinals.
Despite not winning “America’s Got Talent,” Adrian continues to do great things with his life.
According to Inspire More, Adrian did more during his first decade of life than many people did in a lifetime. Following the show, Adrian attended Juilliard School of Music in New York in 2014 as a classical pianist with a scholarship in hand.
A year ago, Adrian finished his senior year in high school while taking college courses.
He even made an appearance on Lifetime’s “Child Genius” and won a $100,000 college fund for his future.
Today, Adrian attends Bard’s College at Simon’s Rock in Massachusetts as a sophomore where he studies computer science and pre-engineering. About a week ago, he took to his Facebook page to announce he just built his very first computer.
In the comments of the Facebook post, many praised Adrian on his accomplishments and he took the time to thank them for their positive comments.
Adrian is now a talented preteenager who continues to go places.
