It’s hard to resist the smell of eggs in the morning. There is something about the runny yellow yoke that screams out “Breakfast!”
This makes sense, because eggs are packed with nutrients. Equipped with enough food to keep a baby chick alive for almost a month, these treats provide a hearty meal for anyone breaking the fast of the night before. But cooking eggs seems to be something you need a natural knack for.
Cooking eggs can be a breeze for some, but it is quite difficult for others. It can be hard to cook them just right, so they have the most flavor without starting to get a little too well done. Fortunately Thai Trick feels the struggle of the typical non-chef. They have developed 8 great tips for cooking eggs in the best way possible.
1. Perfect Poached Eggs
Obviously, you need to be extra careful when poaching an egg – the whole thing can be easily ruined. After slowly breaking the shell and pouring the egg into a bowl, swirl it around a little. Then pour it into a pot of boiling water just as slowly. If you follow this method, you won’t have to deal with a broken yoke.
2. Soft Boiled Eggs
It may be something you’ve never thought of in your life, but you can put eggs in the microwave. Spill the egg out into a bowl, poke the yoke once with a fork, and cover the bowl with a microwave-safe plate. After one minute on high, you’ll have your egg ready to go.
3. Scrambled Eggs
If you like your eggs scrambled, this is the trick for you. Mix the egg around with a fork, then add milk to the equation. If you really want to increase your intake of healthy fats, make it an almond milk. The milk will make the egg extra fluffy, which is just what you want in a scramble. You can cook this concoction on the stove or microwave it for an even faster meal.
4. Eggs in a Basket
This dish can be quite tricky, so it helps to know a few hacks. To get that perfect hole in the middle of your bread slice, cut around the widest part of a water bottle. The opening will be the perfect width to cut your bread with. Place it in the pan, plop the egg in the middle, and your favorite dish just got a whole lot easier.
5. Onion Ring Eggs
Onions are healthy, delicious, and a great addition to any meal. To get a little extra onion in your breakfast, slice an onion then separate out the in-tact rings. Place them in the pan, then drop in your egg just like in the previous dish. Genius!
6. Spice It Up!
This neat trick even works with peppers. Slice the peppers, then take out the middle. Now that you have pepper-rings, you can place your egg in the middle and enjoy a colorful and creative meal.
7. Hot Dog Heart
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any weirder, Thai Trick came up with a funky new way to enjoy the egg. Take a cooked hot dog, and slice it down the center. Stop about three quarters of the way down. Fold the pieces of the hot dog back into a heart shape, and secure the loose end with a tooth pick. Add in your egg, and you have an adorable breakfast.
8. Hot Dog Rings
This time, slice your hot dog all the way down the middle. Once you have divided it into two pieces, make little indentations on one side of each piece. Now you can twist the slivers into two little circles. Secure the loose ends with a tooth pick, drop in the egg, and voila!
Nothing says “breakfast” like eggs. If your morning routine has gotten a little boring, give these tricks a try. They will really revitalize your breakfast plan.
