Believe it or not, certain traits that might seem common to many are in fact genetic mutations. While harmless, these mutations can lead to some striking features on a person. Whether its eye color, certain body features, or the color of their hair, people who possess these traits can look incredibly beautiful.
Here are some awesome-looking genetic traits that make some people look beautiful.
Muscles
Some humans possess a gene that promotes muscle growth. This genetic mutation prohibits the release of myostatin in the body, which in turn controls muscle growth. People that possess this mutation find it easier to obtain muscle mass, and it is even obvious in babies who possess the mutation.
Poliosis
People with poliosis have strands of hair that lacks or has a decreased amount of melanin, which gives the hair its color. Often this presents itself is in the form of a shock, or section, of white or lighter hair. This mutation can result in a white forelock in some individuals and is called a Mallen streak.
Red Hair
Red hair is considered one of the rarest hair colors in the world and is only found in about two percent of the worldwide population. Other genetic mutations found in people with red hair include fair skin, freckles, and lighter eye colors. Red hair is not only found in Caucasians but in Asian and African people as well.
Green Eyes
Just like red hair, green eyes are only found in two percent of the population of this planet, and the mutation is found more often in women than men. Green eyes, just like blue eyes, contain less melanin than other eye colors, making them more sensitive to UV rays.
Double Eyelashes
People with the mutation called distichiasis have two rows of eyelashes on their eyes, giving some people full and beautiful eyes. The downside to having double eyelashes is that they can scratch or even scar your eyes. Double eyelashes can also leave you feeling like something is constantly poking you in the eye.
Blue Eyes
A mutation in the HERC2 gene actually results in people having blue eyes. This is another genetic mutation that most people consider to be very attractive. It’s been documented that women with light-colored eyes seem to handle stress better and tolerate pain more effectively compared with women who have dark-colored eyes.
Heterochromia
Heterochromia is a mutation that happens if there is an excess or lack of melanin. The mutation can result in a such things as eye color being different or even skin and hair coloring differing on the same person. Have you ever seen someone who has two different-colored eyes? If you have, then you know how captivating they are.
Freckles
Freckles actually result, in part, due to a genetic mutation. When the MC1R gene doesn’t work, the skin freckles. Essentially, when the skin is exposed to the sun, the body tries to protect the skin by absorbing and reflecting UV rays, which usually results in an appearance of evenly tanned skin. However, those with less melanin, usually those with light skin, don’t tan evenly and instead freckle. But aren’t freckles so cute?
Cleft Chin
Please SHARE this with your friends and family.
Another attractive gene mutation involves a cleft chin, which happens when the muscles or bones in an individual’s lower jaw don’t fuse together property while an embryo is developing. This inherited feature can result in both men and women.
