Here are 50 Halloween costume fails, many of which probably could have been prevented by a friend telling them to stop putting on the costume before it was too late.

Harry Potter costumes can be simple or elaborate. The first key is the glasses. The second is not drawing them on with a marker.
#2 Homer Simpson on a bad day
He tried to dress up as Homer. He ended up looking like Homer after the nuclear plant finally had a meltdown. Getting the face paint right is important.
He wouldn’t be the first person to use toilet paper to make a mummy costume. However, most people toss the empty roll when they’re done.
#4 Another disappointing childhood
This kid’s costume was just a paper bag. That’s all, nothing more. No one ever figured out what she was supposed to be. Even she didn’t know.
He wanted to be Wolverine. We get that. But why is the costume shaped like a banana?
When we think of a Smurf, we think of a happy little blue creature that dances and sings. This nightmare zombie version is not even in the realm of possibilities.
Something failed in the hair and makeup department. This is not how face paint is supposed to work. Don’t even get us started on the costume itself.
R2D2 can be a great costume. Just make sure to get it in the right size, unlike this person.
Everyone loves a little blood and gore with their Halloween. However, too much realism is just too much. When people are calling an ambulance, you’ve gone too far.

Have you ever seen a relationship that you just knew was doomed? This would be the Halloween costume to go with it.
This is supposed to be an accurate representation of Mister Burns from the Simpsons. He got the hands right.
This is a ghost costume. It was made with a single sheet of paper towel. Nothing else was involved.
His costume was just a bad pun. We hope he at least got to make sandwiches later.
A narwhal could be a really amazing Halloween costume. It’s just not going to happen when made this way, not even a little.
There are so many reasons not to do this. We lost count.
This dog’s doll head costume can actually be good or bad, depending on how you look at it. The real question is, will you be able to sleep at night after seeing it?

Parenting rules seem to disappear on one magic day of the year. Can you guess which day that is?
If the police get called, your costume has gone too far. If an ambulance is on its way, you need to reassess your costume choices.
#26 The moment you realize
This costume looked okay. He thought he had done well enough. Then he met the competition.

There are plenty of inside jokes among couples about how their kids have been conceived. Making a kid wear that joke for Halloween might be pushing it.
This is not going to happen. On no planet would this happen.
Here’s your classic sheet ghost. He has clearly given up on life.
A costume can be a great way to break the ice and get to know people. However, his dressing like a stripper pole did not get him the attention he was hoping for.
There are actually a ridiculous number of costumes out there based on this particular theme. None of them are good, not even one.
Is this a Halloween costume? Is he just out to kill everyone? We’ll never know until it’s too late.
It’s just your average Batman costume. And yet, we can’t stop being deeply disturbed by the mustache.
This Chewbacca costume came with a top. However, he felt that he could pull off the look without it. He was close.
#46 So bad it’s almost good
This Pennywise costume looks nothing like the horror movie clown. However, it will still give you nightmares. Mission accomplished!
This dinosaur costume wasn’t half bad. The problem was that it was also only half-inflated. It was flopping everywhere.
#48 Ignoring the plotline
These two look cute and in love together. The problem – that’s Buzz Lightyear’s girl!
He tried his best to squeeze into the costume. It just wasn’t going to happen.
The Carrie costume and makeup aren’t bad. However, she got in a car wreck while dressed like this and had to explain to all the first responders that she wasn’t actually that hurt. It’s just one of the unspoken risks of Halloween.
