Just like this one group on Reddit that was formed to focus solely on sharing things with misleading titles. With over 489k members in this online group called Not Always What You Think, they share weird, funny, and interesting pictures that, due to their optical illusion-like nature and misleading title, make you stop for a moment to investigate further.

1. Delicious Sushi
Up first we have what looks like some pretty delicious sushi. But upon further investigation we see it is a parakeet gently wrapped in a blanket. Definitely do not want to take a bite!
Yikes! This person noticed a hole right in the middle of their kitchen. Which just turns out to be their very cute pup patiently waiting for any crumb to drop.

When we first get a new pair of glasses things can be a bit blurry at first. However, with this pair, it turns out to be just a bridge over water! Especially if you looked at this photo while wearing real glasses, it may have taken an extra moment.
What a beautiful photo of giraffes in the Serengeti at sunset. But upon further investigation we notice those are not giraffes at all but oil rigs. Still a beautiful sunset though.
Pictures of the other planets in our galaxy are some of the coolest things that we now have the opportunity to look at as technology advances. Turns out, a lake and some ducks look just like Jupiter!

Sometimes, when we are having so much fun at a celebration we notice our flies are down or our dress was accidentally tucked in exposing our whole backside. Just as it appears this poor bride is experiencing in this photo. But it’s just an optical illusion of a guest’s arm, phew!
This concert looks crazy with how many people are there. But wait is that a lamp and a chair? At first glance, this looks like a huge concert but upon closer inspection, it’s just a close-up picture of a carpet, chair, lamp, and a couch.
Looking at pictures of icebergs and how big they turn out to actually be can leave us in awe. Just as this one does until we notice the horns. Soon as your eyes adjust, you realize that this is a bison that has been covered in snow.
11. My Friend Tweeted Me The Lunch Salad She Was About To Eat
There seem to be a lot of leafy greens in this lunch. That is until you see the beaks attached and realize these greens are actually birds! Tweeted is right.
Take a moment to allow your brain to go from splitting wood to a bunch of meerkats in a huddle. One user, Notjustnow, titled this, “The Keep Warm Conference”. Another user even admitted at first they thought this photo was an octopus carved out of wood.
13. Aww Man, My Glazed Pastries Came Out All Wrong!
Now this optical illusion is hard to process as it goes from tasty to scary! That is if you don’t like snakes. At first, this photo looks like a bunch of delicious donuts until you fully realize it’s a bunch of slimy snakes.
Looks like these chickens are having a blast in the back of this truck. This is until you notice they are simply cartons of milk! Our next question would be why is there so much milk.
If you’ve ever accidentally left a hot pan on your counter, carpet, or anywhere it shouldn’t have been left you know that it can be pretty detrimental. Just as this person was left with a burn mark on their sheet. Until you look closer and realize it’s actually just their cat!
With expensive leather maintaining its look can be hard. Even devasting at times when there’s a tear just as this photo documents what looks to be an unfortunate split in a the couch. Until you realize it is a boat coasting through some dark blue water.
This one is quite scary at first. Especially, with the title man bathing with a burnt corpse! Luckily for all of us, it is just a man with his dog relaxing in the bath.
While cutting up and enjoying this watermelon these people stumbled upon a massive seed. Until you realize it’s just another bird with an near perfect resembelance to this watermelon.
19. Microscopic View Of Tweezers Picking Up An Organism
It is always interesting to see tiny organisms up close. But as we take a closer inspection of this photo we noticed those aren’t tweezers at all but an airplane and its trails. Another optical illusion so confusing many mentioned they thought this image was possibly an orange!
Some of these optical illusion photos take a little bit longer for our eyes to adjust to what is real. This photo is one of those photos that even after we realize what it is it is hard to unsee what we believed to see at first. Just like this photo of some sort of carton that bears a striking resemblance to Cleopatra.
We’ve seen time and time again how nature repeats in many different forms. Such as this photo of a surfer riding a rare double tube wave! Until you notice it’s actually a climber on a glacier.
They have the most advanced and unique technology in Japan. Just as we see here of this man riding the elevator in Japan. Until we zoom in just a tad and realize this man is actually lying in a fridge!
This is a tough image to look at first if you like animals. At first glance, it looks like this dog has a horribly deformed nose until you see the tiny little feet attached! Then this picture goes from tough to look at to terribly cute once you fully see the hamster.
24. Frame From The Matrix (1999) Where A Mouse Cursor Was Accidentally Left In
For this one you really have to zoom in to figure out what is actually going on. At first, it does look like a frame from the matrix where a mouse cursor was accidentally left but when you zoom in you see that the mouse is actually a farmer working in a field.

Here we have a bunch of seemingly ripe bananas hanging on a stick ready for the picking. That is until you see the eye looking back at you and realize what these bananas actually are. Which is a snake!

Here we have another image that is hard to look at first until you realize what the image actually is. At first glance, it looks like this poor girl’s legs are completely mangled. That is until you zoom in and realize it’s just her handbag.
27. Crazy Bacterial Growth After Swabbing And Culturing My Work Keyboard
After swabbing their keyboard at work this person stumbled across some pretty crazy bacterial growth. But once again upon further inspection, we see a bunch of tiny turtles! Some even mentioned they even mistook this image for poured milk on a salad and even a pot of cream soup with legumes!
Whoops! Someone accidentally drew a crab on this person’s music sheet. But wait is that a little snout? Looks like this little corgi is enjoying a snowday!
29. This Giant Antelope Skull I Found In The Desert
Sometimes we stumble upon some cool things in random places. Just like this person picked up a giant antelope skull found in the desert! Until you see that this is just a silly dog lounging on the couch….absolutely a-deer-able!
We saw earlier how nature replicates and repeats in many different variations. Just as we see this life replicate what looks like a stunning aerial view of the amazon river. This little tunnel is uniquely cut by that tiny little caterpillar making its way through the leaf.
Here we have another terrifying misleading title featuring a cute animal. But it’s only for a moment as the video quickly shows this corgi is being thrown into some fresh snow!

When in a plane the world from out the window looks even more magical. Just as this person documented the sunset that so closely resembles molten lava as it flow through rocks. Simply beautiful.
For this one we need to zoom in quite a bit to fully realize what it is. From far away this photo looks like a needle going through a cotton sheet but after zooming in it is way more fascinating. It’s actually a space shuttle leaving our atmosphere!
Sometimes our most important jobs can wear some goofy costumes. Such as these forsenic investigators looking like cosplayers headed to frogcon! However, some in the comments aren’t fully convinced that the thumbnail is misleading.

These pieces of wood look exactly like four pieces of uncooked bacon. Some actually wrote it even looks like morning star vegan bacon or maple bacon! While they share similar looks they also share a similarity in the fragrance they give off in the sense that both smell good.
