It’s that time of the year again! ‘Tis the season for snow and creativity!
There is a fair amount of people who have the skills to make snow masterpieces. These eye-catching, mind-boggling art pieces are sure to have their neighbors talking! From animals to popular fictional characters, people have taken it upon themselves to create snow art that is both recognizable and unique.
You have to see what people can do with a little imagination and a lot of snow!
As a kid, it was my favorite time of the day. Can anybody guess what show this line is from? I’ll give you a big *clue*!
2) Halloween All Over Again
This skeleton looks amazingly detailed and a bit scary! Doesn’t it remind you of a Disney movie villian? A dancing and singing one, of course!
3) Location is EVERYTHING!
The placement of this octopus is brilliant. I’d be a little hesitant crossing its path. Really cool how they made the tentacles look curvy despite using snow.
4) Don’t Poke the Objects
These three brothers have made a name for themselves in the snow-sculping world. It’s easy to see why! Their work always takes time and dedication.
The details, people!
5) How to Train Your Snow Dragon (Shrek Edition)
This masterpiece was made in Turkey. It looks just like the dragon from Shrek. So pretty and massive!
Ouch! A clever idea from these kids from Indianapolis. Minimalist yet creative.
Jurassic Park is taken in a literal sense here. Be careful where you park your cars! This one looks hungry!
What an amazing eye to build around the car like that!
8) When You Find Out Your Teacher Has Other Interests…
Besides trying to teach a bunch of unruly kids!
This is the perfect character to build. Educational and intriguing!
9) The Town’s Own Alarm Clock
That’s one big and colorful rooster! Just imagine the cock-a-doodle-doo on this one! It’d be heard from miles away.
10) Marshmellows Roasting on an Open Fire
It’s a lifestyle, y’all. As you can see, they mean business. This is awesome. I’m sure it only took them a day or two and tons of food coloring to create!
Totoro in Finland! Just look at the little things they found to complete the body of the sculpture. I’d say it was well worth their time.
Mike sure does love the snow! Who would have thought? And just look at that smile! He’s like a big kid! Priceless, Mike. Priceless.
This figure attempted to dive into the ground and got stuck! Is anybody going to help her get out?
Er, maybe it’s too late…
Oh you know, just casually swimming through the ground. In the middle of winter nonetheless. Nothing to see here.
The face says it all! Run!I just don’t trust it and you shouldn’t either! If caught, expect either a big hug or to be eaten.
Ironic how those abs will fade once the sun hits it. Too bad this poor guy will never get the chance to show off his ripped figure at the beach. But then again, he gets to show off all day, every day!
Fish are friends, not food! It’s something Bruce has said and stood by. Don’t worry, Bruce. We’ll never eat you.
18) Protected by the Gawds
Don’t you dare try and sneak up on this house! It has eyes everywhere. To be frank. it does look pretty intimidating.
The symmetry that’s achieved here is quite fascinating as well.
Ahh, nothing like sibling bonding time. They did a fantastic job! It almost looks huggable. Great work, boys!
20) To Eat or Not to Eat?
Is it bad that I really want to take a bit out of this cupcake? It just looks so real! A part of me wants to dive into the delicious-looking icing too. Shhhh.
Wow! Look at this masterpiece! This undoubtedly took some time. The precision is spot-on. I wonder how were they able to keep the head from toppling over? It’s so big!
22) Who Said Dinosaurs Were Extinct?
Graphic and intriguing. It’s quite the work of art. The scratches add a more realistic effect as well. I just hope its attacker was caught!
Really, don’t. Those paw prints are fresh so he just fell asleep. I’d hate to be the one to wake him. You might be written out of the story!
I take it people really, really like Star Wars. It just might be one of the more popular references in the snow-art world. Trust me, you’ll see…
Hutts are a sluglike species native to the planet Nal Hutta… They’re leaders in organized crime.
Teamwork makes the dream work! Look at what this family did together! The colors are beautiful and the design is really sleek. Too bad they didn’t build more of those sweet vehicles for themselves!
This looks like it took quite a lot of food coloring to achieve those colors! But it’s well worth it for the attention it’s received, I’m sure. This great piece belongs in the books!
27) Turning the Rules on its Head
Who said that all snowmen had to be the same? This family must have put in a ton of time and effort to be able to build a snowman upside down! It truly paid off.
It’s a tauntaun! According to the Star Wars story, they were snow lizards that lived on the snow plains of the Hoth… They were then domesticated by the Rebel Alliance…
The more you know, right?
The sun can’t even melt this beauty away! Clearly, it’s meant to be.
The Bartz Snow Sculptures brothers are at it again! This undoubtedly took some time! How all three are able to sit on the design is quite telling! Solid work, guys!
He’s everywhere! I don’t think we’ll ever get away! But as long as people keep building him, neither can he.
This must be a new breed of dog! I wonder if it’s a Lab or a Retriever? Your guess is as good as mine!
33) A Pretty Snow Leopard?
Maybe it’s a lion?! Either way, it’s definitely coming together. It looks happy which makes me happy!
34) Octopus in the Making
This looks just as scary as the one prior! Perhaps a bit more evil-looking. It’s almost finished. Now is the time to cross!
Who else wants to take this elephant inside their home? I wouldn’t mind setting it on a mantle. It’s too bad it would melt. It’s just so cute!
A visual representation if I have ever seen one. Just not sure if the sticks are whiskers or arms… inquiring minds want to know! My guess is whiskers but arms wouldn’t hurt either!
37) A Lizard and Rabbit Walk Into a Bar…
And I’m eager to know what happened next! However, this lizard looks great! Very nice use of spray paint!
Be careful with what you build your castle out of!
How did they get the bricks shaped so perfectly? It looks like it would be a delicate practice.
Where were these when I was a kid? I’d love to slide down one of these! But alas, my time has passed. Or has it?
40) Who’s Real and Who Isn’t
I’ll never tell… But I’m sure you’ll be able to figure it out. Just look a bit closer.
It is pretty crazy how similar they appear!
When a snowman is built on Hoth, kids make pets out of them. This is another Star Wars reference I’ve been informed. When does it end?!
It’s safe to say that it never will. As you were!
This snow-head looks so smooth! There are no ridges to even indicate that it’s made from snow. But the clearing of the land surrounding it kinda gives it away.
Speaking of giveaways, can we have this?
It’s an oldie but a goodie! Even snowmen are happy to send their little ones off to school. That’s one proud papa.
Yoshi made his debut in 1990 and has been a staple since. Rightfully so. He’s amazing. How can you say no to that face?
45) America’s Favorite Pasttime
A tv will be watched even if the tv isn’t real. A chair will be sat on even if it’s ice cold and hard. All that’s missing is a can of snow. At least that would be semi-functional.
46) Snow is the Lucky Charm
Just because it’s winter, doesn’t mean there can’t be rainbows! This is what happens when you think outside of the (cereal) box and let your imagination run wild.
This belongs in Rome! Minus the hat. Actually, keep the hat. It spices things up! Props to that detailed robe also!
Sometimes you just want to build a massive snow character. It’s already dark outside! It probably took all day!
This fella doesn’t look too sure about the new family memeber. Don’t worry, buddy. He’ll start to deteriorate soon enough.
Doctor Who anyone? Yeah, me either. Had to look it up. But based on what I’ve seen, this is pretty accurate. Great job!
Look at this pretty sculpture! The lashes really complete the look.
Sometimes we just need a moment. Snow sculptures included. I wonder what it’s thinking.
53) “Anotha one,” DJ Khaled
Another great sculpture by these fabulous three! How in the world do they make them so massive? It’s just the beginning for these guys!
54) Taking Things too Literally
When all your watch dogs do is watch… should you get new ones? But they’re just so well-behaved!
55) Eagles Taking a Stance
This is one of the more precise use of color that I’ve seen. The wings on the eagle are so whimsical. I love the original concept in this one!
Wow! What an eye-catching sight! This one is sure to get people talking. When nature gives you a canvas, use it!
It looks like she caught him right in the knick of time! He may be on his way out judging by the bare grass around him. Who doesn’t love Shrek?
58) “Do you want to build an enormous Olaf?”
I don’t see the harm in it! Everybody else is doing it. However, they really stepped things up a bit, on a pretty large scale…
This guy! What a detailed piece. A toothpick or even a brush had to be used to bring out the details in the face.
Of course he’d be out in the snow scuplting other family guys! This is a classic Peter if I’d ever seen one. Bonus points for the perfect Harry Potter glasses!
61) When You Can’t Wait for Valentine’s Day
A heart-shaped igloo should do the trick. Dropping hints all year round is just that… All. Year. Round.
The yellow looks questionable but I’ll maintain my faith in society for a little longer. But I do feel bad for his little arms! His waddling must be difficult!
A little bit too realistic for my taste! Just look at that tail. I feel as if it’s going to pounce at any minute!
Kinda wanna hug this bear and walk hand-in-hand with it to school. It’s perfect! On the verge of going to Build-a-Bear right now!
65) Cookie Monster’s Distant Relative
Four times removed. He’s adorable but his color is fading! That cookie looks excellent though, like frozen cookie dough…
It’s a sloth! Well, you wouldn’t be the first person to think so. But it is supposed to be King Kong climbing the Washington Monument.
But it could also be a sloth.
Oooh! I hope the eyes aren’t melting. The smile and the eyes made of ice really brings it all together.
68) Just a Man and His Dog
Coffee in hand, stick in mouth. It doesn’t get much simpler than that. This sculptor gets it!
Who would have thought that Darth Vader likes the snow too? He is just one of us. Isn’t he?
70) “I think I can. I think I can.”
You can do it, little one! Almost up the tree! Or down it? Whichever it is, you’re on your way!
This looks like it could be a corss between a horse and a dog. Which is perfect because it’s two of socities most loyal animals! It’s the posture and tail that screams dog but clearly it’s a dorse. Duh.
Neither of these football players wants to let go of this football trophy. It looks like it’s going to tip over soon!
73) Just a Woman and a Dog
Simple and also classy. So often, we see men portrayed with their dogs. But let’s not forget that “man’s best friend” refers to all of mankind!
Self-explanatory! But oh so cool. How were they able to do this?
You had a good run, Olof. Taking over this list and whatnot. But like all things, it must come to an end.
