Have you ever come across a nigh once-in-a-lifetime event? It can be something small like finding a five leaf clover or something much crazier like the perfect photograph where some striking lightning momentarily took the shape of Paul Giamatti and you were the one to catch it!
Well thanks to the internet, people can share exactly these kinds of events and objects with each other for the whole world to see! We’ve collected 75 of those images for you here, so you can get a mega dose of “WOW” all at once!
1) Sharp puffs
This bizarre mineral is known as Ferrierite! It looks an awful lot like something you would use in arts and crafts and have fun squishing between your fingers, but we really don’t recommend it! It’s solid, and incredibly sharp! How strange is nature where things like this can form naturally?
2) The winding road
Even if you were to travel this long Italian road, you wouldn’t quite get this kind of view! It’s really very interesting to see how the road builders contended with the mountains obstructing their path. At the same time, I don’t really want to take a drive down that road, the height factor is extremely unnerving.

3) Mount Yum
You definitely wouldn’t see this every day, and if you did, you wouldn’t for very long! Still, we’re happy someone made it at least ONCE just to show the rest of humanity the possibilities, you know?
4) Resilience
Now THAT is a good handle! Even when everything else is falling apart, the handle pretends everything is okay and holds on, just in case someone decides to glue the rest of the glass back together. The handle is kind of like us in that way!
https://imgur.com/ZrVamPV
5) Heirloom duckmato
Wow that is… eerily similar to a rubber duck. I don’t really know what you can do with this in the short lifespan of a tomato but I seriously hope they figured something out because that’s REAL weird. I wouldn’t even want to eat it, you might be haunted by juicy quacks just as you’re trying to sleep for the rest of your life.
6) Cozy
Never before have I wanted to cuddle up in a pile of snow, but seriously this magnificent blanket is bringing it out in me. I’m no snow scientist but this doesn’t make a lick of sense to me! How did the snow stick together so well? Surely if it was kinda warm it would only fall apart easier right? 20+ years in a very snowy country and never in my life have I seen something like this!
7) Shenanigans
More icy shenanigans! I can’t even fold my own blankets that nice, let alone one that would melt in my hands! Nature outdoes me yet again. I really wish I had found this in person because I just want to squish it. If I can’t squish it I want to carry it around and show it off to people on the street. The possibilities are truly endless.
8) Limon
Look at this centrist limon. It doesn’t understand division or partisanship. Why does it have to be just a lime or just a lemon? This limon can be whatever it wants. Maybe if we turned it around it would be orange on the other side just to bring it into a perfect trifecta of citrus. Be like this limon and break down those barriers!
https://imgur.com/gallery/vKEwIYg
9) Beauty in destruction
This is so cool. This tiger is straight up beautiful, I’m kind of in awe of it! I would love to see one of these in person but I think I’d also be pretty petrified so the internet will do fine for now. Fingers crossed they can bring their numbers back and that poachers don’t ruin yet another beautiful thing and cause them to fall into extinction. Leave these majestic creatures be!
10) Twins again
I once heard that all bananas are genetically identical (thus why diseases in banana crops are such a big deal, it’ll just wipe all of them out) so does that make this banana double plus identical? A twin of itself? A conjoined clone? I’m not sure I’d even be comfortable eating that. What if a second you suddenly grows out of your stomach? I’d prefer to stay singular.
11) Time stamps
That’s gotta be an old vending machine! It’s pretty cool to see how coins have changed over the US over the years, and even cooler to be able to say you got all three of these at the same time. The different metals they’ve used to produce dollar coins is also pretty crazy, and really illustrates how these values change all the time. Metals become more or less valuable with their practical uses which are ever shifting in this crazy world we live in!
Got a drink from a vending machine and it gave me three different one dollar coins as change.

12) Lucky bad luck
Sucks about the plate, but at least you got a cool experience out of it! The one I always get is just clipping a chunk of the side off of a plate (usually thanks to a dishwasher) but this is the quintessential plate break that everyone imagines!
At the same time, get that thing out of the sink before some pieces go down to the drain and you have to go fishing! No thank you to those inevitable cuts!
13) Adaptation
I mean, adaptation is pretty much the name of the game in nature so I shouldn’t be surprised this tomato has managed to grow into it’s own little prison! But still, it’s just so dang cool to see it actually happen! It will make for some very happy birds and squirrels at the least!
14) Worthless money
Ohhh I’m sure there’s more than a few people who would get a kick out of a Karl Marx $0 bill. They were originally sold for $3 which… really makes no sense if you think about it literally at all. As a result there isn’t too many of these left, so they might actually be worth more than the bill is promising if you can find the right buyer!
15) Egglongated
Don’t eat it like a mike’n’ike and I think you’re in the clear! Weird how this happens though. Would it lead to birth defects or a really lanky chicken? Does the hen know the egg is abnormal? Farmers, chime in! I need answers!
This egg that one of our chickens laid looks like a giant mike’n’ike
byu/JustADumbDog inmildlyinteresting
16) Just leave it on
This is a way cooler paint job than most cars have, I would really want to just leave it on even though I know it’s unreasonable. What kind of luck did the driver have to get a perfect rainbow like this without the colours mixing and getting all muddy? Fingers crossed we get a video of the wash off, because I’m willing to bet that looked really cool too.
17) Strawberry (color) fields forever
Apparently this is a park in Hitachinaka, Japan! When these bushes bloom, the park looks like this. A seriously incredible sight, the rolling reds just go on forever! I would love to take a walk through here.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BsAb1icFymJ/?utm_source=ig_embed
18) Tricked ya
A limon again! Still super cool and very rare, but obviously not as rare as we thought. Where can a man find one of these limons? I just gotta know what they look like when you cut them open. Can you make limonade with these? I need one to find out for science.
19) Square cloud
Turns out, it’s totally real. Despite everyone thinking this simply must be photoshop, it turns out this completely legitimate. It makes no sense to me! Clouds are known as fluffy and round! Not flat and edged! Have you ever heard the saying “god doesn’t build in straight lines?” Well, here’s an exception I guess.
20) Tradesies
This might not seem too crazy, one person being born with an extra toe and another being born with a missing toe. BUT what IS crazy is that these two are coworkers! Even crazier than that, they somehow figured out they had odd toes! How does that come up in conversation!?
I was born with 6 toes on my left foot and my Co-worker was born with 4 toes on her right foot

21) Don’t dive through that.
Seriously I understand the temptation to just go barelling through those but don’t do it! Beyond the coughing fit you’ll definitely give yourself, you’d also be ruining the hard work of spice shop owners in Marrakesh, who create these beautiful, perfect mounds of different spices. You won’t find this just anywhere in the world, this is a truly special experience!
22) Starling Static
No, this is not the sky glitching out into static, revealing that we are indeed part of a simulation, these are just Starlings, migrating across Rome! Yes, I realise that doesn’t really make the feeling of unease go away. And yes, I too am reminded of Hitchcock’s The Birds. This is my least favourite picture in the slideshow. Yes, including the picture of the oddly toed feet.
https://imgur.com/XiF6LCb
23) Pomegranate viscera
No one asked for this picture, but you can’t deny it’s something you’d never see otherwise. The sad thing is… I really liked pomegranates up until I saw this. Now? I haven’t enjoyed one since. Pomegranates and all of their pomegranate accessories have been utterly ruined for me.
Thanks, the internet.
24) Skin mazes
Scrumptuous huh? Now you know to literally never fall asleep in a bath or you’ll end up looking like THIS. Is that not enough horror for you!? I don’t even want to go for a swim now let alone soak in a bath until I look like a swamp zombie!
25) Hail tide
Imagine thousands of big, icy fists raining down on you from the sky. That’s what it’s like to live in Alabama. And one time, it even happened for real! Serious damage was done, livestock died, people were lucky to get indoors when they did! It freaks me out that this can happen in the world. How did we make it this far?
26) They were just actors
It turns out they had actors to play the teletubbies! We even have photo evidence of the actors on break! Sorry to ruin your childhood, I thought teletubbies were real too. The big baby sun is still real though, right?
27) Rubber thumb
It’s the little things in life. This guy’s party trick is that he has joints we didn’t even know existed! I really don’t what other use this could possibly have. You only need one hand to scratch that first knuckle itch? Still, it’s not something you can find just anywhere!
28) Underworld
This is a seriously disorienting photo. It almost looks like it’s upside down, you know? Those clouds may as well be a rolling field of snow! If there was ever a time to touch the sky, that would have been the day to try. It seems so within reach!
My drive in to work this morning (I-90 in the Berkshire Mountains, MA)

29) Fish a-flyin’!
Flying fish have to be one of the craziest routes evolution took, it’s just so cool! Masters of sky and sea, they are totally unlike pretty much anything else on the planet! And they’re seriously beautiful up close to boot obviously!
A flying fish landed on my boat last night. I took this quick pic then put it back in the water.
byu/tunaguy inpics
30) Goldilocks
That hair must almost go to her feet when she stands up! She’s gotta be saving crazy money on haircuts, right? And if she ever needs to quickly escape from a medieval tower than she practically has a handbook on how to do it! I can’t say I’ve ever seen hair that long in my life.
31) Snake spider
This spider must have been playing Snake on it’s old Nokia cellular phone before building this web! Why else would it have built its web in this way? I certainly have no explanation for it!
Unusual web
byu/mizkovi inpics
32) Unique beauty
This is unbelievable! Nature is so beautiful in its crazy, random chaos. I wonder how a rockface like this is formed… It’s so oddly consistent in its pattern! No matter how it happened, I’m happy it did. Another reason to go visit Norway!
33) Odds
What are the odds of flying in just the perfect spot to see when a cloud is releasing it’s rain? Especially on such a sunny day as this one! Even better, our photographer was fast enough that they captured the rainbow mere moments after it was released!
34) Ever wondered?
Now you know why movie theatres get the kind of sound that they do! And more than that, you also know why the silver screen doesn’t flap in the breeze at all! These things are pretty ingeniously built, and allow for a really great listening experience this way, where you can seriously pinpoint sounds on the screen! It’s such a small touch but so incredibly important for total immersion in a film.
35) Cater line
This is not a rope or a super long snake or anything like that. It’s a long, single file line of caterpillars! They’re a variety of caterpillar native to Australia and apparently this is totally natural for them. I think it’s cute but it helps when caterpillars are so tiny and fuzzy!
36) Mini me
I really never realised what a stark difference there was in horse sizes. That little thing barely comes up to the knees of the larger horse! Hard to believe these two critters are the same kind of animal! I really don’t know what I would do if a horse that small came running up to me. Pet it, I guess? Is that appropriate?
37) Snow roll
“Just right” is the key term here. This doesn’t happen for no reason, and it doesn’t happen often! You need fairly precise conditions for snow rollers to occur, which is why they’re so rare! Lucky for us, people were able to share their findings when it happened for them!
38) Ancient steps
This alien planet with large, three toed monsters roaming about is actually just Patagonia, on Earth. These are ancient footsteps from the Limayichnus dinosaur, one of the largest to ever walk the planet! Props to the photographer for giving the photo such a Jurassic era atmosphere!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BizS4Rql-SE/?utm_source=ig_embed
39) Weirder stuffs
Even the haircuts are perfect! This Reddit user should ask their dad if they got up to any paranormal shenanigans as a kid, because maybe Stranger Things is based off of him? “Does The Upsidedown mean anything to you, dad?”
40) Magic
Magic. That is the only explanation for this. Or really great photoshop? But seriously, that is an insane coincidence. I stand by elephant magic. Maybe there’s a spooky elephant ghost who misses playing in water and getting splashed and that’s what we’re seeing?
41) Green wool
This sheep had some seriously long wool, got dirty and wet and eventually had grass growing out of its back! I am both a little bit grossed out but also super in awe of this mythic wool god, spreading grass seeds wherever it steps. It’s just cool that it can happen at all honestly!
42) Hydra tree
Are you familiar with the Greek myth about the hydra? The whole thing was that it was this multiheaded monster, but if you cut off one head (as one does in mythology of pretty much any variety) two more would grow in its place. It presents quite the problem when you’re trying to slay such a thing. This tree is a little like that, because a new one is simply growing out of where it was cut down! Between the two, I prefer the tree.
https://imgur.com/gallery/S6IsA
43) Alien!
I know what you’re thinking: this looks like something out of an alien movie. Well, it may as well be considering it’s a manta ray egg, and we all know manta rays make not a lick of sense! Did you know manta rays laid eggs? Because I certainly did not! The earth never ceases to amaze.
44) 25×4
Leap year babies are cursed to stay forever young, the horror! This woman was only able to start drinking legally sixteen years ago! In all seriousness, a leap year baby celebrating a young birthday late into their life might not seem like a big deal until you realise that if she’s celebrating her 25th birthday, that makes her the big one double zero!
45) Bronze clam
This is seriously unique, I can’t imagine too many bronze smiths had the same idea as this one! It’s such a cool idea and it had turned out beautifully! This would make an insanely cool decoration in or out of any home!
46) Life is sweet
This is super cool! It would give a pretty unique atmosphere to the campus to be sure, and I’m sure it is a lot more fun to hang out and study in these common areas than an old brick building with few windows! I also love that they’ve kept some shopping mall staples like the directory kiosks!
47) Bruh
I’m seriously happy that this is intentional glow-in-the-dark paints in the resin and not a surprise that the home owner found after taking a black light to his floor… Because if that was the case? Someone got straight murdered in your kitchen, dude. It’s a really cool idea, and it would make it a lot more fun when you run downstairs to get a midnight snack!
I made a hidden glow-in-the-dark galaxy in my resin kitchen floor.

48) Me and my…
It’s a pretty cool picture! Lighting and kitty positions had to be just right. And we all know you can’t get a cat to pose for a picture, they just won’t have it! So this photographer saw his opportunity and took it, with great results.
49) Zoomer
Now that is a seriously large mushroom! Are you sure you didn’t just find a powerup? This seems like the kind of mushroom that would turn Mario into super-ultra-mega-godzilla-Mario who then stomps around picking his teeth with skyscrapers. It looks really satisfying to cut through, too!
50) Packaging
This is certainly very clever and very cute! But I can only imagine this is super time consuming and only marignally more environmentally friendly than packing peanuts. Maybe they have some paper crane folding machine???
My husband ordered a used laptop and it was arrived completely packed in little paper cranes.

51) Too hot to handle
THAT is a stark comparison. The absolutely destroyed brush in contrast to the ultra green grass? It’s a beautiful, haunting shot. The fires are one of the biggest things that keep me from living California. I can deal with extreme cold, but fire? That’s a little too far to the other end of the spectrum for me. Thank your firefighters!
We were seconds away from losing our home to the California fire. Thank you to all the firefighters that saved our community!

52) Ozzy “bubs” Ozdog
Slick glasses, guy. This dog looks STOKED! Maybe we should all be looking at the world through bubble goggles? Things would certainly seem more whimsical and magic, right? It’s a bit of an unfair comparison, dogs are always happy!
53) Algae night
Is the Swedish flag blue and yellow because of their Algae? That’s a weird coincidence all on it’s own but it doesn’t hold any water (no pun intended) to the crazy resemblance to Starry Night! Seriously, its so good! Great eye, random Redditor!
On a rock by the west coast in Sweden, I found a pattern of algae and lichen that looks strangely similar to Van Gogh’s “The Starry Night”
byu/Nikoolisphotography innevertellmetheodds
54) It’s a doozy
Wow, those are some seriously old bones! I wonder if you would even feel them as the pipe was being laid? It’s totally possible that you wouldn’t even notice a difference from regular old earth if they were old and brittle and easily broken. Still, to nail the skull in such a perfect spot, let alone hitting an old Anglo Saxon burial from 1500 years ago to begin with… Those are some freaky coincidences!
This power line happened to be laid straight through the skull of an Anglo Saxon woman buried in a previously undiscovered 6th century graveyard.

55) Turtle stacking
How? Why? There are too many turtle questions and not enough turtle answers. We shouldn’t expect to understand turtle genius. Turtles know. We don’t know about turtle culture, it’s not our place to question it.
56) C thru
This is super cool! It’s a bit of a gamble because not every well is going to look this pretty, but in this case it’s worked out really nicely! It looks so inviting, like you could just go and take a dip right outside! It looks like their dog gets a pretty cool view from bed as well!
57) Blend in
A clean solution to garish outlets that you want to get rid of! All you need is some creativity and a steady artist’s hand! I wonder how hard it is to find the plug now though…
58) Little grey boy
Not dissimilar to our own hair, these dark spots slowly greyed out as the dog aged! What I love about these pictures though is how it looks like he got progressively happier over the years! What dog could ask for better than that? He’s gotta be getting on in age now.
59) Loading…
It looks so… flat! It really looks like a video game that hasn’t loaded fully… Maybe there’s some credibility to these simulation theories after all? I’m just kidding, don’t you worry! Howdy to you too, plane.
the fog during my flight makes illinois seem like it hasn’t rendered

60) Perfect potassium piece
I know that these will taste like any other regular old banana but I want to eat one. Seriously, there isn’t so much as a speck of brown on there! Suspiciously perfect is right!
61) Smooooooth
You might never see such perfectly set concrete for the rest of your life. This is truly a rarity. Few people have seen concrete this nice, but those who have can fully appreciate it. Always. I don’t even want to step on it for fear of messing it up.
62) Shoe Mandala
The universe is working through your shoe, dude. That’s a pretty perfect mandala you have there, through supposedly pure luck? I know that’s what it is but c’mon! We’re very happy you took a picture of this.
63) Efficient AND stylish.
Leave it to automobiles in the 1950s to put anything we have now to shame. This is so sleek! And the way it fits together is beautiful! The colour of the boat, car and camper all matching is just a stylish cherry on top. Bring back 50s style cars, make them electric. That’s a future I want to live in!
64) Totally apeeling
This is almost creepy with how perfect it is… But obviously I still want to eat it. The perfect orange slice? Come on, who can pass that up? This never happens!
65) Like a blanket
There’s been a lot of snow to blanket comparisons made today but you can see why! This perfect, untouched snow looks a lot like people have just laid out white blankets over everything! Incredibly beautiful and yes, satisfying as well.
66) Seriously stylish saunas in Scandinavia
A million A+’s to the designer of this sauna! This is incredibly cool! Although, I wouldn’t be able to help but feel a little on display, you know? Those crazy Fins sauna naked don’tcha know!
67) How many?
How many leafs did it take to find the perfect one for this picture? Was it pure luck? That’s four different intersections from crease to leaf so that would pretty tough to make just right unless you had the perfect hand/leaf combo!
68) Peacup
Pretty clever I gotta say! And the sheer effort this must have taken? Unimaginable for anyone who isn’t a baker. But the result is amazing and no doubt completely worth it. Your cake would be the talk of any event where it showed up! (Which I guess would only be one, but still)
69) If it ain’t broke…
The exact right lights burned out for the sign to maintain its exact name anyway! It certainly takes an especially observant brain to notice this in the first place, but it’s a pretty cool and crazy coincidence none-the-less! For anyone not sure of what the picture is talking about, Five Below becomes V B Low (V being the roman numeral for Five!) with the burned out lights, which when said out loud…
70) Lucky run in
That’s pretty cool of John Cena to just pick up the bill for random stranger’s groceries like that. I gotta wonder what lead up to that point. Did the uncle know who John Cena was? Why were they shopping at the same grocery store? I’m honestly kind of surprised John Cena goes to the grocery store at all!
71) Bittersweet
This is a seriously beautiful shot, and truly once in a lifetime. For as long as I’ve been alive LA has been covered in a thick layer of smog that made shots like this impossible. It’s only with the extremely reduced pollution due to COVID-19 that a shot like this can even happen. It’s a bittersweet feeling.
72) Promises kept…
I mean respect for living up to your word, and that is one handsome llama in that suit, but your sister does NOT look happy my man… Still, it will make it a day to remember for all time, no matter what. And how often do you see a llama at a wedding!?
73) Only now
It’s a fantastic photo, even though it’s pretty dark and a little depressing. This isn’t the future anyone was asking for but I really think we’re getting better. New Zealand is COVID free now! We just gotta keep our hygiene up and stay home a little while longer. We’re getting there!
Worker spraying the streets to prevent Covid 19. This is the most cyberpunk picture I’ve ever seen.
byu/cdicdd2018 inpics
74) Ooops
What a perfect photobomb. Great job capturing the magic, dear photographer! No, not the magic of the proposal, the magic of this guy’s face while he’s halfway through the realisation of what he’s doing! If “oh no” was a pose…
75) The best defense..?
I can’t imagine too many people can say that bullets have saved their lives directly before! There’s always classic stories of people being shot but a bible saving their life due to its thickness, or the pocket watch their dying wife gave them, but this is a new one for me. How many people have been shot in the ammo before?
Well? Wouldn’t you agree that these are far from things you’d see everyday? Or even ever for that matter? The internet has good and bad, that goes without saying, but it’s the sharing of images like these that really make it shine as a method of sharing the human experience! No matter how uncommon something is, 1 out of almost 8 billion people is bound to capture it eventually!
