65 Inventions That Just Make So Much Darn Sense

Compared to what we had 20 years ago; we are living in the future. Obviously. And when we are spoiled with technology that defies our imagination, we tend to overlook inventions so simple and obvious we’d slap our heads and say “Why didn’t I think of that?” Yogurt foil that you can fold into a spoon, a car bed for emergency sleep-overs, and a scoop that wouldn’t require a course in archaeology for you to dig out.

Imagine what we can achieve if these things are the norm! Maybe we can finally land a colony on Mars. Here’s 65 inventions that are so obvious, you wish you invented it.

1) Everyone Has A Preference

Most people do like unscented before they eat and scented afterwards to get rid of the smell of food. But others have allergies and use unscented all of the time. Having both options should be implemented everywhere.

2) Know What You’re Using

We see words like Anethole and Calcium Carbonate on our products but most people don’t even know that those aren’t dangerous chemicals but rather fennel and chalk. This toothpaste brand lets you know exactly what you’re getting.

3) Is It Raining?

If you don’t feel like checking the weather on your phone, this elevator has a meter to tell you if it’s raining outside or not. If it’s raining, the umbrella lights up. Maybe at the next business meeting, they’ll add free umbrellas too.

4) Hot Or Cold, Doesn’t Matter

This phone charger uses hot and cold drinks to charge your phone. It doesn’t matter if you are drinking coffee or a cola, it works. Not sure how this works but our job is to enjoy these products, not Bill Nye them.

5) Just The Right Temperature

This hotel has lights under the showerhead to let you know if the water is too hot or too cold. How it decides what is too hot or too cold is unknown to me. It would be awesome if you could set your own temperature.

6) Endless Charging

These USB cords are unique as they are stackable. Now, there is a limit as the PC can’t handle endless stacks, but it can still go pretty far. And they are all different colors which makes them that much more attractive.

7) Finally, We Know What We’re Eating

For some reason, the people at the deli and hotbox get their burritos and empanada fillings mixed up a lot. If only they could stamp their shells, then they’d know what they were serving without having to sniff or poke it with a fork.

8) Any Gardeners Out There?

It doesn’t matter if you have a green thumb or not, this fork and spoon are adorable. They look like gardening tools. The pitchfork is cute, but the spade is absolutely perfect! Imagine eating a salad you got from your own garden with these.

9) We Did It Before It Was Cool

Who hasn’t folded a yogurt lid to make a spoon? Now, they are making them with lines and instructions for the people who don’t know how to do it themselves. That’s pretty awesome if you ask me.

10) A Place For The Helmet

This ski resort has chairs with storage space for your gloves, goggles, and whatever else you need to store while you eat. If they put these in more restaurants, then we’d finally have a place to put our purses.

I’m not completely sure that these are Japanese, but they sure look like it. Japan is constantly inventing amazing things to make life easier for us. This Pringle tool comes in the can and prevents a lot of hassle.

12) Cut And Strain

Is this a cutting board ord a collander? It’s both! You can even set the board over the sing so you can chop, swipe, and rinse. We need these in every color and size. Maybe make sure that the collander can hold hot liquid too.

13) For The Road Trip Nap

These blowup mattresses were made for long trips when you can’t afford a hotel. Or maybe when you want to nap in the car on your break at work. They are perfect for 2020, when you don’t want to be around anyone too.

14) Let No Light In

When you stay at a hotel, it seems like there is always a sliver of light that gets through the curtains. These curtains have sliders so that the layers overlap and refuse to let the smallest amount of light through.

15) Keeps Them Cool Longer

Did you know that round ice cubes keep your drink cool longer as they take longer to melt? That’s a fun fact. But what is also fun is filling this ice mold up and popping the “cubes” out when they’re frozen.

16) Learn CPR Now

If you’re stuck at an airport due to a delay, there’s nothing better to do than learn to save a life. This airport has a machine to do just that. You may not get a certificate, but at least you’ll know how to do it.

17) Works For Formula

Whether you’re mixing bottles or protein shakes, it gets annoying when the scoop gets lost in the powder. Some formula brands put a clasp on the lid inside, but this protein powder company has a lip inside.

18) Best Garage Ever

Who needs a big garage when you can have one of these sweet motorcycle storage units? It shuts down over the motorcycle to protect it from weather, thieves, and looking lame in front of your friends.

19) Don’t Steal It

These phones are tracked well, so don’t try anything fishy. You can find them at certain hotels and are complimentary during your stay. This is perfect for foreigners who don’t have service in the country.

20) Ice Cream Is For Everyone

This Dairy Queen playroom has a door just for kids. It’s a sad day when you get too tall for the little door and have to use the big, boring one. The other one even has Spider-Man on it, which means it’s automatically better.

21) Careful With Expensive Phones

This mall has a charging station where you can charge your phone for free while you shop. Though I wouldn’t recommend leaving them unattended without a watchman. Do you think they hire one just for this job?

22) Free First Aid

If there’s one thing that should be free, it’s health care. However, that’s not always possible. But first aid sure is. This college has bandaids and other dispensers on the wall for when you’re in a pinch. Or get pinched…

23) Parking Has Never Been This Easy

This parking garage continues the paint lines up the wall so that you can park straighter. If a business has the opportunity to do this and they don’t, they are missing out on a lot, and gaining a lot of door dings.

24) Name Them All

These popcorn boxes at the theater have famous movies on them. It’s fun to try to guess each and every one of them while you wait for your movie to start. Can you spot The Lion King? What about The Devil Wears Prada?

25) Bird’s Eye View

On this plane, passengers can choose to see what the pilot sees in the monitor before them. That would be a great way to entertain kids or let frequent flyers know how things look up there. It might even ease uneasiness for new flyers.

26) All-In-One Bed

This bed is like a whole room. They should put them in hotels and they’d be able to make the rooms even smaller if they wanted to. Teenagers are falling in love with this design and I can see why.

27) Boxes Should Always Fit

In my opinion, unless boxes have varying cool designs, then they should fit together. It makes people want to buy them for some reason and is delightful to look at on the shelves. Kashi knows what it’s all about.

28) Don’t Distract The Kids

These checkout lines are absent of candy so people on diets aren’t tempted and parents don’t have to listen to their kids whine for it. This is a wonderful idea and there’s no reason not to have at least one of them in your store.

29) Green Man Means Go

This light pole has a button that seniors can press to extend the crossing time in this eight lane highway. That’s brilliant and a great way to promote the safety of ur citizens. Just scan your card and go!

30) Work For That Charge

This charging station requires you to pedal if you want to charge your phone. That’s a great energy saver and it encourages people to be active. Some people will sit there just to get a free workout in.

31) Better Than The Bank Sign

This apartment complex has a thermometer on the side. Now, it’s not unusual for banks and churches to have these on them but they are just a number. There’s something about this old-fashioned design that’s intriguing.

32) Got BitCoin?

This is a bitcoin atm. Which doesn’t make too much sense since bitcoin isn’t exactly tangible. But then again, it means anyone can use it at anytime. If I saw this, I’d try to convert my coin immediately, just for fun.

33) Guess Where We Are

These tiles were found at the US Postal Museum and they should be put in at all post offices in the country. They are a little Easter egg for you to find and feels like a welcome mat to visitors.

34) Just Make The Call

Please don’t do anything rash before seeking help. This bridge has a crisis hotline for people to call if they are feeling suicidal in hopes that no on will hesitate to reach out in their time of need.

35) Thank You For The Food, Miguel

This man is the one who packed these tomatoes. If only more food put a picture of the person that packed them, two things would happen. It would feel more personal and that person would pack them more carefully.

36) Hit The Right Spot

This shower lets you set the perfect temperature. It has a gauge that suggests you stay in the green but that doesn’t mean you can’t heat it up or cool it down, it’s all about preference. Put me in the red, please!

37) What A Nice Dishwasher

This dishwasher is super high end! It looks amazing! But the best part is that it shows how much time is left on the cycle. You can then decide if you want to take out the garbage before or after you unload the dishwasher.

38) Marry That Man

Anyone who gets a ring box that is this cool deserves to put that ring on your finger. It looks like a regular lense but if you rotate it and “zoom in” then it twists out and surprises the love of your life.

39) Better Than A Mint

We grab a mint and toothpick on the way out of a restaurant. But this restaurant has a toothbrush dispenser for a one-time use. I would buy one of these every time I ate out if all restaurants had them.

40) Travel TP

Looking at these now, it’s hard to believe there was a time when no one thought about toilet paper. They got what they needed and carried on. This year, everything changed. But this one isn’t particularly useful because we shouldn’t be traveling.

41) It’s Not Always Worth It

Sadly enough, people die every year trying to cross the border. This sign has a button that will send medical help straightaway to attend to anyone who is in need of medical attention. These should be at more places.

42) It’s Not Christmas

It may look like Christmas but it’s actually just letting you know which spots are open and which ones aren’t. The ones with green lights are vacant, which is a really amazing way to set up a parking garage.

43) Van Gogh Fans Get It

For those who don’t know it, Van Gogh cut his own ear off after a temper tantrum. Now, that’s something you don’t hear every day. At least he didn’t hurt anyone else and now we have this awesome necklace in remembrance.

44) Fog No More

This mirror heats up to prevent condensation on it from your shower. That totally beats wiping it off with your towel and leaving streaks. Hotels are really stepping it up and becoming better than our homes.

45) Add Some Coke And We’ll Talk

This grocery store allows you to walk around with a beer while you shop. They should add soda and juices for kids. Although, in some states, drinking alcohol in public places like this is not allowed.

46) A Strange “Idea”

This girl got her milkshake served in a light bulb and I am not okay with that. I don’t know if this was a themed restaurant but there aren’t many themes that would make me want to drink out of a lightbulb. It’s cool and all, but it’s still a lightbulb.

47) Every Sheet Needs One

Fitted sheets are a pain. These tags lessen that pain by letting you know which side is the long side and which is the short one. Maybe the next invention will help us fold them properly.

48) Try Not To Sleep

I thought this was a place where you just go and sleep and I was excited about it. Turns out, it’s a movie theater with awesome chairs and now I have added it to my bucket list. There’s even a table for snacks!

49) The Best View In The Fence

Dogs are always trying to peek through the fence. On occasion, they’ll even claw their way out or make a hole. These little playplace windows let your dog look outside the fence without wreaking any havoc.

50) Look At Those Ears

Most “kitty” doors are actually repurposed doggy doors. But this cat door was made especially for cats and it shows. It would be cute if it were just a circle, but the ears and whiskers make it too adorable not to buy.

51) Look At All Those Services

Many are intrigued by the massage service at a hotel. But the real gem is the lamp that you can turn half of, on. For when one person wants to go to sleep but the other person does not.

52) Keep It Cool, Guys

This bar has a strip of ice along the bar to keep your drink cool. I mean, who has time for their beer to warm up? It’s not the practicality that counts, it’s the thought. Besides, there are those times when you get stuck in a long conversation.

53) For Pouring Purposes

Only a real cook can figure out why this is so useful. It has perfect markers for pouring liquid into the cups or when tilted the cup backwards. It’s the little things in life that really keep us going.

54) Light It Up Your Way

These “booklights” aren’t lights for your books, they are lights that look like books. There are multiple ways to set them up and they all work fabulously. Try doing it a different way each day to switch things up.

55) This Immigration Office Is Doing It Right

This immigration office in Korea has reading glasses for people who need them. Why not provide glasses if you’re going to provide a pen? Some people need glasses just as much as they do something to write with.

56) Innovative Design Winner

I’ve awarded this stall with this award because it deserves it. In case you haven’t noticed, it’s in the shape of a donut box and it’s selling donuts. That’s a pretty brilliant idea and it’s why Krispy Kreme is king.

57) The Swiss Strike Again

This train has a special car for children. There are toys, the seats are unique, and the walls are covered in paintings. Every country should have one of these, just like every airport should have a play area.

58) In Case You Forget

There are many reasons why you would use this. Sometimes, you forget to striaghten your hair, other times you didn’t know you’d need to look nice. Then there’s the times when static or rain ruins your plans!

59) Keep Your Phone Safe

The tables at this cool restaurant don’t just have pennies on them. But they also have slots for you to put your phone. The slots are sealed on five sides so that any liquid that is spilled won’t reach your device.

60) Dizzy Stairs

These stairs probably have more people fall down them than the average flight does. However, it looks pretty cool so hopefully no one gets hurt because it would be a shame for them to be taken down.

61) Perfection, The Real Avocado

This avocado has a sticker on it to let you know if it is ripe or not. Most companies just want you to buy the avocado but this one lets you know when the time is right. Use soft ripe for guac and firm ripe for avocado toast.

62) Dogs Deserve Treats Too

If you’re going to get yourself a snickers, you might as well get your dog a bacon strip too. This vending machine is made for dogs and has all of his favorite treats along with tools and toys you might need on the go for them.

63) Now You’ll Know How It Looks

This dressing room lets you see what your outfit will look like in the sun, at night, and indoors. That’s super helpful because the lighting is always off in the dressing room and the outfit looks totally different because of it.

64) Collect Them All

This glass periodic table comes with all of the affordable and safe elements in it. If you look closely, you can see the texture of each of them too. It’s pretty amazing and a tool that every school should use to teach the elements.

65) The Final Countdown

This traffic light has a countdown on it to let you know when it will turn yellow, then when it will turn green, then red. That’s way better than blowing on the light and pretending that it’s going to make it change.
