Have you ever heard the saying beggars can’t be choosers? It basically means if you are asking for a handout, don’t be so ignorant as to make demands along with it. If you ask for something, be happy with what you get. Don’t demand more.
Or if a store or service is offering a freebie of something, you are grateful for it. You don’t demand better, because they didn’t have to give you anything in the first place.
Clearly, there are a lot of people unaware of these common sense rules.
1. May I suggest a magnifying glass?a
This has to be some stupid kid. No fully functioning adult would think this would work. A Dell Alienware 17” is way over the top for what they supposedly need.
2. Nothing is free.
Someone needs to learn that. They got a FREE CAR and they’re complaining about expenses. Welcome to the real world. It costs real money.
3. Nope, you would be wrong.
This would very unlikely be mutually beneficial. And if you want/need specific skill sets, you pay for them. You don’t ask for freebies.
4. We are giving something away!
Simple marketing. You offer something for free to entice new users or customers. Then there are stupid customers that feel you should be giving them even more.
5. I agree!
If you truly are starving, you will eat whatever someone gives you. If someone is willing to give you their leftovers, you don’t ask for something else!
6. Yes, they are laughing at you.
Why would anyone assume the CDs are free? Do people really have no concept of how this world works?
7. It is a sad situation
However, you don’t know the other side. Perhaps they person selling their RV needs the money. Then you come with your own sob story and asking for the RV now with some trade in furniture. Sell the furniture yourself, get the cash, buy the RV. That’s how it works!
8. Yeah, it doesn’t work like that
If this person was actually entering a program, any dog would do. And most trainers/programs will choose the puppies themselves. This sounds like someone trying to score a specific puppy.
9. Can you help us?
We would like to crush your business, but we need your help to do so. Please upload all of your years of hard work and provide us with your ID. Thank you!
10. No friends?
If you were injured and couldn’t walk your dog, wouldn’t you have friends willing to help you out? I would.
11. Do over please!
Oh, no. Someone else won the contest. Can you please do it again. Or just give me the prize if the other person doesn’t accept it?
12. Will pay $1
These cats can cost up to $3k. And this person is asking for one for a buck. If you really want a cat, a rescue will do.
13. Perhaps a kid?
One who hasn’t grasped the concept that people don’t usually work for free. Or how to spell, for that matter.
14. She didn’t learn it from dad.
Okay, someone risks their life to get your phone. Then you start making demands and threats that they bring it to you. Too many learn entitlement from their parents, but it looks like she didn’t learn it from her dad.
15. I want to help you out!
Yeah, you just want something free. And probably end up being a bridezilla and making someone’s life hell because you are cheap and a bitch.
16. Wait, what?
So someone actually wants you to pay them to take your goods. Huh. Most people understand that’s not the way it works.
17. I have a solution for this.
And it doesn’t cost anything! Just don’t pull into your parking spot, then you don’t have to back out. She’s not too smart, which makes me question exactly what she is doing on the front line.
18. Hey, I’m robbing you
And not only am I stealing from you, I’m telling you about it! I’m not proud. I’m also stupid, and I’m going to ask you to help me part with more of your work for free.
Then go harass him.
Why would you assume somebody giving something away also has something else they want to get away? And if someone else has put you want, shouldn’t you be in conversation with them?
20. And what have you done?
People are so quick to complain. Someone is offering money and help. And then someone else—who has probably never helped someone in their lives—complains that it isn’t enough.
21. She seems like a lovely person
I bet she doesn’t even have a job. She sits on her ass all day expecting freebies from hard working people.
22. It’s free!
So you I’m guessing this person could somehow use the free dishwasher. Meaning it’s already worth their time. But they want something else.
You know why this sign is on the door, right? Because choosy beggars have asked the question so many times, they needed to do it.
24. I’m a moronic teen influencer…
And everyone must be as stupid as I am. This business who has great stuff that I want won’t have the smarts to see my claims are true. And they’ll think sending me their most expensive products for free will be beneficial to their business.
25. This can’t be legit
Can it? Unfortunately, it can. There really are people like this in the world. Actually several of them if there’s a whole sub-Reddit dealing with them.
26. Don’t waste my time?
This person is either high or just brain damaged. What part of “no” didn’t compute? Even non-English speaking people understand the world no.
27. Sorry, you just weren’t worth it
So a business shuts down because of a catastrophic, life-threatening storm. And your biggest problem is the $300 worth of food in your fridge?
28. I have no respect for people like this.
The single mom, I mean. So what? Other people have bills to pay too. And they probably have their rates on their websites or advertised elsewhere. If it’s out of your price range, shop somewhere else.
29. You know what I would have done?
If people who run their own companies thought you should offer your services for free, here is the answer. Ask them what product or service they are giving you for free.
30. Bow down to me
That is basically what this so-called influencer is saying. And it’s despicable. There’s no need for me to pay you? In what universe?
31. Who are these people?
The ones that assume they can ask for whatever they want for free. Is that the way of their parents raised them?
32. I expect more from you.
Someone has gone out of their way to provide something free. Something for the community. And someone has the nerve to say they expect more?
33. Oh, the burn!
I hope Leigh saw this. A local BBQ put this up because a Yelp reviewer who wanted better than free.
34. Signed a local mechanics.
I guess he’s had a lot of complaints from people who feel they’re paying too much for his 30 minutes of work. There’s a dose of reality for them.
35. I’m reporting your ad?
People are idiots. First of all are offering $50 for something is posted for 30. In an ad that says there is no haggling.
36. Someone needs a dictionary.
So they can look up with selfish means. Selfish is not someone giving one of their fans $3000.
37. Here’s a tip!
Leaving a tip of any amount is not a law. And if it’s included up front, customers are made aware of that. Ultimately, a tip is a choice.
38. This is an excellent idea.
If people haven’t learned by now that shopping online is often cheaper than shopping in a local brick-and-mortar store, they deserve this mentioned surcharge.
39. Can I just keep them?
I’m actually a little speechless about this one. So if somebody asks if you have something, and you say sure, here they are, they automatically think they can have been forever?
