Preschool graduations are among the cutest shows to sit through. The students dress up in their finest attire, beaming ear to ear as they stand before family and others, ready to show off all that they’ve learned in the past school year.
They are charged with reciting the alphabet, colors and days of the week. They sing spectacular preschool songs that can make you giggle and make you cry.
At Artek Child Education Center in Glendale, Calif., four preschool boys have been tasked with performing what they call the musical chair dance.
The dapper fellas are dressed to the nines in white button-down dress shirts with black vests, black bow ties, black dress pants and shiny black shoes.
They’re even sporting sequined fedoras. They look quite sharp!
Off to the side, their teacher is helping them execute the tricky choreography of their routine. They start out clapping their thighs in sync with the music, performing an intricate pattern. They don’t miss a beat!
They are in step fantastically and do a wonderful job. But they aren’t done just yet.
This quartet then crosses their legs and pat their thighs to the fun and crazy music. They then pop up from their blue chairs in which they’re seated and throw in a snappy little move where they turn to the side and pinch the bill of their hat paired with a snazzy little leg pop.
They walk around the chair a couple of times, bouncing up and down behind the back of the chair as they hold on to it. The music propels the boys through the song while captivating the audience.
Another piece of their choreography shows them hopping up onto their blue chairs and marching in place, slowly turning back to the front, then around to the back.
Then they leap over the back of the chair and get considerable air. Very impressive!
At the end of their routine, then turn their chairs around and sit backward, facing the audience. This clever routine earns them a rousing round of applause from the audience gathered there to watch them during their graduation ceremony.
These boys definitely have earned their diploma after that stellar performance!
Six months later, Artek recorded the video they called musical chair dance 2. These kiddos were invited to perform their original musical chairs dance at M-Dance Studio’s 10th anniversary show.
This time, though, they mixed it up with a red bow tie for a splash of color. Even sweeter is how the audience clapped along with these clever kids throughout their fun routine. Bet these boys were awfully excited to perform on a huge stage with splashy lighting before a huge audience.
For the end of this routine, the boys took turns bowing and existing off the stage carrying their chairs. It was very impressive!
Watch for yourself how sweet and snappy their routine is in the video below. They’re quite cute! We hope to see more from this talented group.
