In this highly technological world, communication has evolved between individuals. But one thing still hasn’t changed: people can still get the wrong number.
We all receive wrong text messages in our lives, and it can be a pretty awkward situation. How to respond to those messages has always been tricky. Do you tell them right away? Do you play around? Or do you just ignore them?
Here are some of the hilarious wrong texts and their brilliant exchanges. But it’s not all funny in there. You’ll find some to be heartwarming and uplifting, too.
1. Trying to find Nemo.
This Finding Nemo humor in response to a wrong text is way too fun. Imagine the confusion of being given an address that the sender probably heard from the movie.
2. His what is on fire?
Definitely not an ordinary text you’ll receive, even if it’s the wrong one. We hope Jake is doing okay.

There’s no better way to break it to the sender that he got the wrong number than telling him he’s fired. We wonder if he was able to retrieve the address and meet with Donald to narrate to him this funny exchange.

Time for something heartwarming. What would you do if you receive a wrong message like this one? Ah, of course. You’ll congratulate Don, too.

It’s never good when someone you met gave you the wrong number, but it’s nice of this man to encourage Brandon to try again.

Sometimes, the best way to deal with a wrong text is to send a random photo of a llama. Who knows? Maybe you can make someone’s day.

It seems like an ordinary wrong text, and quite polite to ask if he still got the wrong number. What made it hilarious is him thinking that Patrick maybe someone from Spongebob. What if he wasn’t an “actual” Patrick? Hmmm.

We feel bad how this sincere apology was sent to the wrong person, but at least it was a good apology. Don’t we all just hope people would apologize this way?

It’s pretty shocking when you receive an angry text, all the more if it was wrongly sent. But this person replied like it didn’t shake them.

Estella may have sent her inquiry to the wrong person, but this person still gave her much-needed advice.

This is probably the weirdest wrong text you’ll receive. Who gets to see a bunch of Shrek worshippers ever in their lifetime? One in a million, maybe.

He may have received a wrong text, but he grabbed the opportunity to troll the sender with his response – and something to think about the germs these wipes can kill.
14. “Beautiful, and not just hot.”
It’s flattering to be called ‘beautiful,’ but not from a wrong text. We think Dan might be a gorgeous man to be called hot and beautiful.
15. From one woman to another.
It’s probably fate or coincidence when you sent the wrong message to someone who understands what you’re going through.

Whoever sent this wrong text was probably shocked and at wit’s end with the response they got.
17. A straight out ‘no’.

His reply to this wrong text could’ve been very mean and disheartening to this Dad. But that follow-through redeemed him.

We’re scratching our heads on this one. When someone replies that you got the wrong number, it’s safe to assume that they don’t know the right one. You should, though.

He may not be able to support the cause by joining the protest, but that emoji reply says a lot.

It can be pretty embarrassing to send random weird stuff to the wrong person, but it’s a good thing this guy gets the humor.

How do you respond to a wrong text about somehow who is not well? Aside from well-wishes, this one sent a dinosaur nugget, just in case the sender needs a bit of a pick-me-up.

This guy was mistaken for a barber, so he went along with the narrative with some funny photos of his “hairstyling skills.” In the end, they both had a good laugh about it.

Quite an awkward exchange, but glad they’re both a good sport about this.

When you’re caught between a lover’s drama, give her your two cents. This person telling her to dump Ryan is one good example. Though, it’s not that helpful since she already divorced him.

Memes have become one humorous way to interact and exchange messages with people. And even if you give the most telling memes, it still can be vague for others.
30. “Send my congrats.”
Unluckily for this sender, their good news was sent to the wrong person. At least the recipient was kind enough to send their congratulations as well. Congrats, Sandy!
31. The mysterious cheap green beans from the store.
Such a random wrong text about green beans. This sender seems like they don’t have any clue they sent it to the wrong person. Been asked ‘who is this?’ twice, but they just rave about the cheap green beans from the store.
32. Well, you got to share that now.
Let it be an unwritten (but unofficial rule!) of wrong texts that if you send a photo of any food to a stranger, you ought to share that food now.
33. Thou shalt not break up with someone through text.
This is something we never want – break-up through text. This breakup text was sent to the wrong person who never thought of going out with anyone yet gets this kind of message.
34. Spam scam.
We all have received scam texts more than a couple of times in our life. But trying to scam 20 at once in a group text? What a spam scam!
35. Food delivery just leveled up.
What if food can be shipped from anywhere? This guy tries to troll someone who wants to buy a McDonald’s meal for them.
36. Oops.
Greeting someone a happy birthday in this manner is pretty intense. But guess who got embarrassed in the end? Oops.
37. A class act.
That ‘Hey’ plus the kissy emoji may be playing with the wrong sender, but at least this random 14-year-old girl was classy enough to break it to Jake that she is not Olivia, plus some encouraging parting words.
38. Bless Corey’s soul.
Imagine their panic when they found out Corey was in an accident, or their relief to find out it was not the Corey they knew… or feel sorry for the sender who lost a dear friend in Corey.

Christmas is indeed a wonderful time of the year that even if you accidentally greeted someone, you’ll get greeted back.

It’s odd to receive an entire massage talking about rowdy boys (as per this sender) and then ask your opinion if they should be sent to the military. So, if these boys are in the military now, they can blame this guy.

We’re not sure if Tajlea knows how wrong texts work or what ‘wrong number’ means. She even thought it’s a trick!

We don’t know what’s more amusing – this photo of a moose? Or the recipient’s pun? One vote for the pun.

They probably wanted to ask for help from a friend, but this stranger gave them the help they need anyway.
44. Moral support.
This wrong text exchange is just wholesome and heartwarming. While they were not able to chat long, one thing’s for sure: Fay has a great support system.

From one code geek to another! This is another creative (or shall we say, techy) way of telling someone they got the wrong number.
