Cats. The center of the universe. You buy cat beds for them and they love them for a while… And then you buy a dog bed for the dog and… the cat loves the dog bed instead. It’s a tale as old as time, but we’re here to display all the greatest instances (75 to be exact) of a cat taking over a dog’s bed. The best ones are a fraction of the dog’s size with twice the power!
1) Tattletale
I love the cascade of looks. This big ol’ dog is looking at dad for help, and the cat is giving him the death stare because “How dare you tell on me?” This pup has to learn to stick up for himself or he’ll never get that bed back!
2) Longing
Have you ever watched on in jealousy while someone plays with your favorite toy AND steals your brand new bed? Of course not! This poor, sad dog. He’s so understanding. He has no idea he could kick that cat’s furry little butt.
3) Mix and match
This is a Titanic situation. There’s 110% enough space for the both of them on that bed but Rose (the cat in this case) just won’t let him on! And now dog gets to freeze in the frigid arctic waters of the cat bed. Real nice.
4) He knows
A side glance like that just tells you everything you need to know about the shame that dog is feeling. He’s just wondering when the cat is going to go! And from the look of things, that cat isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Side glance from stolendogbeds
5) Beefcake
I’ve never seen such a hardcore looking dog completely give up to a little furball like that cat. This dog looks like the offspring of Cerberus, like he could tear a man in half just buy looking at him. And that dishevelled little piece of fluffmeat is his BOSS!
6) Done.
This dog has been putting up with this for a long time. Those are tired eyes. He just needs a little help, that’s why he’s looking at the owner. That cat meanwhile is just feigning ignorance, pretending the problem doesn’t exist! “Mine.”
7) Hide ‘n’ seek
This is a good dog. Relegated to behind the boot rack, sleeping on the wooden floor, but still keeping watch over the tiny kittens that have stolen his bed from him! He’s definitely salty about it, but he won’t do anything because he’s a big softy and he loves them.
8) Voluntary confinement
Imagine your dog looking into a cage LONGINGLY! It’s insanity! I have never met a dog that loves being locked up for any amount of time, and even just the visits to the vet get them to avoid the cage pretty much permanently. At this point the cat has just taken it to assert dominance!
9) Tag team
The cats are completely unbothered. This was a coordinated effort. “He can’t take both of us out of here!” And the poor dog knows it too.
10) Not fabulous
This dog is unimpressed. Not only has the cat taken its bed, but the cat also looks significantly more fabulous in it to boot. “Thanks for keeping it warm,” that cat says. “You’re welcome,” says the dog with bitter compliance.
11) Sharing
This is where it starts! The cat sweet-talks its way into the much larger dog’s bed, and pushes the limits every time. It’s only a matter of time until this dog finds its way onto the floor, watching as the cat splays out and taks only a fraction of the bed its no longer allowed on!
12) Domination
This cat has thoroughly scared the crap out of this dog. Look at his sad little shame stance in the corner! And the cat is making sure everyone in the house knows that bed is now his with that POWER STANCE.
13) Just a bit
That cat looks pretty displeased with the dog even just having his paws on that bed. Sweet pup better watch out before he gets a kitty claw to the face. If he only knew that he was so much larger than the cat.
14) Splay
How has this tiny kitten gotten away with such a massive switch so early in life? Honestly? Kudos. That kitten will be making Wallstreet moves before its days are done! The cute factor was no doubt a massive help.
15) Nook’s Cranny
This is CRUEL. That dog must have loved its little corner! Clearly a lot of effort from the owner went into it. And now the kitten pulls a Columbus and decides that no, cat lives here now. Just awful, what a jerk. Sick house, tho.
16) One of these things doesn’t belong
We’re honestly lucky that the cat didn’t somehow take both beds. But how do you take a bed away from a cat that is enjoying it that much? Those dogs look completely shamed in their inability to kick this cat out. No tail wagging for them!
17) Like a glove
Yeah, this fits. The dog looks so tired in its little GARBAGE corner. Fits perfectly between the dog bed and the radiator. Is it weirding anyone else out that the radiator matches bed so well? Maybe it’s a pinterest house.
18) Do something
Those eyes scream “help me!” The poor pup has no idea what to do. This is one of the cases where the dog can’t kick the cat’s butt, they’re too similar in size and that dog looks like a bit of a wuss. That cat is ready to swipe at any moment, just look at that glare.
19) You’re 10x his size
Honestly bud, just lay down in that bed and that cat will never come back. The fear of the squish will keep him steering clear forever. But sadly, you have no idea how big you are, do you? If you only knew what a bulldog looked like.
20) Matching
They opted to choose their beds based on color instead of size! Honestly impressive in its own right, but still wildly unfair for the dog that has been forced into a bed a quarter of its size. That will not make for a good sleep!
21) Proportionate spacing
That cat looks mighty happy with this arrangement. That dog might be fine with it but no way he’s happy. He barely has his booty on there! If they really tried, they would both fit just fine!
22) Oh so posh
Now that is the posh lifestyle! That kitten is sleeping on something well above a California king sized bed! Honestly, it’s the owner’s own fault, of course the cat will expect the “Posh” bed to be for them instead of that mangy old mutt!
23) Shame
That dog can’t even defend its cowardice, just look at those eyes! This is what happens if you don’t stick up for yourself, you end up stuck sleeping in a wicker basket. Don’t let yourself become like this shameful fluffy white dog, folks!
24) Friendship
This is sweet in its own way. The dog wasnts to be close to the kitty but doesn’t want to infringe upon its space. Respect, my fluffy friend. It looks like the cat is happy for it too. But this can’t continue forever, you must reclaim your space eventually!
25) Tell him he can’t do that
Oh my gosh, that face is too much. He’s so cute and so angry. He has no idea how to deal with it himself! “Tell him me can’t do that,” the look says it all.
26) Patience immeasurable
The waiting game is a long one with cats. They’re notoriously lazy and take a million years to do anything. SO you can play, but don’t expect results instantly. This might take literal years.
27) The cat’s doing it again
Another post of “help me” eyes. Maybe we’ve made dogs too reliant on us? These dogs could deal with this in a heartbeat but they have no idea how to!
28) Squatter
Looks like a rainy day wherever this is. Something tells me the cat appreciates the cover “just in case.” The dog is clearly unhappy about that! We know how territorial dogs can be, but who knew they could do so little about it?
29) He tried
Look at that negotiating tactic! It’s so cute! “Just one paw?” But no, the cat clearly didn’t share the same enthusiasm for it as myself. It literally laid down the law by laying itself down. That is a shame sleep if I ever saw one.
30) I don’t think he’ll fit
Unlike many of these other instances, I don’t think that shepherd is fitting in the cat’s bed any time soon! Maybe he could wear it as a hat? The stray kitty will be enjoying that bed while he tries to figure it out in the meantime.
31) Cat boss
Oh my GOD, it’s two on one, ladies! Just gang up on the little monster! Maybe they really just love the carpet that much?
32) P/NUT
That cat could literally sleep on a chair and have no idea what the difference is. Peanut is so smol. But no, it must have the best bed in the house that it can manage, and obviously the German Shepherd is a big softy for something tiny and cute.
Heard I should share Peanut stealing her German Shepherd’s bed over here (x-posted from r/aww) from stolendogbeds
33) Eye of the storm
The perfect middle. The tiniest cat has opted for the literally the most inconvenient part of the bed. Obviously, it is also the most comfortable. I really feel for this dog, she so clearly wants to do something about it, but isn’t quite sure of what that is yet!
34) Double disappointment
That cat is having the time of its LIFE! At som point, one of these two animals figured out how to lay two of these mattresses down on top of the other. Something tells me it wasn’t the cat. I bet that dog was so excited for an afternoon nap only to find its creation hijacked.
35) Next best thing
Close enough, buddy. I can’t say he looks super comfy in that laundry basket but he’s certainly trying his best. But that face tells you everything you need to know. He’s immensely bitter about not being able to sleep in the nice, soft, comfy bed like the cat.

36) Onlooker
You ever get the feeling you’re being watched? This cat doesn’t. Or he does, and he doesn’t care. Honestly, how could you when you look so good? He is clearly super comfy there and he looks oddly regal. That dog heavily heavily heavily disagrees with me there.
37) I feel like I’m being watched
Speaking of being watched, this dog is straight creeping on this cat. From behind a corner and everything! But of course this cat is unbothered. Let the peasants stare, he has his bed and he is comfy and that is all that matters. The misgivings of lesser animals mean nothing to him.
38) Bitter
WHAT A POUT. That dog can’t hide that it’s still staring on in bitterness that the cat has stolen his bed! Yet still it keeps its face in the carpet, in anguish. He has to show his displeasure somehow, to really teach that cat a lesson!
She knows from stolendogbeds
39) How do you say no to that
Dog, I understand, but how do you say no to such a smol bb? You’re being a good boy for not losing your cool with the kitten. But we can see by the look on your face that you aren’t happy about this in the slightest!
40) Give it up
Look at the smug look on that cat’s face! It’s just staring at the dog like “do something about it then!” And the dog knows full well it cannot. The face of resignation, the face of defeat.
41) At least its carpet?
This is just embarassing. These dogs know if they even try to fit on that bed they’re getting a quick swat pronto. At least their in it together, sleeping off the bed in solidarity with the other!
42) Bring the Thunder
C’mon Thunder, you gotta show a little lightning or you’re going to be sleeping on the cold hard ground forever, man! That’s a look of defeat if I’ve ever seen one. You’re like 20 times the cat’s size, just lay down on the bed!
43) Consoling touch
This is ridiculous. It looks like that cat has somehow convinced the dog to switch beds and this is just like a “yeah, you’ve made the right choice, trust me, don’t worry about it” kind of touch. Or it’s a mini-swipe to remind dog who’s boss.
44) Tears
This actually makes me sad that the dog was legitimately upset he couldn’t have his bed. Cats seriously are jerks sometimes! He obviously couldn’t do much about it himself, so once again a dog is asking its owner to get rid of the cat!
The dog woke me up in the pitch black, clearly upset, and showed me this. I thought this only happened on YouTube. X-Post from r/aww. from stolendogbeds
45) But the dog doesn’t
That dog is making do with what he’s got, but it’s almost more of a “look at what I have to do with this tiny bed” kind of look that he’s got on. Cat’s simply an’t have the smaller bed, I’m convinced.
46) PISSED
This dog is so visibly MAD. But not at the cats, he knows he can’t do much about them, but he’s mad at the owner! Maybe for having the cats? Maybe for not doing something about this sooner? Who knows. That look speaks a thousand words.
47) I’ll do it but I’m not happy about it
A gentleman indeed… But something tells me this wasn’t a very happy or willing exchange. That cat is sleeping a little too well. I’d guess the cat just went for it and the dog knew he couldn’t do anything to the contrary.
48) Snowball
Oh my GOSH. That cat takes up a fraction of that bed, there’s no excuse here! It’s seriously SO SMALL and SO FLUFFY. The dog is probably just as in awe of its adorableness as I am, and that’s why he hasn’t eaten the little critter yet. Yeah… that’s it…
49) Intervention
These dogs have a plan. They know they can’t really do anything to the cat. So they figure they will go and stare at the cat and hopefully it will get out of their spot out of sheer discomfort. Wrong. This cat doesn’t give a DAMN, and it is happy to stare right back until either a) the dogs leave or b) it falls back asleep.
50) Comfy
Oh yes, that dog looks… Comfy. Honestly, it’s just being a good big brother at this point I think. It’s willing to let this one slife, but things will change when that cat wakes up. Or so the cat would let it believe…
51) Eyes
Now that’s a stare down if I’ve ever seen one. Both animals are just locked on mom like “you’re going to do something about this situation, aren’t you?” I’m inclined to let the animals figure it out amongst themselves.
52) You need a new bed
Listen man, I know. That’s your favourite bed. Has been since you were a pup. But it’s kind of like an old tshirt. Yeah, it “fits” but it doesn’t fit anymore. It’s time to give it up to the cats and get a new bed that is even comfier than the last one. But let’s be honest, the cats will just take that too.
53) Rebellion
Stand up for your rights Poppy, hell yeah! Rage against the machine! It takes courage, which you obviously have since you look absolutely terrified to be pissing off the cat like that! Also a quick A+ to the owner for these names. Boots and Poppy? C’mon!
54) Young entrepeneur
And that’s a business deal. He’s still a baby and he’s swindling dogs and other kittens out of a massive bed built for like fourteen of himself. Get this kitten on Dragon’s Den ASAP!
55)
What are you supposed to do against the new generation? This pup is getting old, that much is obvious. She knows she doesn’t really stand a chance against a young whipper snapper like this cat! Go to the ancient ones, the “hoomans,” for help!
I captured my dog crying for help every time my tiny old cat steals her bed. She’ll sleep on the floor rather than steal it back from stolendogbeds
56) To the crated
Get in the crate. Just get in there and don’t look back. The cat is expecting you not to make a move, especially one so bold. Be brave my handsome little pup! You got this! Seriously, this is a dominance thing and you have to make sure you win, you big baby!
My cat has started sleeping in my dog’s crate, and he’s not sure what to do about it (xpost from r/aww) from stolendogbeds
57) That’s what I’m talking about!
YES MALAMUTE, YES! You have learned ther method. Now go forth and teach the other dogs! Does that cat look happy!? No! Will he be coming back to steal your crate anytime soon? No! Victory!
58) It was nice while it lasted
Well at least you got to enjoy it for a bit, buddy. You better take note from the Malamute unless you want every christmas to end up like this one! That kitty jerk should be getting coal!
59) Chillcat
That cat’s cool wit’ it. He doesn’t seem too bothered by this dog’s advances on the bed, despite this dog clearly being petrified of what’s coming. Hard to give up your bed just like that, I understand. Maybe the cat knows how to share, buddy!
60) Woof.
What kind of Boston Terrier can’t take it’s bed back from a cat!? They’re similar in size but Terriers are supposed to be ultra feisty, aren’t they? Bark it out of bed, man! Box it if you need to!
61) Brat!
This poor blind boy needs his bed! He might not be fully blind but come on, he’s well on his way and he deserves a decent bed! Cats are jerks! Say it again! I hope he kicks her butt right out of his place!
She stole it RIGHT out from under him… and looks so smugly pleased with herself for it. Brat. from stolendogbeds
62) Princess
Oh my GOSH that is the cutest thing I’ve seen today. That’s an absolute sweetheart of a dog right there. It just wants to spoil this tiny thing. It probably doesn’t even really understand what it is yet! That’s just wholesome.
63) Shame sit
Oreo coloring abounds. Does this make sense to you, dog? No? Then kick that little turd back to it’s bed! I can’t believe you’re just sitting there defeated and shamed by a tiny furry oreo. DIP IT IN SOME MILK!
I’m fine from stolendogbeds
64) All Gussed up
Well Gus, that’s what happens, man. I wish you could have figured it out and asserted your own dominance sooner but you were too nice. I can tell just by looking at you! You look nice and that’s great but nice guys don’t get the bed. They get the hardwood floor while their new sister sleeps on a massive cushion.
New kitten has asserted her dominance over Gus quite quickly. He’s very sad about this power shift from stolendogbeds
65) C’mon…
This dog can’t deal with this today. It was a long day at the office and he just wants to get home, kick his paws up and lay down in the dog bed for a while. But he can’t, you know why? Because there’s a tiny orange FLUFF IN IT. Can you believe it? Well neither can the dog.
66) Hide your face
Oh my gosh the shame radiating off of this poor dog is palpable. He won’t even show his face to the camera, he’s too embarassed. He’s lost his prize possession to a little black cat. He had no idea just how much bad luck that cat would bring for him!
67) Anguish
Absolute pain. You can see this boy HOWLING at his dad just wishing he could get his bed back. “It’s not fair!” My favourite part is this black cat being called the void. I can’t think of a better title for one so cruel.
68) Wicker man
Why do all of these pictures involve a cat resting completely peacefully while a dog simply accepts his face and watches on in horror and shame? These cats feel no remorse, that’s why. Because they’re all. Jerks. Except cats whom I love, they’re fine.
69) King of the hill
Well I mean, it’s not like all the dogs are fitting on that bed, so maybe they’re striking from the bed until they all get beds? Like doggocratic socialists or something? The cat is happy to take advantage of this situation. Maybe they’re all just too afraid to tell him to get off.
70) Mad pugger
He’s pretty miserable looking but who can blame him? That’s his bed. Stupid cat. I’m honestly shocked this happens as often as it does. We’re on slide 70, okay? That means there’s still five more.

71) Cuddles
Oh come ON, that’s just their bed now, sorry. They’ve claimed it with the right of cuteness. It’s in the pet code, okay? The orange cat has claimed both companion and home. The dog can get a new bed.
well was looking for a forever home for this stray kitten but the other cat has spoken, the dog also has has no more bed lol. from aww
72) Creativity
This is the smartest dog we’ve seen yet except maybe the malamute. He may have lost the fight, but he’ll still get a good night’s rest by using the now free catbed as a pillow! And he has the carpet to keep the rest of him at least semi-comfy, so really he’s barely even downgraded.
73) Bravery
If only courage came by the pound, am I right? Oh well, at least it’s pretty hilarious and cute that they’re cuddling. Still, it’s sad that they’re both so big but still terrified of the tiny little critter on the bed beside them.
74) Kinda fits, right?
As far as I’m concerned, there are no losers here. It’s a tight fit for that pug but until he learns how to fight the cat then that’s all he’s getting and at least he fits at all! Still, the proportions and presumably names are totally off so it’s still got to get fixed.
75) Winner winner
This dalmation didn’t care at all. He wins. He sits on the kits. Kitty gonna learn it’s place to-DAY. And he achieves true victory for dogs everywhere by just claiming pure ignorance like all the cats that have wronged dogs for the past 74 slides. At least he isn’t being smug about it, right?
See? Told you cats are the center of the universe. At least, they certainly believe so! Doesn’t matter how many dog beds you buy. You may as well just buy all the right dog beds +1 even bigger one for your tiny cat. I can’t believe none of those dogs could stand up for themselves except TWO OF THEM! C’mon pups, you’re going to have to up your game if you want to make it ahead in this world!
