1) Alec Baldwin Saved Some Fishermen In Distress
Alec Baldwin proved to be a real hero more than a decade ago. A guy and his friends were out fishing on a little boat in North Carolina.
Their fishing lines got tangled up with the motor and they washed up on a nearby island.
One of the group went looking for help and found Alec Baldwin himself! The star attempted to fix the boat and then took one of the guys back to his house to call for help.


2) Jay Leno Never Forgets His Fans
Whether you find him funny or not, Jay Leno is apparently a pretty great guy to his fans.
One guy revealed that when he was 17, he was given a backstage pass to the Tonight Show. He met Leno, who spoke to him for around ten minutes and asked various questions about his life.
A whole year later, the kid got a letter from Leno congratulating him on recently graduating high school!


3) The Late Great Terry Pratchett
The late Terry Pratchett was one of the greatest fantasy authors of all time.
He was also an awesome person, donating a lot of money to Alzheimer’s research.
One fan revealed that he’d spoken with Pratchett multiple times and always found him to be “amazingly accommodating with his fans.”


4) Happy Whatever!
We all know John Travolta from classic films like Grease, Saturday Night Fever, and Face/Off.
When one girl was having dinner to celebrate her cousin’s 21st birthday, they happened to be eating in the same restaurant as the big star.
Seeing the happy gathering, Travolta walked over and wished them all a “Happy whatever the occasion is!” What a nice gesture.


5) Junior Seau Was A Magical Man
Former NFL All-Pro linebacker, Junior Seau, tragically committed suicide in 2012.
Many still mourn him to this day, especially those who know what a good person he was.
One guy was volunteering at a local event to honor sporting hero Jimmie Johnson
. Seau was in attendance and handed out orchids to all the volunteers, taking the time to thank them for helping out.


6) Drive-By Joker Will Arnett
Will Arnett is best-known for his role in the comedy classic, Arrested Development, and he’s apparently a pretty funny dude in reality too.
One guy was lucky enough to pull up beside him in traffic while driving through Winnipeg.
He called out to the star and got him to wind his window down, yelling out “What the heck are you doing here?”
Arnett jokingly responded “I know right? I must have made a wrong turn in Saskatchewan.


7) Charlie Day Is A Party Animal
Charlie Day, of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fame, was attending the same New Year’s Eve house party as one Redditor who revealed that the actor high-fived him and was simply amazing at karaoke.
Sounds like he’s a great guy to be around!


8) Humble Harry Potter
Everyone who grew up with the Harry Potter movies can recognize Daniel Radcliffe. So, when the star stepped into a Vancouver bar, the workers were astonished to see The Boy Who Lived inside their establishment.
One of the workers revealed that Radcliffe was “super chill” and took photos with various people.
They added that the British actor also seemed “very genuine” and “wore pretty simple clothes”, not flashing his cash at all.


9) Super Sandra Bullock
Sandra Bullock, star of amazing movies like Bird Box and Speed, stepped into a store at Pittsburgh airport one morning.
The store was empty as it was quite early in the day and there was only a single worker there too.
The star chatted with that worker about the city for a little while and was very nice and friendly.


10) The Force Is Strong With This One
One of the most iconic actors of the sci-fi world, Mark Hamill is famed for his incarnation of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars Series. Back during the big Star Wars Celebration event in 2007, one fan was trying to get into a busy elevator with his girlfriend.
Someone reached out of the elevator and pulled them inside.
It was Hamill himself!
Hilariously, the guy’s girlfriend (who is now his wife) wasn’t even a Star Wars fan and didn’t recognize Luke Skywalker, while the guy himself was totally starstruck.


11) The Lovely Elijah Wood
Many of us know Elijah Wood as the heroic hobbit, Frodo Baggins, in the Lord of the Rings movies.
Video game lovers also know Wood for his work on the Legend of Spyro games, in which the star voices the titular purple dragon.
One of those gamers was working in a bar when Wood walked in. He simply had to walk over and thank the star for his work on the games.
Wood seemed very pleased to hear the fan’s comments and was probably happy to hear about something besides LotR for once.

Joe Biden is in the news a lot and everyone has their view on the man’s politics, but regardless of whether you agree or disagree with Biden’s ideas, those who have met him say he’s very approachable.
One fan called Biden “a genuinely friendly guy… and hilarious” after meeting him a few years back.


13) Teenage Tony Hawk
Tony Hawk is the biggest name in skateboarding, consistently pulling off the craziest tricks, and he always has time for his fans.
When one fan met him, they described Hawk as “basically a teenager in a 40 year-old’s body”, adding that he seemed very “innocent” and took time out of his day to visit a local middle school and speak with students.


14) The Greatest
One of the best boxers of all time, Muhammad Ali was an absolute legend both in and out of the ring.
Back in the early 90s, a fan plucked up the courage to walk over and say hi after spotting Ali in a New York airport lounge.
Ali was really welcoming and friendly, sitting and talking with guy for nearly a half hour before he had to leave for his flight. The fan called Ali “the nicest, kindest man.”


15) Call Me Whoopi
Academy Award winner Whoopi Goldberg was attending Comic Con a couple of years ago.
She was speaking to cosplayers and learning about their hobby. One guy was dressed up as Slenderman and Goldberg spotted him, calling him over for an interview. She was very friendly and seemed really interested in the different characters people liked to dress up as.
As the guy was leaving, he said “Thank you, Ms. Goldberg”, to which the star replied, “Oh please, it’s just Whoopi!”


16) Free Hugs From Steve Buscemi
Many people know Steve Buscemi purely from his movie and TV work in the likes of Reservoir Dogs, Con Air, and Boardwalk Empire. What you might not know is that Buscemi is also a trained firefighter and an all-round awesome guy.
Someone spotted him hanging around outside a comedy club in LA and asked if he could have a hug.
Buscemi could have gotten annoyed or ignored the fan, but instead he simply shrugged and gave the guy a hug!


17) A Puppy From Mickey
Mickey Rourke is famed for his incredible acting talents, and he’s also a huge dog lover.
He even credits his dogs with keeping him alive and helping him through depression.
When a girl spotted Rourke and one of his dogs in a New York restaurant, the star took the time to talk to her about the breed and even offered her a puppy!
She said that her parents wouldn’t let her have a dog, but Rourke went and spoke to them and offered to cover the costs of a new family pet. The girl called hew new dog ‘Mickey’ in honor of Rourke’s kindness.


18) Steve Martin Is So Polite
A guy was working at the ‘Race for Atlantis’ attraction at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. He was in charge of giving a little speech before the ride starts and getting everyone hyped up. His girlfriend (now wife) also worked on the ride and called up to say that Steve Martin was in line! Moments later, the comedy legend stepped through. He shook the guy’s hand and was politely paid attention during the whole speech, shaking the guy’s hand again at the end and thanking him.


19) What A Nice Man
George Takai is an absolute icon for Star Trek fans and is often mentioned as one of the friendliest people you could ever hope to meet at a Comic Con or even just out on the street. One guy and his wife spoke with Takai at a Comic Con event in Kansas City. Instead of just giving them an autograph and moving them along, Takai shook their hands and chatted with them for several minutes about his daughter, his work, the weather, and more.


20) Tony Curran Has A Huge Heart
Scottish actor Tony Curran has been seen in various films and shows over the years. One fan broke down into tears upon meeting him, remembering how he’d appeared in her favorite episode of Doctor Who. Curran wiped the tears away from her cheeks and gave her a big hug. Not only that, he even remembered her when seeing her again a year later at the same convention.


21) Doctor Who?
Another Doctor Who star, Christopher Eccleston, was spotted in a supermarket around the time he was appearing as the Doctor in the popular British sci-fi show. A young boy saw the actor, who pretended to be in character, saying that his Tardis was parked outside and even giving the kid a £2 coin to buy himself something he liked.


22) Malcolm McDowell Never Ignores A Fan
One of Malcolm McDowell’s most iconic roles was as Alex DeLarge in A Clockwork Orange. A big fan of the film was thrilled to meet McDowell by chance one day. The star came over to say hello and the fan responded by quoting a line from the film. McDowell laughed happily and said he hadn’t heard that quote before. The pair then spent half an hour chatting about the movie!


23) A Brush With Greatness
One David Bowie fan had a bit of an odd encounter with the star many years ago. The guy was working at an NYC theater where Bowie was in the audience with his family. He was asked to escort the iconic singer backstage after the show to meet the cast and crew. The guy was so anxious, he ducked out into a restroom on the way, but Bowie followed him and the pair peed side by side! Not many people can say they’ve been in that kind of situation with a pop legend.

In the early 2000s, Vanilla Ice was touring around colleges in the United Kingdom. Many fans just went along to hear him sing Ice Ice Baby, but one hardcore fan stayed after the show and told the rapper how much they liked his other work. Vanilla Ice was so happy he offered the guy and his girlfriend free drinks in his private VIP spot and partied with them through the night.


25) An Inspiring Encounter
Pretty Woman and Primal Fear star Richard Gere was walking along the same street where a couple were handing out flyers. The wind picked up and blew a bunch of flyers out of the woman’s hands, so the actor ran right over and helped her pick them up, saying “Don’t worry, it gets better” and smiling before walking away.


26) To A Galaxy Far, Far Away
Oscar winner and Harvard graduate Natalie Portman is one of the most successful women in the movie-making world. The first Star Wars prequel, The Phantom Menace, was one of Portman’s most career-defining roles. She was doing an interview with ABC and got talking with one of the guys backstage. He loved Star Wars and couldn’t believe the news when she told him she’d be playing the mother of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. He joked “Take me with you!” and she said “Where?”, to which he replied “To the Star Wars!” Portman laughed and the guy said it was “the greatest feeling in the world” to share that moment with her.


27) What A Loss
The world was devastated to learn of the passing of the late Robin Williams. The iconic comedy actor was an inspiring and amazing man who touched a lot of people’s lives. A guy was once on vacation and bumped into the Patch Adams star at an ice cream shop. Williams sat at the guy’s table and talked with him for around 45 minutes.


28) A Very Funny Man
Late night talk show host Stephen Colbert is famed for his quick wit and hilarious sketches. He’s just as funny behind the scenes, without any scripts or jokes pre-written. When a guy bumped into him and asked if he could take a picture, Colbert grabbed the guy’s camera and snapped a photo of a nearby tree to prove that he “could take a picture”. The host then offered to take one of the guy and they snapped a selfie together too.


29) Mark Hamill Strikes Back
Mark Hamill is back for more, proving what a wonderful person he really is. During the Star Wars Celebration convention, a girl and her boyfriend met the Luke Skywalker actor and got his autograph. The girl got called “sssssmokin'” by Hamill and she said he was “just lovely” to meet.


30) Adam Sandler Is A Big Softie
Prolific comedy actor and producer Adam Sandler was spotted in an NYC restaurant on the same night as a group of guys were celebrating a bachelor party together. Sandler saw the happy friends and walked over to their table, asking a few questions and congratulating the groom-to-be. He also told them that it was important to savor such happy moments and spend time with good friends. What a sweet message!


31) He Is Ron Perlman!
You might recognize Ron Perlman from the likes of Hellboy or Sons of Anarchy. One fan spotted the actor, in an inebriated state, outside of an In N Out in LA. They said “Hey are you Ron Perlman?” to which the actor responded “What? Ron Perlman? Yeah, I’m Ron Perlman. I am Ron Perlman!” and then they hugged.


32) Magical Margot Robbie
A lot of people admire the acting talents of Margot Robbie and one fan, who also had a big crush on the Australian star, was astonished to see her walk into the NYC restaurant where he worked. The guy tried to keep his cool and treat Robbie like a regular customer. She really appreciated it, leaving a big tip, complimenting the guy on his professionalism, and even speaking to the manager about him. Robbie still eats at the restaurant sometimes and is now on a first-name business with the server!


33) The People’s President
Barack Obama was once the most powerful man on the planet as President of the United States, but people always enjoyed how grounded and down-to-earth he seemed, always taking the time to chat with citizens and understanding the issues of real people. Before he was such a big name, Obama was attending a simple town hall meeting in 2008. One attendee reported how the ex-president showed real interest and concern for the people and shook hands with everybody.


34) What A Guy!
A big John Mayer fan was so excited to attend one of the singer’s concerts after winning tickets on a radio show contest. She took the time to paint a picture of Mayer and hoped he might sign it after the show. After waiting in line, she finally met Mayer and presented him with the painting. His manager walked over and said “No autographs!” but Mayer overruled him, thanking the girl for painting such a nice picture and signing it for her.


35) Not As Scary As He Seems
Marilyn Manson has quite an intimidating appearance and is renowned for his dark, gothic music and lifestyle. Beneath all that shadowy exterior, however, he’s a really normal and friendly guy. A teenage fan and her sister were thrilled to meet the singer. He let them play with his cat and was “very sweet” to them, lifting the younger sister up in his arms to pose for a photo together.


36) Best. Birthday. Ever.
A true American treasure, Bill Murray is beloved by all and still makes us laugh in his classic movies like Groundhog Dog and Ghostbusters. The actor and his son were visiting a small art gallery one day. A UPS delivery worker walked in and couldn’t believe her luck at meeting Bill Murray on her birthday. Murray and his son then lifted the woman and rocked her back and forth as the actor sang ‘Happy Birthday’!


37) Spanish Sandler
Adam Sandler appears again! This touching story takes place in an elevator in Mexico. A grandma, who only spoke Spanish and loved Sandler’s movies, wanted to tell him what a big fan she was. Sandler made a real effort to try and speak Spanish with her and thanked her for the support.


38) Terrific Tim Burton
Tim Burton is one of the most popular and successful movie directors of all time, so it was no surprise that the line to get his signature was super long at one event. The workers there went along the line and told people that Burton wouldn’t have time to see them all as he had a private movie screening to attend. However, the director didn’t want to give up on his fans. He stayed and signed autographs for every single one of them and even gave his email address to an aspiring animator after looking over her portfolio.


39) This Bad Day Got A Whole Lot Better
Imagine meeting a major celebrity and not even realizing who they are! That’s what happened to one restaurant worker, who was having a bad day and feeling quite distracted when Renee Zellweger, star of the Bridget Jones movies, walked in. The server messed up on Zellweger’s order a couple of times, but she was really friendly and understanding about it. It was only when the server saw “R Zellweger” on the credit card that they realized who they’d been serving. Zellweger left a huge tip too!


40) May The Force Be With You
Hayden Christensen is best known for playing Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels. He walked into a bar one day and one of the workers, who was secretly a big fan, pretended not to know who he was at first before saying “May the force be with you!” as they handed him a beer. Christensen smiled back, said “And also with you,” and even left a big tip.


41) He Is The One Who Knocks
Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston was spotted at the Bellagio in Las Vegas by one megafan. The fan yelled out “It’s Heisenberg”, referencing Cranston’s character on the show. The actor could have just ignored him or smiled and carried on, but he instead dived into character and marched over to the man, saying “”How dare you call me out like that! If people knew who I was, I wouldn’t be in this business. Next time you call me out like that be ready for a barrel.” He then gave the guy an autograph and chatted with him about the show for a little while.


42) All You Need Is Love
Billions of music fans around the world would love to meet Paul McCartney in the flesh. Back when the Beatles singer was married to Linda McCartney, he and his wife were dining at a restaurant. Their server did his best to treat them like regular people, even though he was a huge fan and even wearing a Yellow Submarine necklace, and Paul took the time to thank him for doing so.


43) A Real Hero
Steve Zahn, who has appeared in movies like Reality Bites and Dallas Buyers Club, is apparently a really chill guy in reality. He was once spotted at a gas station helping a guy push his truck onto the parking lot and even giving him $20 to buy some gas. Another time, in the same area, Zahn jumped out of his car to help an old guy who fell out of his wheelchair. It’s almost like he’s just driving around looking for people he can help!


44) A Very Special Compliment
Meeting a star you admire is always amazing, but getting complimented by one is even better! A guy was simply walking around Walmart when he noticed that something he needed was on a top shelf. He climbed up to get it and landed back down in the aisle, looking around and seeing a guy watching him. It was Die Hard star, Bruce Willis, who said the guy had some “pretty cool Spider-Man skills”.


45) He’ll Never Be Forgotten
The amazing Robin Williams has already appeared earlier in this list, and here he is again. A guy and his grandma bumped into the Good Will Hunting actor at a Whole Foods. Williams was eating alone, so when the two fans walked over to say hello, he offered them a seat at his table. He started doing funny voices to try and make the boy laugh, and even now, many years later, the guy still looks back on this as “one of the greatest moments of my life”.


46) Finally, Something Different!
Many actors hear the same old questions and comments from fans, especially when they’re best known for one very iconic role. Patrick Stewart is one of those people and gets asked all the time about his work on Star Trek. Well, when a server met him at a New York restaurant, she commented on how much she enjoyed his performance in Hamlet earlier that year. Stewart was so happy to talk about something different to Star Trek for once that he took the time to chat with her all about the theatre and his love for Shakespeare.


47) Mr. Cool
We can all pretty much agree that Keanu Reeves is the coolest man on the planet right now. The John Wick star is also a really nice guy behind the scenes. Back during the peak of The Matrix popularity, a guy yelled out “Yo Neo!” after seeing Reeves in NYC. The fan then imitated the famous bullet dodge scene from the movie. Reeves could have ignored him, but he laughed and did the same move back.


48) Alrighty Then!
Renowned funnyman Jim Carrey did a big favor for a fan several years ago. The fan was stranded after his car ran out of gas during a drive around Bel Air. Carrey stopped by and offered to give the guy a ride to a gas station. The fan showed Carrey his Ace Ventura impression and the pair laughed all the way to the station. Carrey even paid for the guy’s gas and took him back to his car to fill it up.


49) Life Really Is Like A Box Of Chocolates
As well as being one of the best actors ever, Tom Hanks is also a lovely person, as one fan found out when standing in line behind the star at a Best Buy. She knew she couldn’t pass up an opportunity to tell Hanks how much she loved Forrest Gump. He responded in a very friendly way, saying how much he loved making the movie and chatting with the girl while they waited to be served. He then paid for the water bottle she was buying and even did his Forrest Gump voice before saying goodbye.


50) It’s Him Again!
Yes, we’ve got one more Robin Williams story to share with you. A guy was jogging around the San Francisco Marina in the late 90s when he spotted Robin Williams simply sitting there in his van. He went over and asked how the actor was doing. Williams jokingly responded “I’m doing great, you running from the cops?” They chatted for five minutes and the guy said Williams was “absolutely delightful”, adding that he “wept” after hearing the news about the star’s death many years later.


51) Be Excellent To Each Other
Bill & Ted star Keanu Reeves is here again. One time, a guy and his friend were on their way to the bus stop. To save time and ensure that they didn’t miss the bus, they decided to hop through some backyards. After jumping over a few fences, they landed in the yard of Keanu Reeves himself! The actor saw the guys but didn’t get mad about them trespassing. He chatted with them and even allegedly offered them a ride!


52) A Class Act
A guy and his co-workers were doing some electrical work at a venue for a Tony Bennett performance. The singing sensation saw them working hard and ordered them to put down their tools, taking them backstage and asking the chef to cook them all a meal to give them a well-earned break.


53) Like A Good Friend
One guy spotted Fast & Furious star Paul Walker eating at a downtown LA burger joint. The fan awkwardly approached the actor and said “Hey, aren’t you Paul Walker?” Walker laughed and chatted with the guy about cars, surfing, and more for a little while. The fan said it felt like “talking to a good friend” and was heartbroken to hear about Walker’s death just six months after their meeting.

If you’re lucky enough to work at a high end bar or restaurant in the LA area, there’s a good chance you might meet a few celebrities every now and then. One guy had a job at a Montecito bistro that several local stars often visited. One of them was Back to the Future legend, Christopher Lloyd. Lloyd asked the guy to call him Chris, right from the start, and was always very friendly to him, with the pair talking about football and even solving crosswords together.

Jack Black is famously funny and friendly in almost any film role he plays, but how is he in reality? Exactly the same! A family of fans passed Black while walking through LA one day. They called out to him and he stopped to chat and take photos with them for a little while. He chatted with every single member of the family, including the six kids. Sounds like a truly nice guy.


56) Now That’s Fan Service
Some celebrities don’t really “do” social media, but others love to engage with their fans online. Tracy Morgan, star of Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock, was doing an AMA (ask me anything) on Reddit on the same day as a fan’s birthday. The fan asked Morgan to tell his favorite joke as a birthday gift. Instead, the star made the fan a special personalized photo, wished him a happy birthday on Twitter, and called him the “coolest dude on Earth”.


57) You Have One Missed Call From The Janitor
Neil Flynn is known for his comedic roles on shows like Scrubs (where he played the janitor) and The Middle (in which he starred as Mike). A lot of people love Neil’s contributions to sitcoms over the years, and one family was happy to spot him in a Chicago bar. They told him that their neighbor was a huge fan, so he offered to call the guy up and left a special voicemail message!


58) Steve Is O So Nice To His Fans
Steve-O is famous for his crazy stunts and wild antics in Jackass. He also does stand-up comedy shows. One fan was impressed to see that after the show ended, Steve-O promised to stick around as long as necessary to take pictures with everyone. Rebel Wilson was once invited on to do an interview with a radio station. The workers there were amazed to see how friendly she was. She got there early, bringing the whole team a bunch of chocolate-covered Oreos and making them laugh before the show started.

You might not know that famous Hollywood actor Michael Douglas is a big fan of the University of California, Santa Barbara basketball team. Another school was playing UCSB when the word started to go around that Douglas was in the crowd. Instead of dodging fans and leaving early, Douglas stuck around and signed more than a hundred autographs, greeting everyone warmly and patiently.


Imagine meeting someone you idolize and learning that they’re a bit of a jerk.
