At the young age of 9, most of us are just trying to learn basic skills. You know… reading, writing, talking, that kind of stuff. It is pretty rare to know what you want to do and do it so well at that age but hey, some people are simply impressive overachievers by nature!
Alexandria Nagi, at only 9, is a perfect example of that.
She is so young but it doesn’t matter — she has the confidence, skills and talent of someone who has been dancing for decades. A video that was uploaded just earlier this week further proves that.
The video, which was uploaded on April 20, features Nagi as she dances to “Attention” by Todrick Hall. It is a song filled to the brim with sass and confidence and thankfully, Nagi’s performance enhances that even more.
Nagi whips out all of the fun moves you can think of — cartwheels, splits, and more. She jumps around and spins in circles and bounces from left to right, making great use of the entire stage. There is zero hesitation in her movement too — she has clearly rehearsed and knows what she is doing!
The performance is so good that it actually got her the first place spot overall at Velocity Lansing Dance Competition 2020.
Tricia Green is also responsible for why the dance moves were so good as she was in charge of the choreography for this dance routine.
Toward the end of the performance, Nagi adds in a few more spins and spirals and ends on a particularly confident pose, tapping her head and then looking directly at the audience. Fearless.
The channel that uploaded this performance, Carmodance, is dedicated to showcasing dancers who are learning and improving every day. If you visit their Instagram, you will see much more of that.
In one recent Instagram post, they shared a montage of teens taking on choreography to “Dangerous” by Michael Jackson. Since the world is self-isolating, each dancer filmed it themselves at home to make the wonderful montage. It is amazing to see that even when we are on a global lockdown, these dancers are still working hard on their passions!
Carmodance continues to showcase lots of great talent in addition to that clip. On April 7, they posted a clip of a dancer named Miyah slaying a performance.
“I could watch the stunning @_miyahthedancer_ allll day! Talk about a gorgeous dancer. The one good part about quarantine is there is plenty of time to watch dance,” they wrote in the caption.
They are not wrong either! While being stuck at home is not ideal, it’s not so bad that we can still appreciate these crazy talented dancers! It is so inspiring to watch them continue on even when the going gets tough.
Carmodance’s dedication to supporting young talent is also wonderful. All of their posts get tons of positive likes and comments which are obviously deserved.
