Grandmas are from a different era, and they are used to finding creative ways to pass the time. Some knit, others sew, and still others focus on the arts. This grandma has found a creative use for Microsoft Paint, and her paintings are attracting a lot of attention.
Concha García Zaera is 87 years old, and she discovered her newfound hobby when her children got her a computer. “My husband fell ill and I had to take care of him, so I couldn’t go out very often,” Concha explained to El Mundo. “I began painting little things: first, a house, the next day I’d add a mountain… Step by step, I was adding details, and in the end, the result was a very pretty thing.”
The artist started out by posting the pictures on Facebook, but she has found over 100,000 followers on Instagram. “I have no imagination at all, so I get inspiration from the postcards that my husband used to send me or drawings that I find and like,” she said to Vanguard. “I do not understand very well why my drawings draw so much attention, I think they are very simple things.”
Concha may not understand the hype behind her images, but they are pretty amazing. Behold her Microsoft masterpieces.
This little scene looks so peaceful.
This one shows great attention to detail.
These paintings must take her forever.
Concha is a very creative person.
Not every grandma is able to adapt to technology in this way,
And when they do the results are rarely so stunning.
This grandma’s paintings are real works of art.
They are so intricate.
I NEVER thought to use Paint in this way when I was a child.
It is inspiring to see the new routes technology can take.
Anything is possible for a person with a vision.
One thing is certain…
Concha definitely knows how to keep herself busy.
She is an artist in her own right.
We wonder what great idea she will come up with next.
But until then, we have these stunning paintings to keep our minds occupied.
You go, grandma!
