Statistics and polls show that people can spend up to two hours on the toilet each and every week, adding up to several months of their overall lifetime’s spent sitting on the porcelain throne. It’s fascinating, and a little disconcerting, to realize just how much time we can spend using the toilet, but when you’ve gotta go, you’ve gotta go!
However, while your own home toilet might be nice and normal, there are some very weird toilets out there around the world! Some of them can be found in bars and cafes, while others have been spotted in people’s homes, abandoned buildings, or even out in the middle of nature. A Facebook group called Toilets With Threatening Auras regularly shares photos of freaky toilets, and here are 60 of their weirdest finds!
1) The Natural Toilet
Imagine walking through the woods one day and spotting this! Someone clearly thought that this unique tree formation looked just like a toilet, so decided to bring along some toilet paper and do their business in the open air.
2) A Leap Of Faith
You’d need a whole lot of courage to even get to this toilet, which is perched on a little platform, hovering above a huge drop!
3) Keeping An Eye
If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that nobody wants to be watched while they use the bathroom, especially not by a security camera when you have no idea who is on the other end.
4) Really?
If you go camping, you have to accept that you might not get to use a regular restroom, but is this really necessary? Wouldn’t it be better to just find a bush out in the wilderness so you can at least have a little privacy?
5) Not Too Comfortable
This makeshift toilet doesn’t exactly scream comfort or luxury! It’s just an old chair with the seat hollowed out and some gross rags wrapped around the sides.

We really don’t get this one! It looks almost like a meeting room or mini movie theater with all those seats and then one little toilet, without any doors, walls, or privacy whatsoever. What goes on in this room!?

One of the perils of living in an apartment building is having neighbors across the way who can see right in through your windows, and this is the absolute worst possible example of that!

This bathroom has one of the weirdest designs you’ll ever see. There’s a set of stairs just randomly cutting off, right above the toilet. It seems like you need to use the toilet and then step on top of it just to get out of there.

This one doesn’t exactly have a ‘threatening aura’ in the traditional sense, but it sure is strange! Whoever owns this home is clearly crazy about the Polo Ralph Lauren brand. They’re even willing to decorate the toilet seat with a fluffy branded cover.

This toilet has been locked away in a kind of locker or wardrobe, with lots of little doors all stacked on top of each other. You can open the doors to access the toilet, but there’s not enough space to close them and give yourself any privacy.

Someone thought it would be funny to install pictures of Hawkeye from The Avengers in this public restroom, showing Jeremy Renner gazing intently at you as you use the urinal.

If you have claustrophobia, be sure to stay away from this toilet! The room is so narrow, it looks like the walls are closing in and it would be pretty difficult for most people to even get in there and sit down comfortably.

We hope the makers of this sign were just joking when they installed it right beside a urinal, but maybe they really didn’t realize just how silly it looks.

It looks like Spider-Man is the only one who can even get near this urinal, which has been positioned super high up on the wall with little climbing handholds leading up to it. We’re shivering just thinking of how unhygienic it would be to climb up there.

Many people have a problem with the thought of someone seeing them use the restroom. The designers of this place clearly didn’t care about that! They put a funny photo of lots of waving, smiling people right on the floor to greet you when you sit down.
