Obesity in America has been a serious issue for over 2 decades. The truth is, losing weight isnโt as easy as TV ads make it seem and taking a magic pill wonโt do the trick. It takes plenty of hard work and consistency to lose those pesky pounds.
Thatโs why weight loss success stories are always incredible to hear about.

An Arizona man named Pat Brocco has really changed the game when is comes to dropping sizes. Pat was always known as a bigger kid, starting from a young age. His friends even gave him nicknames like โFat Patโ and โFatty Pattyโ.
But at 28-years-old he got a serious wake-up call when he weighed in at 605 lbs.

Patโs doctor warned him that his life was in danger because of his unhealthy lifestyle. After that doctorโs visit, Pat was looking at himself in a different way. He told ABC News,
โMy stomach was down to my thighs. My chest was hanging down here, I was disgusted.โ
Thatโs when Pat was committed to changing his life for the better.

He throughout all of the food in his house and decided that every time he was hungry heโd walk to his local Walmart to pick up each meal. The walk was 2 miles there and back and Pat would end up walking 6 miles a day to pick up his groceries. Pat told ABC News,
โItโs amazing because I never walked 6 miles in my life, and I was doing it every day.โ
Pat changed his diet entirely by adding nutritious foods like vegetables, meats, sweet potatoes, quinoa, and steel-cut oatmeal to his regular menu.

He cut out all of the junk foods and learned what foods were helping him lose weight and what foods werenโt. He informed ABC News,
โOnce I figured out dairy was my downfall, I took it out of my diet, and instantly I started losing weight again.โ
Once he lost a good amount of weight, Pat was finally able to join a gym.

He started lifting weights and using the machines that he previously couldnโt even use. After 2 years of his drastic lifestyle change, Pat had lost 200 pounds. His jaw-dropping transformation proves that anything is possible when you stay dedicated and determined.
He went from 53% body fat to 10% body fat and has now lost over 300 lbs!

Now thatโs an American sucess story right there. Itโs important to remember not everyone can drop sizes the same way. Ever body is different and some diets and workout plans that worked for others might not be the right fit for you. As for Pat, he found the best plan for him and itโs definitely paid off!
His incredible comeback has transformed Patโs life and heโs now able to set and example for his young son as well!
