Photography is a serious profession. Wildlife photography requires crazy amounts of equipment, patience, and skill to be considered one of the best. Every once in a while though, being in the right place at the right time doesn’t get you the perfect shot of a lion catching a zebra or a bird in flight. Sometimes, wildlife photographers capture the not so majestic moments of animal’s lives. Thanks to The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2019, here are 35 of the best moments.

This otter looks like he just got told the funniest joke. Or maybe a possible tickle fight?

Timing is everything in photography. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No its- a bird plane?
4. This Fish Clearly Taken By Surprise
The photographer should take a hint from this fish, and start swimming the other way. I’m sure he had a similar face when he saw the shark first.
5. This Ice Dancing Couple
Though there’s no ice, this penguin duo could go toe to toe with the synchronization of any Olympic competitor.
6. This Glowing Bird
It’s crazy tht it’s perfectly normal mate is sitting there just as curious as we are about how his head turned glowing orange.
7. These Photogenic Otters
These otters make it seem like this isn’t the first time they’ve had their picture taken, and even wave to te camera.
8. This Bear Who Has Had a Long Day
Everyone has those days, even the biggest grizzly bear on the beach.
9. These Fighting Ladies
These two lionesses can’t be bothered to notice a whole herd of zebras watching their brawl, hopefully not about food.

This photographer caught this squirrel the moment before it looks like he get’s sucked into this tree.
11. This Surfing Penguin
We all knew that penguins were some of the best swimmers out there, but who knew they could hang 10 with style like this?
12. And This Penguin, hitting Puberty
This poor penguin is in the process of molting his baby feathers, but looks as though he’s ‘just going through a phase’.
13. And Then Theres This Penguin.
Just when you think no one is looking, you turn your back and let one rip. But just because you turn your back, doesn’t mean someone isn’t still watching!
14. This contemplating monkey
This monkey either looks like he is holding in a secret or looks like he’s debating sharing a secret. Either way, a perfect moment for a photo.
15. This Surprised Otter
We may not know what this otter is looking at, but maybe the photographer just took the little guy by surprise.
16. This Bug Saying Hello
Thiws photographer had just zoomed in and focused enough to capture the moment that this bug greeted him. Something impossible to catch with the naked eye.
17. This Squirrel Just Trying To Smell the Roses
This squirrel was just trying to make a wish on some dandelion seeds and happened to be facing the wrong direction.
18. This Curios Guy
This curios little guy looks happy to have his photo taken, leaning in, looking at the camera, perfect focus- this rodent could be a full time model.
19. This Turtle Obeying the Rules
You don’t have to tell this turtle twice that this is a slow traffic zone, he’s probably already going full speed.
20. Another Bear Having a Day
Everyone has stressfull days, but like the grizzley bear, this polar bear looks like he is also suffering from case of the Mondays.
21. This Deer in Cognito
Hunters could take a lesson from this deer in the art of camouflage. What probably came from an accident too close to the brush, this deer looks like he added the plants and bushes to his antlers and face on purpose.
22. This Dramatic Rodent
The possibilities for what this little guy is actually doing are endless. Is he trying out for a play? Performing his favorite song? Or maybe even dancing?
23. This Seal That Just Got Told The Funniest Joke
This chubby seal looks like he practically invented the phrase ‘rolling on the floor laughing.’
24. This Holistic Monkey
This monkey was just trying to take a dip in the springs when he was interrupted by this photographer. He’s clearly trying to get rid of him by casting a spell.

I don’t know what these two are laughing at, but it looks like an inside joke we would love to get in on.

This monkey looks like he has a serious attitude towards anyone trying to take his picture.
27. These Dancing Rabbits
These two fighting rabbits actually look more like they are holding hands.
28. These Two Caught In the Act
Monkey’s are interesting creatures and I’m sue while photographing them, you never know what you’re going to get. The least this photographer could have done was give the couple some privacy.
29. This Leader of the Pack
Who knew that this bird could be the leader of the pack for a couple capybaras. Something about this makes it seem like they’re about to cause some trouble.
30. This Little guy Taking a Load Off
Life is rough for this baby chimp. Noting beats relaxing against momma and taking a break from all the woes of being a monkey.
31. This Epic Chest Bump
Nothing is better than species getting along among other species. Even though in reality this is probably a turf war, this photographer took this in a way that makes it look like a friendly penguin/seal chest bump
32. This Confident Chimpanzee
This guy has no shame and flaunting hat he’s got and he’s showing off for everyone, including the photograapher that took this at the perfect moment.

It looks like this little cub is going out of his way to make sure he’s an only child, but he’s going to be in a world of hurt the minute after this photo is taken.

It’s been mentioned before that being in the right place and the right time is essential for photographers, but it looks like this little birdy is at the wrong place at the wrong time…

This bear is so human like, he looks like he’s practicing his walk for the red carpet.
