There’s not much we can expect animals to understand. Some dogs might be smarter than a toddler, but at least toddlers get smarter over time. Some animals just never quite get what life with humans is all about.
These 35 pets are trying to figure out how to navigate the human world. Whether it’s sitting like a human or sitting ON a human or simply trying their best to help, it’s clear these furry friends are in need of a little more information. But no matter how clueless they are, they’re still adorable.
This is Gus and he is ok with living among humans as long as they don’t touch or look at him.
Some pets just want to be involved in what you’re doing, like this cat who wants to play video games. Maybe. Or is at least doing its best to look natural next to the local human.
Well that did you expect when you say “everybody smile”? Seems close enough to us.
This can is wondering what could possibly be efficient about eating with your hands when you can just stick your whole face in a pile of food.
We’re not sure what this pup is up to, but maybe she just wants to play with the hose like she sees her humans do. Who doesn’t love water sports?
When you say it’s time to get in that car and go, the least you can do is unlock the door. This cat had human-ing down up to the point when she realized she’d need thumbs for the rest.
We’re not sure what the request was, but this dog is NOT up for it.
This canine companion is slowly realizing that there’s no treat in his owner’s hand. What is even the point of humans then?!
These poor pups are listening to a kid sing. We shudder to think how likely it is that their reactions led to more singing. We don’t even need to hear it to know some humans should not try.
There’s really no place where a dog’s butt doesn’t go, according to dogs. They sits where they sits.
What little brother? Oh, you mean this booster seat? It’s alive? Ok, I’ll use it anyway. Humans are so useful sometimes!
Sometimes when humans decide to use all your nice stuff, you just have to ignore it and keep doing your thing. Eventually they’ll get the hint.
13. What’s personal space?
Where you go, I go! Who cares if that’s the bathroom! After all, you come into my bathrom and scoop up my litter. Where is the boundary?
If I sit like them, maybe I will pass for human, and they will feed me some of that nice, juicy chicken.
4 legs? No way, I’m just like you – 2 arms, 2 legs. Now let’s go get some burgers.
Is this how we chill? I can chill with the best of them.
What? This seems like a perfectly good seat. What’s the problem?
This pup does not understand the concept of work, other than that it’s comfy.
This is not the best way to help mow the lawn, but would you have the heart to tell him that?
We’re sure hoping this owner didn’t pay too much for that dog toy. It’s clearly not going to get a lot of use (other than for taking funny photos).
Maybe this dog can’t wait to be tall enough to reach the kitchen counter.
This is a cat’s reaction to just about everything. Unamused (and slightly mocking).
Excuse me, sir, I would like to purchase some of your finest treats. Do you take slobber dollars?
This furless feline was clearly hoping to have a fine glass of port with dinner, but is disappointed to see her parents broke out the white instead of the red port.
And probably last bath as well. Cats can clean themselves and this is precisely why they do it so often, because they don’t enjoy human baths!
Your local furry banana vendor would like to trade you some bananas for treats. Humans like trading things, right?
27. You have the wrong idea
When I said I needed a rest, I did NOT mean I required your company.
This is not a cat sleeping bag? But it is on the bed and everything on the bed is meant for sleeping.
29. How may I assist you?
You follow me when I go to the bathroom. How is this different?
Cats are great company, but sometimes willing to hold your electronice device while you watch Netflix too!
I’m sorry, what did you just say to us? In any case, the answer is no.
You look more normal when I go like this.
Is that a hot dog you’re eating? Do you need help? After all, it is named after me.
I was in need of comfort and you call this a comforter, right? This makes sense to me.
I have almost completed my full inspection of the human. Am no closer to understanding their kind.
We hope you enjoy these silly pets and their attempts to navigate the human world.
