50 Older People Trying, But Failing So Hard With Technology

While we’ve all had our fair share of “oops” when it comes to technology, but no one has had quite as many as the older generations. This is something we completely understand. After all, who do we go to when our car has a problem or we need to know how long to boil an egg? Google, of course, but grandma and grandpa aren’t far behind. Since we can relate, let’s go ahead and enjoy these times that these poor elderly peeps hard-failed with technology.

1) The Best of Editors

This eventual famous old lady is whiting out her monitor. Most kids these days have probably never used white out in their life. Here’s a tip, kids, don’t use it on your screen. This lady needs an award.

2) Emoji Mishap

Okay, so, this poor mother needs a lesson on emojis. I’ll admit we’ve all had emjoi oopsies. Who else thought the hi-five was praying hands? I sure did! But when you’re not sure, you probably should look it up. After all, you’d hate someone to think you’re laughing at their misfortune.

3) Amp Up the Volume

That’s not exactly what that is for. Close one, grandma, but no cigar. Just because it fits in the jack, doesn’t mean it goes there. But who are we to judge? Who hasn’t stuck your headphones in the wrong hole?

4) May Have Overheated

You know that old trick that went around telling people to put their phones in the microwave to prevent them from being bugged or hacked? Well, someones grandma took it too far and turned the microwave on! Perhaps she thought it would “kill the bugs”?

5) Old Asian Hack

You know that rice soaks up the water in your electronics, right? It’s a lifesaver for when you drop your phone in the toilet. Well, this grandpa got a little confused and added water to the rice. Just like it says to on the package.

6) How Polite

This is so sweet! This grandmother always tells Google please and thank you. They are the magic words after all. Maybe this generation could learn something about how to treat AI from this cool grandma.

7) Never Leave Your Consoles with Grandma

This grandson thought that if he put his PS2 in the corner, granny wouldn’t even notice it. Well, I guess she didn’t. She used it as her iron stand. That poor PlayStation will never be the same again.

8) Time Stands Still

This brings a whole new meaning to “time stands still” doesn’t it? This grandson was asked by his nana to fix her phone because the clock didn’t work. Is he a wizard because that was one quick fix!

Not gonna lie, this takes more patience than most of us could muster. This dude’s nana showed him her favorite websites/links. Only, this is how she types it in. No bookmarks, no copy/pasting. The top one is even a picture!

10) Why Even Argue About Pronunciation?

While we’re here wondering if it’s a soft or hard “G,” granny is asking Google how to print a moving picture. Her username is even “hello” which tells you something.

11) Spacebarcatastrophe

Don’t you hate it when one of your keys isn’t working? It happens all the time on your PC, but your phone? now that is interesting. The best part about this one is that Mum says not urgent in the middle of her text. Good to know.

12) Printing Apples

Under the right conditiosn, this could work. But you know, wouldn’t it be so much more convenient to print off the pages with bluetooth or Wi-fi printing? Not with that printer!

13) Batman Shouldn’t Wear White

Remember when that Jayden K. Smith Facebook thing was going around? We all thought about ourselves, but not this grandma. She started telling her grandbabies and other contacts to ignore that scam!

14) Love Her with Gravy

This poor mother tried to post a picture of her sweet pup, but instead somehow uploaded a picture of a Thanksgiving turkey. Now that’s a cofnusing combination. Maybe she loves her dog so much that she’s sharing her turkey with her.

This isn’t hard to understand. I mean, if you didn’t know much about computers, then of course you could confuse HP for DY. Especially since when you close it while using it, you can read it just like this.

Now, who needs a screen protector when your box is even better protection. Those Otter Boxes are way to expensive when good old cardboard is free. This dad is winning, right?

This dad thinks he sounds super smart asking questions like these. You know the type. Always making fun of bad grammar and simple mistakes. Bet he thinks he’s a science wiz now.

This isn’t a bad idea. When his grandmother complained about not being able to use her remote for all the buttons, this kid fixed her right up by exiling anything she didn’t need.

This grandkid opened his grandma’s laptop and was taken quite aback by what he saw. It looked like she set up her background with her own glowing face. Nothing wrong with that.

It takes a special old lady to get ads on her lock screen. But I guess that’s what you get for downloading Avast. This poor phone will never be the same again. but at least it has a nice signal and is fully charged.

This 90-year-old Japanese grandma thought it was so smart that she figured out a way to zoom in on the tiny smart phone. Now she can read anything she wants without struggling.

Grandmas are so sweet. They will always appreciate any gift you give them. Even if it is a New York skyline that they probably didn’t even want. Bet she got a kick out of learning what it actually was!

This is a broad one, but is it not true that every mom alive today uses her phone like that. There are even dads, country boys, and aunts that do the same.To each their own, I suppose.

This kid told his dad he needed a new mouse for gaming. But his dad didn’t give him money for a new one. He told him he had one tucked away that would work just fine.

This poor dad didn’t know how to turn his heart face cam off so just left it on. Even when sending pictures of his new oven to his daughter. Hope he doesn’t use this cam to list photos of his old one!

27) Yeah, Wi-Fi Rises

Wi-Fi is just energy and energy is heat so Wi-Fi must rise too. Right? It isn’t that silly of a thought, but it does make you laugh. I’m just impressed that she got that up there on here own. And still had the energy to put a teddy on top.

It’s kinda adorable how this grandmother sent selfies to her grandaughter via snail mail even though she took the pictures with her phone. Well, guess some things never change.

I wouldn’t exactly call this a fail, but this dad asked why they put patches in the art of the tv because it make the models look like they were pirates. Where they supposed to be pirates? Was that some sort of new slang?

Big “A” for effort! This grandma took her first selfie with her phone using the face cam. But she also used the mirror. She doesn’t know the whole reason face cams where invented was so we didn’t have to use the mirror. Still, she looks like loads of fun.

This mother is intelligent enough to work a job with Microsoft Office, but still has trouble finding it. Worry not, because this son is super cool. He made sure that she would never lose it again.

32) How Much Memory Does it Have?

Don’t you wonder how long this mom tried to fit this battery into the SD card slot before texting her son and asking her why it wasn’t working? Probably longer than we’d care to know.

This is why people shop at Kmart. They know that Carol’s cat was part of the family. What we want to know is if Earl’s guinea pig was ever adressed. Surely he was just as much a part of the family.

We have mixed feelings here. This dad knows how to text. Or at least how to send pictures on his flip phone. But he doesn’t know how to type on it. So he writes everything down he wants to say and sends the picture to his kids.

When over at her friends house studying, her friend’s grandma asked whose phone this was setting on the couch. Well, granny, let me tell you a little story about our time in college.

I can see how this played out. The mom thought that she couldn’t see the photo because her finger was currently in front of the lense. That would make sense if she were taking live pictures.

Why do old people insist on talking to each other in every post that they comment on. They really need introduced to Facebook Messenger because this really brings down the mood.

Okay, if you squint your eyes, you can see what this mom saw. They do kinda look like flesh-colored cat ears, I guess. And that headwrap definitely could be confused for an older lady.

This grandad posted this on his story not long ago. Without context, no still won! Guess people really are downers, aren’t they? Can you imagine the unrelated comments though? “I think so, Bill” and “Carol’s cat died again.”

This grandma is Sherlock! She was the first to notice that this guy’s sign changed regularly. Must be different days and he just always wears that same shirt. Everyone does have a favorite.

This grandma called her grandkid over to fix her computer. Whenever the kid got there, grandma said that her mouse was moving upside down. It took forever for anyone to figure out what happened.

Dads are the best. They think anything and everything is storage. Even that disk drive. That’s going to cause problems later. But for now, good luck finding your lottery ticket when Wednesday comes around.

We all have internet problems sometimes. But this grandma wanted to know why her screen to search was so tiny at the bottom and why did everything load so slow. Well, I think we’ve found the problem.

49) Oh, Grandma!

This is the most grandma thing we’ve ever seen. While it seems like a nice thing for your tower to match your furniture, it really won’t work out. Those things have enough trouble staying cool as it is.

50) Are These the Right Ones?

This mom tried to send a pic of grandma’s diapers so the grandaughter would know which kind. At first, she said, “the phone doesn’t let me send pictures!” Two hours later, she had it as her profile picture. Still hasn’t noticed it.
