Hard to adopt out and often left alone in shelters since everyone thinks they want a puppy, these furry friends just need to be given a chance.
Most dogs are considered โseniorโ at around age 7 or 8, though smaller dogs can often live beyond 15. While some of them may have some health problems, their owners know that they still have lots of love to give.
After all, age is just a number and these good boys and girls will show you just how rewarding it is to have an older dog in your life.
1. Joey, 16
At 16, sheโs still enjoying playing in the water and eating sand! Look at those lips!

As the elder statesman in the family, this chubby little Boston Terrier is happy to be a bed for his new friend.

19. Cyprees, age unknown
โโฆheโs been a street dog his entire life. In this picture you can see scarring around his neck, this is most likely from a chain that was too tight and dug into his skin. We donโt know much about him, but we do know his life was rough before he got to me. He has testicular cancer but thatโs not stopping him! He has SO much love to give, even after a life full of pain and neglect. I am head over heels for him!โ
What a story!

Even though sheโs deaf, that doesnโt keep her from loving life (and striking a great pose!)

What a handsome boy!

Could you say no to this face?

42. Cash, 12
According to the Redditor who adopted him: โHe spent most of his life in a basement in a cage before he was surrendered to the rescue agency, so now he roams endlessly!โ
Weโre glad to hear Cash is getting a chance to use that pent up energy after a hard start to life.

Weโre loving this goofball photo of her at the tender age of 15.
