There are lots of kids who seem born for the spotlight, whether itโs in music, dance, or acting. Simply by watching them you can tell theyโve got stardom in their future.
When you see five-year-old Katarina DelCamp skate on ice that might be your exact thoughts.
The video below was captured at the Houston Galleria Christmas Show. It didnโt take long before Katarina had everyoneโs eyes lighting up with amazement over her talent.

If you believe ice skating is magical, just wait until you see it combined with elements of Christmas.
When Katarina enters the rink sheโs wearing a fun interpretation of a Santa suit, complete with a hat and โboots.โ She begins her routine in a pose and waits for the song to begin.
The moment twinkling sounds fill the room it becomes apparent what tune would be accompanying her performance. It was Mariah Careyโs, โAll I Want For Christmas Is You,โ another reason the crowd was in for a treat!

Despite being young, everyone quickly realized that Katarina was an incredible ice skater.
In the video, the crowd cheers as she spins multiple times on the ice before gliding off and balancing on one leg. Her routine then morphs into a mix of dance and skating techniques that work together beautifully.

To add to the holiday theme, thereโs a large glittery Christmas tree in the center of the rink.
At one point, Katarina leaves the open area and skates around the tree. Yet, according to a comment made from the skaterโs YouTube channel โ that wasnโt supposed to happen.
โThe Christmas Tree placement at the Galleria has always been on that portion of the rink. Katarina was supposed to perform her entire routine on the open end of the rink even though she had begged to circle the tree in practice. Well, when it was Show Time, little Miss Independent took it upon herself to improv a bit and circled the tree. LOL!!! That flair for the dramatic is signature Katarina:-)โ

For those of us who arenโt trained in the sport of ice skating, itโs almost unfathomable what Katarina could do at such a young age.
According to lifelong skater and professional coach, Karen De Vito, kids can be ready to start learning to ice skate between three and five. However, thereโs a lot of patience involved too.
She told Todayโs Parent:
โItโs a whole new environment, new equipment and new skill set. It can take quite a while for children to start to feel confident.โ

Katarina started skating at the age of three-and-a-half, alongside her twin brother Dakota. As youโll see by watching her performance, she seemed to advance relatively quickly!

Some people are born with great talent and are destined to have their dreams come true.
Katarina lit up the ice that day with her festive routine to โAll I Want for Christmas Is You.โ Itโs not the only time sheโs wowed a crowd though.
Since then, Katarina has made many achievements in the world of ice skating. According to Famous Birthdays, Katarina became a โUS National Novice Dance silver medalistโ in 2017 (along with her partner, Maxwell Gart).

In 2018, Katarina left the following comment on the Christmas performance, which also provided an update.
โItโs been just over 8 years since I skated this performance. Time has really gone by fast!! Iโm now 13 years old am competing at the 2018 Prudential Figure Skating Championships as a Junior level Ice Dancer. I have a dream to make it to the Olympics and World competitions some day :-)โ
Thereโs no doubt Katarina will have even more success on the ice. You can even tell by watching how talented she was at just five years old.
