Even if you a lot of knowledge about the world, there’s no way to know everything. No one does. But here’s the interesting thing. The knowledge you do have might be completely different than what you thought.
1. Geographically impossible
While it’s hard to tell, that’s a whale skeleton. Even more bizarre, it was discovered in the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. In the middle of a rainforest.
2. A new perspective of the beach
At first, you might think these are seashells or colored rocks. But neither one is correct. Instead, these are grains of sand magnified between 100 and 300 times their normal size.
If it weren’t for the spine, you might think this is artwork. First, this is an x-ray of a dog’s stomach. Second, all those bubbles and squiggly things are puppies.
You’ve seen them in brown and the standard yellow and black. But this bee has the Midas touch. Its entire body is a beautiful golden color.
How did knights from the medieval era get around with their heavy armor on? Come to find out, the shoe covering is flexible. That allowed them to move somewhat while still being protected.
As you know, or thought you knew, snails have a dark-colored exterior shell. But some are unique. This snail with a translucent shell. You can clearly see everything on the inside.
7. Hint: these aren’t cookies
Rather than Christmas cookies, these are starfish. The one with the five points is what most of them look like. The one on the left is square due to a birth defect.
Do you notice anything? The reflections in this man’s glasses are from an illuminated mirror. But looking closely, you’ll discover they’re not the same because each lens has a different prescription.
You’ve probably lit your fair share of candles that look like the one on the left. But in zero gravity, the photo on the right shows what happens to a candle. Not only is the flame round but also blue.
What stunning eyes. We’re not sure how this happened but we’re guessing there aren’t very many kitties that look like this one. Its eyes kind of remind you of miniature pumpkins.
Usually, squirrels have big bushy tails. In the wintertime, they keep the animals warm. But this little guy is half naked.
…or more like, I see right through you. This butterfly has translucent wings. And its name is fitting…the “glass-paned butterfly.” Simply beautiful.

16. The strangest bird’s nest
If this was a bird’s nest it would be strange. But here’s another example of what magnification can do. This is nothing more than a threaded needle.
Although this fish looks like it’s plastic or clay, it’s 100 percent real. This fish was caught in Hawaii. Hopefully, they threw it back since it’s way too pretty to eat.

32. Hidden in plain sight…
…unless flying over it in a plane. This is known as an illegal marijuana grow. And it’s right in the middle of a cornfield.

36. One body – two genders
This butterfly is a bilateral gynandromorph. That means it’s half female and half male. It even has a split appearance.
Many people would love to move to a small town after retiring. These people did…sort of. This is a retirement facility designed to look and function as a quaint village community. What a fantastic idea.
