Did you know that spiders have “paws”? Well, technically, that is what they look like.
Yep, that is correct, these critters actually have cute paws or scientifically known as “tarsus”.

4) Macro shot of the Encyocratella Olivacea Sling
Tanzanian black & olive baboon or scientifically known as the Encyocratella olivacea has this beautiful paw/claw that helps it with climbing and even catching its prey.
A photo of a Heteroscodra Maculata or also called a Togo Starburst’s paw. This species is actually native to West Africa and is commonly found primarily in Togo and Ghana.
Did you know that the spider’s “claw” is called a Tarsal claw? These 2 claws are actually retractable and in species of spiders like the Phlogiellus, there is a hidden small 3rd claw present.
Looks like there are different colors of hairs and different textures as well. It’s beautiful but well, it might give us goosebumps too especially when we realize these are spiders we’re talking about.
Looks like a painting, right? In fact, it’s too pretty to be real indeed. From the colors to the yellow tint on the hair to the shiny Tarsal claws. It even looks so soft until you realize it’s a spider’s paw.
Yep, it’s so beautiful that you just want to go ahead and touch it. Looks so soft and that shade of pink is beautiful! Even if you are afraid of spiders, we think you’d still find this awesome!
This photo shows one spider leg. It seems so cute and it seems to be slowly stepping on something. If you look closely, the “paw” is a filled with lots of hairs! Those claws look scary too!
Looks like a tiny cat paw resting on a finger tip, only it’s not. It’s actually the photographer’s pet Tarantula! Look at that paw. Fascinating, isn’t it?
At first look, you’d think that this is a fluffy dog’s paw. Maybe a cat? Sorry, but this is still a Tarantula and this shot is so amazing! Who would really thought that they have such adorable paws?
Another amazing photograph. This leg is even resting on an actual web! Those “paws” that are a collection of hairs help a spider sling to surfaces and even those hairs that are sticking out have purposes!
This cute paw belongs to a Avicularia bicegoi or commonly known as a Pinktoed Tarantula. Did you know that those hairs that are sticking out help it to see and smell.
This Tarantula is making sure that her web is nice and strong. With the use of her Tarsal claws, this spider is able to wrap its strong web to its prey. Pretty amazing and a bit scary as well.
With an amazing technique in photography, this spider leg seem to bounce off beautiful colors and makes it more beautiful and stunning! Look at that claw and paw!
In the previous slides, you’ve found out the purpose of spider’s paw and its claw. Now, this close up focuses on the Tarsal claws and how it clings to the web.
In this brilliant photo, a Tarantula seems to be resting. Who wouldn’t be amazed at how beautiful this photo is? It’s tempting to run your fingers over those hairs.
This paw might look like a cat or dog’s paw, right? Then you realize that its not. With this amount of detail, it’s hard to know what exactly this is unless you’re in a slideshow of amazing spider paws.
Now, we may love to call them “paws” but for some experts or hobbyists, it’s called a claw tuft.
This means that these beautiful and sometimes cute paws are not actually the paws that we know. Claw tufts are rather just really dense bundles of hair.
Their paws can actually look like shoes sometimes. Just like this adorable photo. Looks like some type of bell-bottom pants if you ask us! Don’t you think so?
This paw/leg macro-shot doesn’t only make us see the beauty of the paw and tarsal claw but also the web. The web looks like it’s made of snow or even crystals.
Who wouldn’t fall in love with this photo? Aside from the fascinating fact that it’s a spider paw. The colors blend so well together. It’s more than just beautiful, it’s a treasure!
Did you know that aside from being awesomely beautiful, these densely packed hairs that we can see here are the ones responsible for enabling spiders cling to virtually ANY surface.
With this amazing macro photo, we are able to see what the tarsal claw looks like underneath. Wow, look at that detail? Who wouldn’t appreciate this creature?
The tarsal claw has many uses. One of its uses it to manipulate the spider’s silk thread, enabling them to make wonderful webs. Truly fascinating, isn’t it?
This photo shows not only the spider’s 2 legs but also a very beautiful set of majestic colors. Underneath each paw are threads of silk threads. Truly, having 8 legs is definitely better.
We’re serious, it’s not a cat’s paw. Though it may look like it, that’s actually a spider’s paw or foot. Those aren’t pads but a dense collection of hair.
After seeing so many beautiful photos of spiders. After understanding them, do you think you’re still afraid or did you already developed a passion for them as well?
We understand why most of us hate spiders. We can clearly say we are pretty terrified of them too. This photo is clearly a spider leg but somehow, it’s beautiful and not scary at all.
We’re wondering what makes us “not like” spiders. Is it those spikey hairs? The 8 legs? The size? What are your reasons? This one is rather fascinating, don’t you think?
We’ve been calling it cute paws but did you know that they are formally called the “tarsus”? These spiders sense of amazing hearing and smell is located here in the tuft.
Seems that this spider is asking a little help but kidding aside, look at how strong those Tarsal claws are! They maybe small but they are very powerful!
Even if you are not a spider lover, you can’t miss this beauty. Aside fromt heir visible paws, we can’t unseen how beautiful its legs are. We’re wondering where are the other 4?
Well, in its own way, this is really kinda sweet don’t you think so? It’s seems like this human and this spider are really close. Though, we might want to know what the other legs are doing too!
