Crazy things happen in quarantine. Due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, we have all been self-isolating for about a month now and it is safe to say that it is getting weird. Suddenly, all of the services we depend on in regular every day life are no longer available… We can’t get our nails done, we can’t get our eyebrows waxed, and we definitely can’t go out and pay for a haircut right now.
While some of us are choosing to simply embrace our new, monstrous and hairy selves, others are resorting to some DIY treatments and, let’s just say, the results are very interesting. I mean, have you ever seen a woman saw off her hair with a kitchen knife? Quarantine, baby!
Unfortunately, she isn’t the only person who tried cutting her own hair over the last few days. We found tons of people with the same issue, so we picked 50 of the best.
“Not a joke, my clippers just died,” Ben Rosen shared on Twitter along with this photo. If it’s not a joke, then why are we laughing so much? Not a great time for your tools to die.
2. Street Fighter villain
“Wife gave me a #QuarantineCut,” Ben Eisenstaedt wrote on Twitter. “What should my Street Fighter villain name be?” Hm, how about Quarantine King?
For this one we can’t even be surprised. This man let his 5-year-old child cut his hair. What was he expecting? Luxury salon level?!
“A lil uneven but it’s fine, I ain’t straight anyways,” Elisha hilariously remarked. Hey, it’s all about being able to embrace it. We’re loving this person’s sense of humor!
It’s important to get behind the ears… Don’t forget about those guys. This dude definitely didn’t.
“This was my mother’s attempt at a fade… prayers to all the men getting home haircuts during quarantine,” this user wrote on Twitter. If this is a fade, then we wonder what bald looks like!
“My brother wanted his haircut during quarantine, I’d say he’s looking too fresh,” this Reddit user wrote. Maybe the back of his neck is looking fresh, but they kind of forgot the whole, well, top part.
This woman gave her partner a quarantine fade. Seems like a pretty hilarious way to end a relationship.
“So I had an ‘oops’ trying to give myself a quarantine haircut… Lesson learned,” this man shared via Twitter. What “oops” is he talking about though? We can’t see it… Okay, we’re being facetious.
“I’m reluctant to call what my wife did to me a haircut. But here it is. Well done wife, another string to your bow,” this man wrote on Reddit. At least his wife doesn’t have to worry about another woman being interested in him now!
“Homemade haircut. Extra crispy.” The best part is probably the fact that the person who cut his hair thought they could do it because they stayed up late watching videos. Yeah, they’re pretty much a pro now.
This wife gave her husband a new “corona haircut” and she is very pleased with herself. “Nailed it,” she wrote. Hey, looks like she has got a new side hustle.
George P. Bush even got a home haircut and it’s probably the only one that doesn’t look like an alien did it. Maybe it is worth trying!
Right when we were starting to believe in at-home haircuts, we see this. Maybe we take it back.
“Well done, you aren’t allowed to moan about hairdressers ever again,” this guy wrote. He has a good point, too. Maybe we have been taking hairdressers for granted this whole time.
This man, too, has had a bad haircut. He feels your pain. We’re all in this together.
So it’s a little uneven… We’ve seen worse (I mean, have you seen the rest of this list?).
The haircut just began and it’s already not looking so hot. Should they stop there or should they try to fix it? What if it gets even worse?
Hey, maybe the person cutting this man’s hair was wearing blindfolds! You don’t know for sure.
20. Corona can’t get me down
But maybe this haircut will get you down a little bit? Just kidding, we’re glad this man is making the best of it!
It turned out nicely! Let’s not make too much fun of this guy because at least he is doing his part and staying home (it’s still hilarious though).
This mother tried her best, what can we say? At least she urged everyone not to try it at home. Poor kid.
“Only fish I’ve caught lately is a mullet,” Michael wrote on Twitter. Business in the front, party in the back? Nah… We’re not sure about that one.
Today, we are learning that a lockdown fade is very, very,
very different from a professional salon fade. A for effort though, dudes.
“Sorry. I’ve tried,” this man wrote. Don’t get too down, we can’t blame you for trying! Hang in there!
“Can’t trust everyone with a trimmer,” this poor man wrote. We can’t say he is wrong after taking a gander at some of these quarantine cuts!
“Do NOT cut your husband’s hair. No matter how much he begs you. Nothing good can happen. Especially if you make him look like Moe from the three stooges. I’m sorry honey,” Laura Laser wrote. Listen up, ladies!
28. Housemate’s corona cut
“When you get to help with your housemate’s corona cut,” this person wrote. Well it actually might not be so great because then your housemate’s hair can turn out like this and then you might need to find a new housemate. Think twice.
29. Don’t try this at home
A hair cut in the time of Covid-19. It’s not great but hey, at least they are technically saving lives.
The good news is that he probably won’t ask for a haircut ever again. Wife of the year right here!
31. Lesson learned part 400
“If you missed it… Lesson learned… never let your mrs cut your hair again. This is the last time I go to the quarantine cuts barbers.” At least he knows for next time!
We’ve seen a bunch of men’s cuts but women are struggling with their hair, too! This gal didn’t do a terrible job, it’s just a little asymmetrical… It’s a whole different battle.
“I DONT EVEN CARE! I DONT. IT WAS KEEPING ME 10393728 degrees hotter and now… I can feel the breeze,” this guy wrote. Sounds convincing to us. “Maybe I’d like the soften the edge. But whatever. I’m trying to find the comb pieces guide thingies. I’ll fix it later.” That’s fine, you earned a break. Go relax now.
This person misses his barber. We all do, man. We all do.
After attempting to give her own child a haircut, this poor mama can confirm that the task is much harder than it looks. One thing is for sure: we are never taking our hairdressers for granted again.
36. Someone’s sleeping alone tonight
This woman’s husband actually gave
himself a haircut. Safe to say his wife is not a fan of it and he is probably sleeping alone tonight.
“I mean, a global pandemic is bad news for a lot of businesses, but it is REALLY bad news for my barber.” At least Kien has a great sense of humor! Or maybe he’s not joking. Then maybe we should be worried.
“Wee bit more off than planned,” this guy wrote. What, are you saying you didn’t mean to carve out that huge hole in your hair? We thought that was the new look!
“Got my 7 year granddaughter to cut my hair. At least looking like a leper from behind people are keeping 2 meters away,” this person wrote. What was he expecting to see after letting a toddler cut his hair?
“Had a go cutting my own hair. Didn’t go well!” Wow, we are
shocked!
“After a couple shots last night, [we] thought it was time for a hair cut. Oh boy, were we wrong,” Brandon Hanson. It’s one thing to cut your own hair, it’s another thing to do it under the influence.
“First attempt at clipping my own hair strongly suggests my barber has nothing to fear,” says J.E. Fishman. We’re going to have to agree with this statement.
This cut is completely bizarre. What was the logic behind it? He was probably just trying to get creative with it. After all, quarantine is making us feel more bored than usual.
Not only did this man cut his own hair but he also dyed it. He is definitely an over achiever.
45. Being a barber is very useful
After all of this nonsense, here is a guy who is actually a barber! That’s definitely something that would come in handy right about now.
46. Another case of broken clippers
Just like one of the previous men, this man’s clippers also broke halfway through the haircut. What are the chances!
Why not take this time to reinvent yourself? If you know you’re not capable of giving yourself a great cut, why not go all the way and take on a totally radical new look?
Who’s more scared: the man about to get his hair cut by a little boy, or the little boy about to give a grown man a haircut? Judging by this photo, it is hard to tell.
Here’s a great self-isolation tip: Don’t let your young daughters cut your hair. If you do, you might end up looking like this.
If you know it’s not going to be perfect, might as go big with a full-on dye job too. This might just be the coolest family ever.
To all the barbers out there who might be seeing this: it looks like your jobs are safe during this time. In fact, the world needs you now more than ever.
