You’ve probably met someone like this in your lifetime, you know, a person who’s so starved for attention that they’ll go to the extremes to get it. And now with social media, that means millions of people can see their posts. As you’re about to discover, these 50 people went a little bit too far in trying to garner attention. Let’s just say their attempts weren’t successful or appreciated.
This young gal wanted to impress people on social media with her hiking skills. And look, she’s not even breaking a sweat. No wonder, she had the photo taken in her backyard and then swapped out the background.
Dolphins are supposed to be in the ocean, not passed around like a football on land so people can take selfies. Especially when it’s just a baby. Sadly, this dolphin died.
As an older gentleman looks at beverages in a convenience store, a younger guy reaches in and grabs a bottle. He then takes a drink before putting it back in the cooler. Hey dude, no one’s amused, and we mean no one.
It’s good for parents to have fun with their kids. But not at the expense of a child, especially one that’s only two. Thinking she was being funny, this mom repeatedly
sprayed her young daughter in the face.
This goes beyond seeking attention. It’s stupid. Come one, anyone who swallows their classmate’s air pod, which ends up with a trip to the emergency room, has a few screws loose. His parents must be so proud.
6. What was she thinking?
This poor taxi cab driver is forcing a smile on the outside but cringing on the inside. He picked up several women who wouldn’t stop harassing him. They thought it would be hilarious to post their perversion online…NOT.
At some point in life, people have to grow up and make wise decisions. This individual hasn’t quite reached that point. After pouring the contents of a snow globe into a glass and drinking it, you guessed it, he had to go to the hospital.
8. Wrong time, wrong place
This kid was posting a video on Musical.ly while only feet away, his grandfather was dying in a hospital bed. Hey, how about paying attention to your grandpa instead. Sadly, he passed away.
Our waterways are already polluted enough. Plastic material is killing marine life at an alarming rate. Yet, this idiot purposely dumped plastic straws into the ocean.
Far too many people have zero respect for the environment. Here’s one of them. And to make this even worse, he’s spray painting boulders in the Yosemite National Park.
While this isn’t as bad as some, it’s still not good. Look, if you want to dye your hair neon green, that’s okay. And if you want to wear a bright red outfit from head to toe, that’s fine too. But please, don’t combine the two.
12. Manipulating the kids
Just to increase the number of views on her YouTube channel, one mother beat, starved, and pepper-sprayed all seven of her adopted kids to force them to perform. That’s horrible. The good news…she was arrested and the children placed in safe homes.
No, this is not photoshopped. This model actually puts her life on the line just to get noticed on social media. She’s setting a horrible example for others.
14. It’ll be fun, they said
Sure, here’s a great way to boost your TikTok following. Go through an automatic car wash…outside of your vehicle. They quickly found out those rotating bristles don’t feel good on the body.
So, he wants everyone to think he’s a really tough dude. But what happens when he meets a girl. As soon as she sees him in person with skinny arms and no tattoos, the game is up.
Yeah, that’s impressive. This parent hung onto their small child’s arm while he’s
dangling over a huge drop off just so they could take a “cool” photo. This is unbelievable.
These African children don’t even know what Instagram is. Yet somehow, they knew this woman was exploiting them. Perhaps it was her big, fake smile.
Here’s another young gal who desperately wants attention. While there’s nothing wrong with trying to look sexy, she chose the wrong spot. Never do this in front of a World War II memorial plaque.
In anticipation of improving her Instagram status, this woman walked into a conservatory and did this. To get just the right pose, she stopped all over plants. Even when asked to stop, she didn’t.
20. A complete lack of respect
Instead of visiting a loved one who passed away in private, this gal used it as an opportunity to get attention. It took several tries, but she finally got the photo she wanted. What happened to showing respect to the deceased?
To a child, hearing your parents are getting a divorce is devastating. But even worse? Finding out through a post they shared on social media.
Just for some silly likes on TikTok, this dad did the unthinkable. He shaved his son’s hair off. And in response, he made his boy cry. Way to go, dad.
This woman wasn’t getting the attention she felt she deserved. So, she resorted to throwing a chair over her balcony several floors down to the street. Don’t worry about hitting a car or pedestrian. In her mind, that’s not important.
For several years, this adoptive mother posted photos of herself along with her son. But then out of nowhere, she placed him up for adoption with another family. That’s probably a good thing since he doesn’t look all that happy in the photos.
25. Sexual harassment works both ways
For some crazy reason, this woman thought it was okay to jump in the laps of strangers on a train. As you can see by this guy’s reaction, he wasn’t pleased. All for the sake of attention.
This lady took her restaurant meal outside to photograph it. Don’t ask why because we have no clue. Personally, we think taking a photo of her food from inside the restaurant would’ve looked better for her social media following/
27. Indigestion in 3, 2, 1
She’s so cool. Eating glass, deodorant, and rocks…yeah, that’ll get you noticed. It might also get you admitted into a crazy house.
28. Deceitful and disgusting
To make herself look good to others, this woman borrowed a drill from a worker. She then pretended to board up windows. Oh, and by the way, she drove away in a Mercedes Benz.
Here’s proof you can’t believe everything you see on the internet. This lady does a photoshoot that makes it look as though she’s rich and successful. But behind the scene, she’s surrounded by street people who are probably laughing hysterically.
This man
pushed a photographer in the water. And he didn’t even know him. Not only could that have caused him to sustain an injury but it probably also ruined some expensive camera equipment.
Trying to show off to the internet, this guy did the
dumbest thing. He had to realize that after pouring alcohol on his hand and then putting a match to it wouldn’t end well. Then again, maybe it never dawned on him.
…and that’s all it would’ve taken for this young gal to lose her life. But she desperately wanted attention. So, this was her way of getting it.
This girl in Korea thought it was a good idea to walk up to strangers and force a hug on them. No one took kindly to her actions. She looks like a total fool.
If people want to do ridiculous things to get attention…fine. But leave the innocent animals out of it. Rubbing this sweet Pitbull puppy with fruit was a really bad idea.
35. Always check behind you first
A lot of women post photos of themselves on social media. They love the praise received for their looks. But this woman didn’t realize her husband was sitting on the toilet behind her…or then again, maybe she did.
36. Accidental or intentional
We’ll probably never know. But in this guy’s video, he was showing people how to
fall asleep fast. He then leaps into bed while hitting his head on the spinning fan blades.
This guy’s friend thought it would be funny to snatch the keys out of the ignition and toss them out the window while filming it. The only problem…there was a storm drain where they landed. Good luck getting them back.
Some people are so focused on themselves as they try to get attention, they just don’t think. Like this man. He stood on the Auschwitz train tracks while holding a Louis Vuitton bag.
Here’s a great way to get attention. Tell everyone on social media that you’re deathly allergic to blackberries and then proceed to pop one in your mouth. Let’s hope she had an EpiPen nearby.
40. “Wait, we’re in trouble?”
What did these guys think was going to happen? They dumped all that cereal inside a subway thinking it was funny. Well, the cops weren’t laughing.
The audacity of these women. They ordered several different cakes just to take photos to add to their Instagram. But then they didn’t want to pay because after all, they didn’t touch or eat them.
Yes, the after photo is gorgeous. But we’re split on this. On one hand, she’s creative. On the other hand, she’s, well, fake.
We’re sorry but we wanted to show just how far some people will go to get attention. This German Shepherd was forced to eat chili. And the poor thing cried the entire time.
Just to get a beautiful photo, an individual released several Mylar balloons. What they failed to realize is that these balloons aren’t biodegradable. This one ended up in a field where a calf tried to eat it. Fortunately, the animal’s owner was able to save her.
Despite signs posted telling people to stay out of the field of flowers, tourists were more interested in taking selfies. Without any respect, they entered. After leaving, the field was destroyed.
At least we hope that’s what the restaurant did. This is so disturbing. Talk about entitlement.
47. This confused everyone
Seriously, everyone who saw this video was stumped. They couldn’t figure out what message this girl was trying to get out. The only assumption, she was desperate for attention.
…or so it seemed. This guy saw an elderly woman eating in a restaurant by herself. So, he asked if he could join her. She was happy for the company. But he shouldn’t have posted this pretending he took his grandma out to eat just to rack up likes.
49. Destroying the environment
And just to go viral. All you can do is shake your head in utter disbelief. Some guys thought the best way to get noticed was to add soap to a canal. As you can see, they caused significant damage.
50. Who needs permission?
Apparently, this couple thought their neighbor’s Christmas decorations were a lot better than theirs. So, for their social media holiday photo, they stood in front of someone else’s house. But they failed to ask permission first.
